STAR WARS REBELS ship screen captures

Recommended Posts

That's a ludicrous design flaw as it makes for a pretty obvious vulnerability and juicy target for attacking ships. Is that a canon requirement for Imperials, all of their ships have to have ludicrous design vulnerabilities?

Quite the opposite. The reactor no doubt fits in the ship. but without the bulge would be vunerable. That bulge is armour plate intended to remove the design flaw.

Best shot of the attack shuttle so far.15287639567_9776af7b7b_o.jpgAside from the concept artPhantom_Attack_Shuttle.jpgSo I'm wondering now it FFG can make a detachable miniature for the attack shuttle, with it's own small base.

Or maybe a box set with 2 separate models.

I wonder if this was the inspiration.

Oh absolutely. And I'm perfectly okay with that, too. If old silly toys that were never used get to see the light of day, revamped? How awesome would that be?

Any skilled rebel is going to know where the main reactor is anyway.

And any rebel who's lived long enough to tango with an ISD knows not to do so.

Since Im doing a 3D model of this I can explain how the Phantom works. It can dock into the Ghost both ways. To dock into the Ghost the wings first have to fold covering the brown/green part.

Here you can see a picture of the Ghost without the Phantom:

Also, in this image, even if its concept art, you can see how much is part of the Ghost and how much is part of the Phantom

The thing is, I doubt FFG will make them detachable, because for that they will need to make the wings of the Phantom be able to fold (or change the design)

Where did you get this?

I've seen all four shorts and the 2 season one episodes and I haven't seen them use the shuttle.

I wonder where those yellow stripes the arrow is pointing at disappeared to. Unless they are part of flaps that fold over the shuttle after it docks.

So there are hinges near the body also, which make it easier to model a miniature with folding wings.

Just slip it straight down into Ghost's body.

Hold up, ONE of those is concept art. We don't know quite yet what the docking capabilities of the phantom are.

Look at the wings of the Phantom they fold like a burrito around the fighter. And you can see a bit of those yellow stripes on the wings of the Phantom.

Those images are from google images. You also have to remember the little online shorts. But no, we havent seen the Phantom out yet.

I don't know what the source books say, but I always imagined that bulge on the belly of the ISD being a sensor or antenna array. we see similar things on modern combat vessels and aircraft. It would also help them "see" under the ship, which would be invaluable in docking operations.

With the EU delegitimized, there's no telling what the new Star Wars Nicaean conclave will determine to be canon in the future. However, the EU material was very clear about the fact that that bulge was armor to protect the very large round reactor inside of the main structure of the ISD. But, if you want to have your own interpretation - have fun. ;)

Oddly their B-wing is looking pretty accurate.

What the...what the HECK would B-Wings be doing 5 years before the Battle of Yavin...

So you don't know of any TV series that lasted 5 years. I think those are just info spots for toys, and they may eventually end up in the show, but it could be a long ways away from now.

Here I go again...

pic2265825_lg.jpg

The miniature itself is a beauty. I took a lot of time adding detail (details that the show doesnt even have) and the proportion is perfect. Ive made the little fighter/shuttle as a detachable craft. Since I couldnt do the folding wings, there are two little miniatures. The one that can fit the ship (forwards or backwards like in the show) and the one that has a peg and works as a FFG ship.

You can get it here:

OR
https://www.shapeways.com/model/2751215/fantasma-y-espectro-1-270-two-parts.html
You can try getting it here. Its the same size and ship. The difference is the model is split in half. It reduces the cost but you will have to glue the two parts. If you buy it in Frosted Detail or Frosted Ultra Detail I recomend you get the one part version.

The Ghost is absolutely stunning. But- and I HATE to say this since the ghost is so awesome, I think you fudged the wings of the phantom a little bit. Last I checked, they didn't stick our straight, but instead, had a bit of an L shape to them, similar to the Lambda Shuttle wings in various ways.

Other than that though, the ghost you made is absolutely beautiful. 100/10 would buy.
