Variations on a Rexlar Brath theme

I'm messing around with 4 different lists, and I'm looking for thoughts on their weaknesses.  The overall theme is to have a big gun in the form of Rexler Brath with another decent high PS gun to strip shields/tokens before Rex fires (and to just be another high PS big gun).  I don't know that any of these are better than Rex + a miniswarm, but that's not what I'm trying to figure out right now.  

 

List 1:

Rex 37, HLC 7, Predator = 47

APx2 = 24

Carnor Jax 26, Autothrusters 2, VI 1 = 29

100

-Jax wins PS war vs phantoms, but isn't very durable against a lot of other things without hull/PTL

 

List 2

Rex 37, HLC 7, Predator 3 = 47

Mithel 17, VI 1 = 18

Carnor Jax 26, PTL 3, Autothrusters 2, Hull Upgrade 3 = 34

100 points

-better overall PS, but fewer hulls and no good blockers

 

List 3

Rex 37, HLC 7, Lone Wolf 2 = 46

APx2 = 24

Tetran Cowall 24, VI 1, Autothrusters 2, Hull Upgrade 3 = 30

100 points

-blockers with PS9, fairly tough interceptor, but still won't outbid Whisper in initiative

 

List 4:

Rex 37, Predator 3 = 40

APx2 = 24

Carnor Jax 26, PTL 3, Autothrusters 2, Hull Upgrade 3 = 34

98 points

-beefier Jax with 2 APs, but no HLC for long range pounding.  2 point initiative bid for help against Whisper or Corran

 

I'd like to get the 2APs, a fairly beefy Carnor Jax, and Rex with an HLC in the same list, but it seems like you can really only ever pick 2.

Think both looks good, Lone Wolf VS Predator is always a hard choice thou

I think on an HLC-less Defender, Predator is probably the right choice.  You want to be closer in, which means a greater chance of not activating Lone Wolf.

Id swap the APs for a doom shuttle I've played lists with two ties myself and always find they get pretty much wasted whereas the shuttle can use its base to block n use vader to strip health down making it easier next turn for rexler to kill
