Firespray Fix

We'll know if Firesprays are due for a buff if we hear the designers lamenting how they don't ever see them in competitive play like they did about the Falcon like they did at GenCon last year. Then we'll never see the end of them for 3-4 years.

Is this just another call to completely scrap the X-Wing game we know and come out with what will effectively turn out to be a completely new game?  That would be GREAT for FFG because now they could resell everyone things they've already purchased once.  I've never played Warhammer but from what I remember hearing that sure sounds like how they operate and they've been around for years without making anyone unhappy.

 

 

Enough is enough people.  Maybe all those new subforms was a terrible idea because now it seem like so many of the threads in the general section are now "fix this" or "fix that" when they aren't really broken to start with.  We may have gotten "fixed" for the A-Wing and Advanced but they've been two popular ships that have never seen much play even when they were part of a limited selection of choices.

Or 2 sprays and a Targeting Comp & Auto-thruster PTL Soontir if you're a sucker for one super-fast pilot in your squads (I know I am)

 

 

This is going to be a hellified squad to run. Can't wait.

Ya firesprays are amazing in my opinion I've done very well with them. Especially dual bounty hunters with gunner and a doom shuttle. Only thing I had trouble with was dual Falcons and one being chewie. Other than that they are good against almost any list. Beats phantoms too since gunner is equipped. 1st attack strips whatever defense bonus they have like evade or focus second attack usually makes it through.

All Imperial and Scum fire-sprays need are more options and some less specific pilot abilities for the imps.  I expect we'll see a scum pilot who can use secondaries out of rear arc (maybe only rear arc!) and some imperial pilots that don't require so much work to just get their native pilot abilities to go off (no I don't want to spend 7 more points on a ship that already overpays for PS by 1 or more!).

 

As previously noted, new cannons are nice, new faction pilots are amazing, new bombs and a few new Imperial pilots are all they need.

I love the Firespray and don't think they need any tweaking, but i would love to see a PS1 version.  I commonly use them to clog up the works as blockers and they make great meat shields.  A Ps1 version that moves first and is slightly cheaper would be awesome.

I will say 'Sprays, despite being ******* awesome sauce, don't seem all the rage since they only have 1 crew slot in the age of fat ships

 

On the flip-side, Boba (scum or imperial) is 7 points cheaper than Han/Chiraneau. That's a heavy laser cannon right there.

 

With scum getting some sweet new crew options (security droid, the jawa tech thing), the Firespray is going to be a blast (unless IG turns out to be some OP piece of crap)
