Is Bacon becoming overpowered.

Recommended Posts

As a new player, i really struggle with bacon.  its so powerful with upgrades and the rebels seem to have all teh best upgrades, like toast, sausage and pancakes.

and eggs....man dont get me going on eggs, their broken, and they are 360 degrees of goodness from the yolk.  its just too much for a new breakfast eater to even comprehend.  i cant even get my bacon close to the yolk because there is no where that isnt covered by the egg white....i just dont know how to get colse enough to finish it off without throwing away most of my bacon before i close in...then i dont have enough bacon for the yolk.....can someone please help me out here?

i mean with bacon, at least its only a straight line.

You ain't do'n it right. The good ole toast is for sopping up that troublesome egg yolk. You roll the toast around the bacon for the extra taste and toast stability.

Newbies...

And don't you dare ask about hash browns with bacon!

As much as bacon and the lists that run with it are fun, I don't tend to run it because of the lack of it in my meta. Heck, we still have players who make use of fruit upgrade cards with their toast! Personally I'd love the option to use fruit, it can be fun, but the more passive and solid butter and spreads are just too good to give up.

The other thing around here? Cereal. Cold cereal! Sure, you can hunger dodge all you want with the Pass Me Seconds upgrade, but the current meat and starch platters just have all the edge over that! They're fun but... it just lacks substance. Until the Miniature Marshmallows upgrades come into circulation I think they're just too weak for the deployment cost, which has been analyzed to death here.

This might be crazy, but I think that new noodle soup bowl with hearty vegetables might be the way to go. (This is too fun.)

Guys, this isnt mockery, it was me chilling on a sunday morning about to cook breakfast and in a really happy mood and wanting to make a few people smile.

If i've had the opposite effect and annoyed anyone i'm *genuinely* sorry but the overall impression i got was that most people realised i was resurrecting the recurring 'bacon' motif that we tend to bring up as a community if anything gets overly serious

Its toy soldiers guys.

Ironically i wished you all a happy xmas and got one reply... i make a joke about bacon and get five pages of responses.

Is that a bad thing?

No, just means most of you, like myself, can take the micky out of ourslelves.

(note in one thread it, might even be this one, i rip the urine out of myself with a reference to my billion years of experience in tournaments as a GW TO as I *know* i harp on about that all the time but dont mind making fun out of myself for it... in the same way i dont mind others doing it if its in good humour like when someone (fts gecko i think) jokingly likened me to 'uncle albert' from the comedy only fools and horses as his catch phrase was to refer to 'during the war' in *every* conversation he had.   It was funny, i liked that post even though it was mocking me but i could tell the 'mockery' was done in good humour... he could have been cruel about it but instead was funny.    Like others have said... threads like this make the forum FUN)

Wish people "merry christmas" nobody bats an eye.

Make a post about bacon, everybody looses their minds.

See what happens when you wish people "happy bacon"... :)

You stay your usualy funlovvin' self Gadge! Don't let the sourpusses get you down!

oh yeah:

"Happy Days, to everybody!"

Good stuff, i really dont want to make anyone unhappy.

Not my intention.

I'm not really sure how a thread dedicated to the perfect porcine product produced prolifically by pharmers (stretching there) could make anyone unhappy.:)

...the perfect porcine product

Had a conversation at work the other day (yes, we're really busy this time of year), discussing just how awesome and amazing the pig actually is.

Don't get me wrong, I love a nice burger or steak just as much as the next man, and chicken and turkey is fine and dandy too, but just look at what the humble pig does for the culinary world:

Hog roast.

Pulled pork.

Roast pork.

Pork chops.

Gammon.

Ham - all methods and flavours.

The best sausages.

Pork scratchings.

BACON AND ALL IT'S AMAZNG VARIETIES.

...and that's just scratching the surface.  Go continental and you've got things like pepperoni, chorizo, cured pork loin, serrano ham, parma ham, prosciutto, pancetta... the list really does go on...

What other member of the animal kingdom gives us so so much variety?  So much flavour?  So much taste?

Edit:  Oh yeah.  And you get stuff like this too:

The Sith won't touch it, for religious reasons.

I was getting worried that bacon wasn't going to make the breakfast cut anymore... and then FFG cooked me up some Hickory Smoked Bacon Aces!  Bacon is back with a vengeance.  Take that pancakes!

no, this is COMPLETELY useless.  Those upgrades dont do enough to offset Bacon's slipping power level.  i mean, even if you put those upgrades on bacon, it still dies to an eggs 360 degree field of goodness.
