Fun/"Anti-meta" list?

Had an idea to try and run this as a sort of fun but kind of Anti-Meta list.

 

Prototype + Refit. (15)

Jake Farrel + VI + Refit (23) - Sad not using both EPT slots I know.

Dutch + ICT + R2-D6 + VI (30)

Wes + VI + R3-A2 (32)

 

Idea is all highish PS except the proto, so decent counter to high PS Deci's.

 

Wes can strip Target lock or Focus from Phantom and Stress it before it gets to recloak, also just generally good vs any ship. Also a soft counter to 58 Dash as if they PTL they will end up double stressed. (sucks vs rebel captive but oh well)

 

Jake for just arc dodging sad not to have PTL or Outmaneuver on there, it means dropping the proto and I'd like the extra ship/blocker.

 

Dutch for Ion + Extra actions via passing out Target locks - it can even give one to a stressed Wes due to it being Acquire a lock not perform a lock action.

 

I could either drop the Proto or make it a Z to get the EPT on Jake, but it means 2-3 less dice, no blocker and less HP in the list.

3 points for raising Dutch' pilot skill by 2 points is a lot, especially because it is not an investment that's sure to pay off; Echo or Whisper with VI are still shooting before Dutch.

And there are some good astromechs that work better on Dutch, particularly R5-K6 and R7-T1. With the latter you don't want a high PS anyway, without Advanced Sensors.

It's 2 points actually :) The main Idea behind raising Dutch's PS is to shoot before the likes of Dash, Kenkirk, Vessery, etc. Also means I can move as late as possible, less chance of being blocked and odds are a ship I want to target lock is closer to me.

 

If I drop them I can maybe give Jake Adrenaline rush or Lone Wolf.

 

I do like R7-T1 3 points for a boost + Target lock is great for a Y-wing I think that + Title + any kind of turret is going to be huge when Scum hits, especially on Horton.

It looks like  a lot of fun to fly but not super competitive because once wes dies ( he will take the brunt of the attacks) you dont have a lot of punch

i love y-wings and may be other thanthe a-wing my favorite boat to fly. however, giventhe current meta they are lacking ofensively (hence the scum title card coming)

 

i too am board of seeing the same build sin the current meta. Im tinkering around with a list with luke being the centerpiece:

 

luke+LW+r5p9+stealth=36

this gives luke a reroll on the offense. it also gives a minimum of three defense dice (4 at range3) with a reroll optimizing his pilot skill. i tried using shield upgrade but i think stealth is the better fit. Luke has great survivability with this outfit.

 

my quandry is what to pair him with. ive tried a bandit, b-wing+fcs, roark +ICT+chewie.  It ha s had mixed results. i may have to practice it more, but roark gives the 12 pilot skill to counter the current meta of high PS and predator. it deals some good damage and has some control vs phantoms.

 

what do you all think?
