Second "major" adventure book for AoR?

Recommended Posts

I poked around the 'tubes a bit but didn't really turn anything up.

Seemingly we got two EotE adventure/campaign books right out of the gate, but so far just Onslaught at Arda I for AoR.

Any ideas as to whether we'll be getting another AoR adventure soon?

The EotE adventure books were about a year apart. AoR having had an adventure and career book should next have a sector book of some type if FFG follows the same formula as EotE.

Using Edge of the Empire as a template, Fantasy Flight's Star Wars releases have followed a fairly predictable pattern in terms of releases. Unless the unthinkable happens (FFG loses the license, goes bankrupt, etc.) it's probably a safe bet that Age of Rebellion will match the pattern we've seen with Edge of the Empire releases. (Adventure, Splat, Sector, Splat, Adventure, Splat, Sector, Splat, etc.)

If the pattern holds, the next book we'll see announced for Edge of the Empire is another adventure module, and the next book we'll see announced for Age of Rebellion is a sector module, followed by another splatbook, and then the second adventure. Obviously, this is pure speculation on my part, and based wholly upon the pattern we've already seen.

And the next AOR career book is likely to be Diplomat, Spy or maybe Engineer if they stick to the pattern of alternating combat and non-combat careers. (Counting smuggler as a combat career at least.) While I would love for Engineer to be the next AOR career book the fact that Technician will be the next EOE career book after Smuggler if they hold to pattern makes that unlikely IMO. Then agan they did Ace and Smuggler together so they might do the same with Tech and engineer.

Organization sourcebooks instead of regional sourcebooks might be a cool idea for AoR, as I'm not sure of locations would work as well as they do for EotE (Suns of Fortune does a good job at painting the breadth and depth of the Corellian Sector as a place to find adventure and use as background material). You could do something like Courscant or the whole Outer Rim as locations to conduct Rebel operations, but I dunno if that kind of deep profiling really fits the 'get in and get out' nature of the rebels.

I was also thinking AoR could use a location book on Rebel bases. Profile several key sites like Echo Base and half a dozen outposts, safe worlds, supply stations, allied systems, etc.

I would prefer sector or regional books to organizational ones though either would be cool. Sourcebooks on various regions space with native weapons, vehicles, and ships plus details on the local Rebel and Imperial bases, key figures, and organization.

I would particularly love such books for Sullustan space, Bothan space, Mon Cal space , Kuat space, Sulis Sector, Tapini Sector, and Atravis Sector
