Petition against NetrunnerDB Cease & Desist

Recommended Posts

i cannot believe how incredibly dumb this move is FFG. you must be coming out with your own POS card data base and deck builder, and you just cannot stand up to the competition. chances are you stole your ideas from other fan based sites.

how about you leave good people alone, but no you cannot do that because there is not a buck in it for you. your pathetic, and quite frankly ...your game never matched up to the original anyways....maybe i should contact Games Workshop and let them know you stole all of their intellectual property and came up with Descent, which is a DIRECT rip off of Advanced Hero quest.

this is why you reissue games that have already been made. because you dont have a original thought in your pea brain.

what a suck a$$ company....

Can't agree more. I don't understand this decision, don't understand what is the meaning of this. Witch hunt ? Then at least, allow player to have an excellent deckbuilder website like Netrunnerdb is for now. What's the next step ? Trial against people do their own alt-cards ?

Signed.

i recall once you buy a product, its pretty much yours to do with as you please.

create your own leauges. make third party playing pieces. create fan art alt art stuff for prizes....and do not depend on FFG for any support.

this is a place called America, where once we buy something its OURS to do with as we please. you got your money you filthy greedy pathetic group of individuals. so eff you FFG.

i am now going to make porn alt art cards...

whatcha gonna do now FFG.

so shut your face.

FFG, you are alienating your own fanbase. You provide paper cards and event organization but not online communities. We want online communities, we create them. Let us share our enthusiasm or you will lose your fans.

And no, cardgamedb is not adequate. You're not fooling anyone

I have purchased every netrunner expansion and will stop completely if netrunner.db gets shut down.  I do not do much of my own deck building and the main draw of this game for me is the many creative decks I can find on netrunnerdb.com.  If this is the way FFG chooses to treat its super fans who are enhancing the community and not making ANY money off of FFG intellectual property, I will spend my money on a company that supports them instead.  This is major BAD PUBLICITY waiting to happen.  I will share the news far and wide and I will save a ton of money by not purchasing any FFG product ever again.  I was planning on purchasing all Warhammer Conquest, Lord of The Rings LCG, and Netrunner cards, as well as many FFG board games.  It's your move FFG.  Either reach a compromise or partner with netrunnerdb or I will cease any and all future purchases with you.  I am not alone.

Eh, while I want netrunnerdb back since I use it a lot. I understand the decision, I doubt it is so much because it is better and more because they offer highrez images of all the cards which FFG does not seem to like. Probably because of a combo of octgn and a small fear of people just printing out cards and making that a worse option.

Also registered just to back this up.

Netrunnerdb is an awesome fan made site.

I use Netrunnerdb all the time, but I own all the physical cards released and I feel confident that most of us do.

FFG, if you are after the card art, please request to take the art down, not the whole site!

If it is not the art, than what is?

It's really sad that Fantasy Flight decided to shoot itself in the foot like this.  Netrunnerdb.com is simply trying to grow the netrunner community and ultimately Fantasy Flight's bottom line by offering alternative deckbuilding and sharing options.  The fact that Fantasy Flight decided to sic it's lawyers blindly makes me think a great deal less of them.  I'm personally boycotting all Fantasy Flight products and encouraging everyone else I know in my community to do the same.

This is a pretty easy one for me.  I vote with my wallet and if this site goes down I don't buy any more cards.  Pretty simple.  That by itself will cost FFG more than had they just left it alone.  I have plenty of other things to do with my time and places to spend my money.

Its sad.  I do not expect FFG to care at all, I liked netrunnerdb and its sad that FFG lacks desire to facilitate us, the player, by allowing a superior UI design to be leveraged.  I think I am done buying the cards now.  I no longer feel like they respect me as a consumer.

FFG -- I'm saddened you are going down the dark path that so many large companies do.  Best of luck with your new business strategy.

Signed! These fansites are multiplicators for the game! Shutting them down really hurts the community and correspondingly your company! Please reconsider your decision, FFG!
