Seek and the Jedi Exiles

Recommended Posts

The Jedi exiled after the 100 year darkness travelled through a nigh un-navigable area of the galaxy (at the time) to arrive on Korriban (Moraband).

Sensing the planet, a refuge, in the darkness of space, they followed the force in a way a normal navigator could not.

This is all according to the Bok of the Sith. Sounds like the Seek power to me.  Just an interesting little snipet, a way to see seek in action.

Like a guild navigator?  Also a distinct possibility.

I hadn't thought of it in exactly those terms, but now that you mention it...

Back in the WEG days, there was a power called Instinctive Astrogation (pretty much let the Force user skip the need for a navi-computer when plotting a course through hyperspace), and it could be taken as either Foresee or Seek in this system.

I think that it not being an entirely clear-cut answer gives the GM a certain degree of flexiblity, which generally speaking is nice.

Of course, there's also the matter of "does using Foresee to observe something count as having 'encountered' it for the purposes of Seek?"  Which was a question I asked in the Game Mechanics section and probably should be addressed in some form, particularly if that combo isn't meant to work.

As a GM I would totally allow this, knowing that I was in full control of what the "Foresee" power revealed. If you don't want them to find it with seek, don't reveal it with a Foresee. As always I do agree that making things like this more explicit in the rules is good, even if the clarification is a blurb that seeking items that have been foreseen is up to GM discretion.
