Parravon 5,217 Posted March 2, 2016 This is a great example of a threat NOT to resurrect. A hot button topic at the time where an initial opinion turned out to NOT be the way thing eventually turned out working. I don't think it was an initial opinion as much as it was a ruling that was completely reversed in the FAQ, probably due to it being an extremely unpopular initial ruling to start with. Clearly, Olancho has been away from the game for a while.
StevenO 2,996 Posted March 2, 2016 This is a great example of a threat NOT to resurrect. Perhaps it was a "ruling" but it pretty much went against everything in the rules which EXPLICITLY allowed alterations to how dials looked. I know I said it at times back then but if someone had never mentioned the idea that "dials must match the faction the ships are being used in" it never would have become an issue. It was extremely unpopular because those who could read the rules could see that it shouldn't make any difference and if needed to drive sales there were still pilot cards and base tiles to force those. The only real reason to require dials to match faction is a severe case of OCD but plenty more people climbed on simply because someone said so. This is still a terrible thread to resurrect from the dead as more than 4 pages worth of it is now completely meaningless. 1 Parravon reacted to this
JeffJedi 19 Posted March 3, 2016 But what if I only want 9 eggs? I'm forced to buy a whole loaf of bread to make a sandwich!
