Gadge 4,294 Posted December 24, 2014 I've got the dark future short stories book, hes got one of them in there, the start of route 666 iirc Most the rest of the stories are pretty poor cyberpunk
Revanchist 1,063 Posted December 24, 2014 Favorite shows (off the top of my head and in no particular order): Attack on Titan Arrow Flash ST:DS9 Murdoch Mysteries Doctor Who (pre-50th anniversary) Sherlock Primeval Shows I hate: Agents of Shield Star Wars: The Clone Wars Star Wars: Rebels
Robin Graves 6,054 Posted December 24, 2014 Meh i like em. Also the only GW material that mentions Cthulhu in the same sentence as Nurgle. Daemon download is perhaps the weakest.
Gosric 696 Posted December 24, 2014 The Blacklist is very good i think. Though it is is pretty much just because of James Spaders amoral turn. The Americans is also a good show. I was hesitant at first being under the impression that the US cannot make a good spy drama. But i was wrong. On the spy front Spooks is something i rewatch pretty regularly and ihave been enjoying The Game.As far as SF goes Blakes 7, UFO (old but i put them in regularly) Agents of SHIELD (wasnt sure at first but it has caught me) and Fringe.I am a big Matsumoto fan so any of his anime work (Captain Harlock, Galaxy Express and of course Space battleship Yamato) keeps me coming back to rewatch. The Yamato 2199 revamp is everything a revamp should be. im getting the dvds for christmas so i will not have to watch crappy internet copies anymore Hooray! Game of Thrones of course but i think that is a rule now.

Gosric 696 Posted December 25, 2014 I like most of Kim Newman's work Anno Dracula and Bloody Red baron were excellent. I need to pick up The hound of the D'urbervilles
Dagonet 7,246 Posted December 27, 2014 Favourites for the DVD are of course Sopranos, West Wing, Deadwood. We tend to watch series only if there are a couple of seasons already or if it's already completely finished. It saves getting investee in a series that turns to crap (I'm looking at you Heroes)

millernumber1 119 Posted January 2, 2015 The only show I watch regularly is Elementary, as a huge Sherlock Holmes fan. I enjoy other takes (the BBC show, the films, the Jeremy Brett series-all going back to the books, of course), but Elementary brings a really nice new focus on themes from the books that aren't often highlighted. I like other funny shows, most have gotten cancelled. Favorite show of all time is Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Cdr Vimes 60 Posted January 2, 2015 For me in no particular order: Sherlock Lewis Endeavour The100 Breaking Bad House of cards Firefly, obviously. markcsoul 2,135 Posted January 2, 2015 I just got my wife the Chuck blu ray box set for Christmas. My friend had lent his last year for us to watch and we both liked it a lot, especially my wife. It's a great show for anyone who hasn't seen it. Good blend of humor and action, with a lot of nerdy/geeky references as well.
Cdr Vimes 60 Posted January 2, 2015 Guilty I do watch Top Gear though getting a little fed up with it now. Also watch just about anything with Guy Martin in it.
Conandoodle 1,817 Posted January 3, 2015 There have already been many great shows mentioned. But I have yet to see Spartacus mentioned above. Fans of GoT would love it. the show has finished but, like Firefly, it is rock solid from start to finish.Plus, the dudes are hot. Ridiculously hot. Gadge 4,294 Posted January 6, 2015 I've just spent about three evenings powering through 'True Detective' I thought it was pretty brilliant and nice to have a self contained series rather than some rambling behemoth that only gets wrapped up when the ratings start to fall. aadh 385 Posted January 7, 2015 I've just spent about three evenings powering through 'True Detective' I thought it was pretty brilliant and nice to have a self contained series rather than some rambling behemoth that only gets wrapped up when the ratings start to fall. Saw this thread title and stopped by to recommened exactly that show. True Detective is my number one fave on TV. The cinematography is gorgeous, acting is top=notch, and it has just a little undercurrent of Lovecraftian horror built into larger its mythos. I'm glad you're checking it out. Dagonet 7,246 Posted January 7, 2015 Last sunday's first episode of Broadchurch season 2 was great, we'd just binge watched the first season in preparation so we could go straight on, excellent show. The original, I dunno about the US remake.

Black Knight Leader 424 Posted January 7, 2015 Bit predictable but the wife and I are addicted to Game of Thrones Sons of Anarchy Walking Dead (all of the seasons have got a bit brutal lately) and Rebels... slightly less brutal and dark Also we've got a real love for 80s Dr Who and Blakes 7 for a retro sci fi fix. So what are you watching at the mo? Any recomendations. Defiance (Mad Max with aliens) HALO: Nightfall (I think, youll ether love or hate it) MIB animated series. (first season up till couple last eps sucks. Everything else rocks. MLP (heartwarming, beautiful and silly, it does have some very dark stuff in it but not very often. Oh and one character thats all pink will drive you crazy, not the good crazy, if its eps all about her. Sleepy Hollow (Its good but feels like it has plot errors. Get it last)

Gosric 696 Posted January 8, 2015 True Detective was a great show. If you can find it The Fades started out a bit iffy but by the end was excellent. Just finished powering through Yamato 2199 and am rewatching Spooks now as a complete and utter change of pace 1 Robin Graves reacted to this
