A quick question about insanity

So as i understand it, when a character goes insane from the horror conflict he is removed from the story( running away and whatnot). does this also apply to effects that make characters insane(i.e. King in Yellow)? So for example, i win the horror conflict, but during the investigation conflict my opponent uses King in yellow to make my character insane, is he still involved in the story and I could ready him using Arkham asylum, or is he just gone and the story phase ends? It says that a character cannot commit to a story while insane, but it doesnt say if a character already committed is un-committed. We just rock-paper-scissors'd it, but I can see it both ways.

once the stories start to resolve actions cant be triggered. so they would either have to use king in yellow before the first struggle resolves or after success is determined. and im pretty sure once a character goes insane its no longer commited to a story, no matter what caused the insanity.
