Interceptor and Defender

I wanted to try to make the defender a viable tournament ship. With the 2 ship meta, an HLC defender could be an effective ship. Any thoughts on whether this build would be effective against Fat Han, Super Dash, Decimator/Phantom?

until autothrusters comes out squints struggle in turret heavy lists, vessery would have to fly fairly slow to allow the others to get TL on ships and I think it might put your ship in a bad position, personally id drop soontir (never thought id say tht coz hes a badass) and lone wolf and put some acadamies in. id go something like this:

I flew a very similar list that I ran.  I did some games with a friend or two and then started this thread:

There were 7 people and I came in 3rd, so that was good.  I flew against a Fat Han and had a decent chance.  My first round of shooting didn't go well, but I still stripped all his shields off.  Next, I tried to block him in and I thought I had it.  He managed to go 4 straight and scraped by with a couple of millimeters.  It was the only thing that would've worked for him.  If not, I would've blasted him with Col Vessery (who had Focus and free TL) and Turr Phenir.  After that, I messed a turn up and still would've had another round of blasting.  After that, I just took too much damage.   So....I say that if you don't hurt Fat Han fast, you will die.  

 

I have played this list vs Phantoms.  Maybe not against an expert Phantom player, but not a bad player.  If you fire at a Phantom enough, it will go down.  These ships are all heavy hitters.  It can be done.  It might be bloody, but it can be done.
