The Inquisitors lightsaber

Recommended Posts

Probably an attachment that lets you switch between Lightsaber and a low powered-Blaster mode (like probably not exceeding Holdout Blaster damage). Might have to spend maneuver or something to switch the modes and still with a limit to being only able to switch once a round (So a player can't switch to blaster to fire then back to saber before their turn ends so they have their defensive options back). Hard to say without seeing it in action.

Not really. And lightsabers tend to require their own specific attachments that don't apply to other attachments.

I suppose the closest you could get is using the wrist-mount from Dangerous Covenants. This can let you shove most any Ranged Light Blaster onto your wrist. The gun won't be mounted on the lightsaber, but you could still use the lightsaber for defensive bonuses (Parry/Reflect) while firing off a blaster in the same hand. Technically you could dual wield lightsabers and have the wrist-mounted gun.

But while you're able to still have a free hand while having access to a gun and lightsaber, you don't get what would be the benefit of masking the lightsaber (or providing a bonus to Stealth checks to hide it or whatever) so that you can not be immediately arrested/killed when you have it on your belt.

What about Ezra's new lightsaber? His "set-for-stun blaster/lightsaber combo?"

Nothing official, but as Lathrop said it'd be handled as attachment (probably custom-built) that lets you spend a maneuver to switch from 'saber mode to blaster mode.  I'd put the blaster mode's performance as being on par with a light blaster pistol, but since we've yet to see it in action in the TV series, it could be limited to short range as per a hold-out blaster.  Might even have a drawback similar to the heavy blaster pistol in that the GM can spend 3 Threat to have the blaster attachment run out of ammo.

Would probably require 2 hard points I'd think and perhaps a modification to allow the PC to switch modes as an incidental.

I agree with the 2 HP. But that is 2 HP on the Saber AND 2 HP on the light blaster pistol, right?

It would likely be more of just an expensive individual attachment, than an attachment that pieces two fully individual weapons together. Think more along the lines of the Under-Barrel Grenade Launcher/Flame Projector and how it's its own thing apart from normal Grenade Launchers and Flame Projectors.

He was Inquisitor, a mighty princess - forged in the heat of battle.

While I love Tron-Identity Disc-styled antics, a single lightsaber that has... 5(?) functions/forms would be a little too much. But this is where we enter "toy that is just a toy and doesn't accurately represent the original media" - right? I mean, the lightsaber doesn't seem like it'll actually split and become two single ones... But at the same time, why put in so much effort for functions that won't show up in the show, right?

Anyways, back on topic, If these are actual things, this would start hitting a point where you've got the most expensive and complicated lightsaber/attachment ever if put into an actual game.
