The Scarlet Squadron

Recommended Posts

The Rebellion had come to the swift realization that their forces were outnumbered greatly and access to newer technology was a rare occurrence in their battles against the Imperial forces.  In lieu of such luxuries, reliance on small but efficient Squadrons was a must.  A small Squadron made up of twelve Rebel ships piloted by skilled and proven fliers was assembled with the single mission of hunting and exterminating valuable targets including but not limited to well known aces and infamous flying units.

The Scarlet Squadron honed their skills in regular combat missions as well as frequent scenario-based sorties.  Unadvertised, those who were marked as having the potential to serve in the Squadron were notified and whisked away if they accepted to a unit hidden behind closed doors and red tape.  News of their victories was abundant, losses were never reported; this was an agreeable stipulation to inclusion into this famous unit, whose members were never identified to those within the Rebellion for fear of undue stress and hardship in dealing with popularity.

Their methods were simple; enemy forces would be identified and marked for execution.  The choice of vessels employed was left to the unit as a whole, whose exceptional group experience would lead to a plan with the best chance of survival after initial contact.  Obviously great pains were taken to ensure all members returned safely, but if need be, ships lost were always detonated to keep the menacing squadron unidentifiable by Imperial forces.

The Squadron colors are Granite, Slate, and Crimson Red.  Variations in pattern is normal, and choice of pattern is that of the pilot; colors are not.

Ok,will retake the photos tomorrow against a black background, good idea!

Glad you all like.  Simple to execute, would think it would be an easy process with whatever colors.  All ships done in about a total of 12 hours including priming and whatnot.

I really don´t like the look of E-Wings. But yours...., your E-Wing makes me want to buy one.

*bows*

I like the A-wings the best.  Its awesome how you made each ship individualized, gives it a scrappy rebel feel

Thanks you two! Give it a go is all I can say! It is relatively simple and painting a single ship would probably take no more than two hours in the way I did it. Let me know if you need a bit of info!

Thanks! But no..., I am sadly totally inept at delicate paintwork.

But that only makes me respect those who can even more. :D

I am a great, great fan of the prepainted models!

Thanks FFG! :D

I don't doubt it, some aspects of certain hobbies are not enjoyed by others!  I can totally understand that sentiment.

Anyway, updated the pics with a more thematic background

annnnnd, I am also working on another model.  Should be done within the next couple days, probably before this weekend kicks off, that way I can use it!  Already primered and ready to be painted...

you know what, I passed this thread the other day, not knowing it was a repaint post. Now coming back to it after your post of the 2400 in the Repaint thread, I have to say these are extremely well done, Bravo!

Normally I pump my fist negatively at the use of metallics on such a small mini, but these work great.
