Wolfwood 0 Posted May 30, 2009 Just waiting on some cards from the mail but been wanting to make Algol since I saw the character spoiled on the fourms..Algol. 4x 5/4 Tag Along3x 0/5 Malicious Intent +1M 2x 3/5 Pseudo-Soul Caliber +3H Unique2x 2/5 Tower of Rememberance- Degredation +2M Terrain2x 0/6 Olcadan's Mentoring +0L 4x 6/3 Kuzuryu Reppa +1H M:13x 5/3 Alshain Najm +3H Algol Combo4x 5/3 Alaraph Achernar +2L4x 4/2 Alphard Maliki Throw 4x 0/4 Saikyo Ryu +3H4x 1/5 Altered Mind and Body +1M4x 1/6 Return to Southtown +0H3x 2/4 Demuth's Sponsorship +0L4x 2/4 Fight or Flight +2M4x 2/5 Fatherly Love4x 2/5 Body of Souls4x 2/5 Trapped in a Nightmare +3H3x 3/4 Bitter Rivals +2MCards in Total: 68Draw, discard, Hit hard with a Alshain Najm. For the low attack to proceed Alshain Najm I wasn't too sure to either Alphard Maliki, Dash Low or Double Cyclone punch. Dash Low can give my check to the combo attack +2, I can recycle Double Cyclone Punch with body of souls, and the throw is a throw. I traded my white gi's to get a Jon Herr but I still have my Demuth's for momentum generation and if I add Double Cyclone it would be easier to gain some. solstice2 0 Posted May 30, 2009 I would take out tower of remembrence for two psuedo soul calibur. getting both of those out are sick with algols finisher. As for the low attack i use ivy stuff in my algol and I would recomend them. All of her stuff gives 3cc so thats a plus also they have nifty effects too. I also use algols low throw attack boosting it with fight or flight before the combo kill. Hope this helps and good luck algol is a fun character. Da_ghetto_gamer 0 Posted June 1, 2009 i think that either return to southtown or powerful style should go for fight or flight but thats just me i know powerful style is good but when your relying on one card as a finisher as opposed to a few then it makes it less useful and your difficulties are pretty low so you dont need so many low check foundations Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Tifer 0 Posted June 5, 2009 I HIGHLY suggest Researching the Past. Especially with Algol. With Researching the Past you can essentially set up your next checks, or the next cards you want to draw. Discarded a card for a check but want it in your hand? Researching the Past to get them to the top of your deck in any order, and then Fatherly Love them back into your hand! Like using Algol's ability to discard your hand but want to keep a few things? Put the cards you want to keep on top and do it all over again! Experience from playing Algol myself is to abuse the crap out of that combo, however, you definitely should add more cards into your deck. The moment you run into a Flying Power Bomb, it's going to hurt. You really don't need help milling out your deck, considering Algol does it enough.. xD Also, I'd run Seeking Treasure in there too, just in case you check one of those oh so awesome Psuedo Soul Caliburs. Just add it to your hand! Algol's a lot of fun, but he definitely takes a lot of tweaking to get right. Also, not sure what your intentions are on Saikyo-Ryu, but if you're looking at it because of the discarding, it doesn't work toward Alshain Najm. Finally got some Flames of Fame and had some room to put it in. I only have one researching the past so they will go in once I get more. I would probably take out fight or flight and move it into the side board. Let me know what you guys think. and I am making it before I crash so let help would be nice.
