Star wars action figures

Recommended Posts

I have collected the full range of 1977-1983 action figures complete with accessories. When I return back home I will hunt down the remaining POTF figures from 1983 (the range of action figures they released after the ROTJ line). Some of these are hard to get AND can be quite pricey.

If my house was burning down and I had a chance to save either my wife or my toys .... yeeeaahhhh .. tough question.

You know collectable are not covered by regular house insurance.

I have a lot of collectable items and that would suck.

There is insurance you can get for collectibles which I'm thinking of getting.

If you didn't know that, does that make your decision easier :)

Most of the time that specific insurance, and i forget the name of it on my home owners policy isnt much either.  I pay i think 30.00 extra per 6 months to have specifically 25,000 dollars of coverage on collectible firearms.

now, what im not sure of is if thats normal, or if thats just cheap because i have my home owners, her car and my truck, boat, health and life bundled together or not, but i know we don't pay much for it comparatively

Yeah, I remember many winters ago i took out home contents insurance. Fella on the phone asked if I had any collections. I mentioned I had some stamps from when I was a young tacker but that was it. He asked about DVDs .. Yeah, I had about 50 or so. That qualified as a collection and had to be listed seperately.

I asked if this was just a money grab by insurance companies, because (and to use the same example I gave on the phone) by the incurance companies definition of collection I also had a pretty sweet collection of bed linen.

Buddy told me that 'collections' incur no additional costs, but need to be listed on the policy. I'm sure all policies/companies are different though.

Well, the insurance I have does the same thing, only if my house burns down, and my gun safe burns with it (it would have to be one hell of a fire) i get that money on top of my typical home owners policy to recover any costs related to recovering my collection.

25,000 is probably a little over kill, i don't have THAT much, 15,000 would cover it and then some, but it was the smallest add on i could get added to my policy.  it is also suprising how much, or how many things that insurance companies would count as a collectible.

on a funny note, my mercs, cygnar, circle, and retribution army are also listed as collections, as replacing them would be a few thousand.
