"Eagle Above Us" Imperial Navy Supplement.

Here we start with the first of our 3 project. As the Title suggests, this Supplement aims to give rules to play in the Imperial Navy, adding advanced rules for Aerial Combat.

 

"Project Eagle" shall have the following features:

 

-New Regimental Options, form Imperial Navy boarding Detail to Wing Squadron Interceptors.(WIP)

-New Advanced Specialities, like Ace Fighter or Void Shock Troops (WIP)

-Imperial Navy related talents (WIP)

-Advanced Rules for Aerial Combat (Done, you can take a look here)

-Imperial Aircraft (WIP), planned aircraft includes

    +Valkyrie and Variants

    +Thunderbolt

    +Lightining and variants

    +Marauder and variants

    +Avenger

    +Space Craft (Aqula Lander, Arvus, Fury Interceptor and so on...)

-Enemy Aircraft (WIP) planned aricraft includes

    +Chaos Flyer (Hell-blade/Talon, Harbinger)

    +Dark Eldar Flyers (Void Raven, Razorwing, Raven, Void Dragon)

    +Ork Flyer (Bommer Variants, Dakkajet, Deftkopta, Fighta Variants, Warkopta, Minelayer

    +Severan Dominate Flyer (open to suggestions)

 

Fluff are not included yet, but we hope to insert some one day.

Anyway, I'm now finishing the first batch of Imperial Aircraft, once finished I will start for enemy one...

Speaking of which, I have some idea for the Severan Dominate one. I wish them to have the name of Republic Era Rome characters, like Catiline, Cato, Sulla, Scipio and so on (Roman Emperors will later used for Severan Tank)

I'll clean up my work on the talents, Cybernetics and armoury updates over the next couple of days and update on those. Need the equipment section completed before we can reasonably work on Advanced Specialisms and Regimental Options.

Ok I gota say I cant wait. Anyways (before my PS of fandom) I would like to add abit of cation.

The Navy and the IG HATE eachother. Thats why they are in the rouge trader supplement and not in a only war suplement. They work with eachother rarely,besides planet invasion, and this is evident in the 11th hour adventure. The IG see the Navy as cowards and the Navy sees the IG as just pawns to play around with and dont care who they are hitting aslong as they hit the enemy also.

 

When doing this you should make that clear.

 

Give them negitives when working with other IG regements. Like if a commander on the ground orders a orbital bombadment or air support he has to have an officer of the fleet there to give the order orgive them a -20 fellowship mod for the order etc or else its a "We have orders from high command to not waste ammunition,or a timed bombardment is scedualed to take place in 8 hours 6 minutes and 34 seconds and no order will not change that due to etc etc".

 

Also for the Dominate make them have Navy surplus with some modification based on the area they are in to give them an advantage but have them always outnumberd. The Dominate isnt iffy about changing their gear unlike the Navy so they can have strange modifications to make them better.

 

Ps:I just gota say I been waiting for something like this forever... I been Cheesing it for the past few years as a GM and I gota say its about time. I know that the IG and Navy are diffrent and rarely work togeather and in fact hate eachother but they are in the same combat "zone" as they both have intrests in winning the war... I know in Rouge Trader there was a few flyiers but to see it in Only War is awsome. When its done I am deff going to print it out, put it into a special binder and give it its own special place on my shelf next to the other rulebooks.

Now, please read carefully: this is not mean to be the "Final Form", consider it as a Beta. every rule may be changed if needed. As always, critics is more than welcomed.

 

WHAT YOU WILL FIND:

-stats of the Imperial Navy Aircraft and Spacecraft

-stats of new Imperial Navy weapons and weapons quality

-new "Flyer Only" traits

 

WHAT YOU WILL NOT FIND:

-stats of the Xenos/Heretic/Renegade aircraft and Spacecraft... but I'm now working on them! Next release

-"fluff" description of the new Imperial Navy weapons (It will be added soon anyway, just to let you know what kind of weapon you're using

-imperial aircraft/spacecraft upgrades (is still planned, but it will add later).

 

I just hope you will enjoy the overall work!

Little update on my quarter. Offline we currently have the Navy Specialisms nearly complete. Missing two advances for them. Beyond that, Navy specific comrade orders are in line, and the bestiary section so to speak. It is definitely approaching completion however. Any contributors are welcome.

I would also include more primitive aircraft for PDF use (fun to put into the hands of rebels as mooks) and also a naval gunnery spotting team/air liason and maybe search and rescue regiment options.

Well, I'm not sure I have the time anymore to continue working on this project now that I'm starting my new job so what I'm figuring to do is take the time shortly to type up what I have onto the forums as pure mechanics, with the understanding it isn't complete, but, provides people with some resources to play with for the more airborne / naval oriented regiments.
