SpikeSpiegel 2,077 Posted August 3, 2014 Does anyone else find themselves loving their E-Wings more every time they play them? I've been running a two ship Han and Corran build lately and I've just been loving the E-Wing so much more than my other Rebel ships (with the exception of the B-Wing, of course). Corran's ability to shoot twice in around by giving up the next shooting phase is great pressure against enemy ships, and the E-Wing's great dial makes him great for gunning and running. Load him up with FCS and Predator and you've got rerolls all day! And then we have E'tahn turning your whole squad into crit-machines. Running him with B-Wings and going jousting against petty, little, shieldless TIEs is fun beyond belief! There's nothing I love more than chewing through imps. Fly him with Biggs or just point him at some poor sucker while another ship takes a shot at them Sure, the E-Wing may be a little expensive and have the chance of getting insta-killed by a Direct Hit, but they make up for it with an awesome dial, awesome agility and awesome named pilots. 4 Ailowynn, VanorDM, shaner and 1 other reacted to this
Freizeitheld 3 Posted August 3, 2014 (edited) E-Wing! Love it! It's a great ship with great pilots! I'm running this... Corran Horn + R2 Astromech + Push the Limit + Fire-Control System + Engine Upgrade (45) I played him a couple of times in combination with... Han Solo + C3-PO + Gunner + Millennium Falcon (55) I like that 2-ship-list very much! Maybe I will try Corran with this upgrades in combination with two B-Wings, FCS and Ioncannons ... could be fun, too. I usually pair up Han and Corran for Phantom fighting! Han Solo + Veteran Instincts + C-3PO + Gunner + Falcon title + Engine Upgrade (60) Corran Horn + Predator + FCS I could definitely seeing Corran playing as a flanker for two B's. He's kind of like a Soontir Fel for rebels, albeit not as cost effective or tricky, but close to being as deadly.
Rocket Launcher 64 Posted August 3, 2014 I tried: Corran + FCS + PTL + APT + Stealth 3x Bandits with Homing missiles. I also tried Corran+ FCS + PTL + APT + Stealth Etahn + FCS + PTL + APT + Stealth Gotta love that little Rebel ship.
BCooper85 230 Posted August 3, 2014 I have two of them and love them, even though I'm on a huge losing streak! The best way I can describe them is 'jinky'.

quasistellar 736 Posted August 3, 2014 Love the named ones. Can't find any good reason to ever used the unnamed ones.
LaserBrain 179 Posted August 3, 2014 It's a great ship. Sturdy, versatile, but pricey once you start adding upgrades. Corran can eat up half your points if you're not careful, and you can run Etahn naked to fit in a mini-swarm, but at 5 PS he's better with a little protection. I wanted to be able to run two E-Wings in a 4-ship list, and I've had some success running EEZZ with generic pilots: Blackmoon Squadron + R7 + Fire-Control System Blackmoon Squadron + R7 + Fire-Control System Tala Squadron + Ion Pulse Missiles + Munitions Failsafe Tala Squadron + Ion Pulse Missiles + Munitions Failsafe
Narcoleptic 304 Posted August 3, 2014 Can someone tell me why so many like using Predator together with FCS?
Dagger Squadron 214 Posted August 3, 2014 (edited) You still get the re roll and can use a TL on your shot then aquire another one for next round Edited August 3, 2014 by Dagger Squadron
Sekac 3,311 Posted August 3, 2014 You still get the re roll and can use a TL on your shot then aquire another one for next round Yeah but you could just take predator and have almost identical results. It's a waste of points.
SpikeSpiegel 2,077 Posted August 3, 2014 Predator + FCS is useful if you fire at a different target other than the one that's been TL'ed, you don't have to change your TL to the other target to reroll. It's great against TIE swarm when you have a TL on Howlrunner but feel like toasting the Academy TIE at range 1 because Howl is out of range or at range 3. And my favorite thing to do after using Corran's ability is to 5 straight the bantha out of there. So many people don't expect the E-Wing to be so nimble. They probably guess that you're going to bank left or right to get back into the fight ASAP, but road running it and doing a 3 K is just as fun. It's true, there are occasionally times where Predator+FCS aren't redundant, but many more times when they are. Or for 1 more point you can get Adv Sensors which is never redundant, and increases the versatility of an already versatile and nimble ship. Predator+FCS is a poor use of points. BEAULONEA 35 Posted August 3, 2014 I think the E-wings look fantastic! I have two of them, but just need to spend more time with them on the table. I know LucusFilm has thrown out the EU, but I'm crossing my finger on seeing this ship in one of the sequel trilogy films. Here's hoping. 1 YwingAce reacted to this
YwingAce 2,546 Posted August 3, 2014 I don't have an E-wing, but they look pretty good, stat-wise, and aesthetically speaking
Ninbur 31 Posted August 3, 2014 I like very much the 2 ships formation with Chewie and Corran. Etahn is great for 5 ships formations. This week I want to try 3 E wing squad, just because they are amazing! 1 Voxslain reacted to this
Wilhelm Screamer 1,229 Posted August 3, 2014 Pretty solid ship, I had fun with corran horn and a FCS lately I also like giving them a hull upgrade because 2 just feels so fragile

Horn with FCS is just asking for Marksmanship. The action lasts for the entire round, and the second shot (if you need it) has a target lock stacked with Marksmanship. I took out Howlrunner and another named Tie (don't remember which one) in a single round with this Corren build... Guess I didn't need FCS for that one, but it came into play later. ErrantKknight 63 Posted August 4, 2014 I ran E'tan with 2 daggers with Adv Sensors and a lonely Tala. Too much fun. B-wings stuck in a furball with an e-wing hanging out on the edges hading out crits is awesome.
Metus 1 Posted August 4, 2014 Corran has, by a large margin, become my favorite pilot. My current list is: -Corran + PTL + Adv Sensors + Engine Upgrage -Biggs + R2D2 -Tala Squadron x2 It doesn't give Corran the attack rerolls, but it makes him ridiculously maneuverable. TheGreedyMerchant 255 Posted August 4, 2014 I busted out my E-wing for the first time yesterday for two games. (One of them a standard game the other an epic game) Corran is turning into my favorite rebel pilot. In both games he did some pretty crazy things with his double tap ability. I've only ran this squad once but I really like it... Corran Horn: Fire Control System, Marksmanship, Shield Upgrade, R2-D2. 48 Points 4 X Tala Squadron Pilots. 52 Points

FCS is just an awesome auto-include on him. I just wish all the E-Wng pilots were a point or two less. I would recommend running that same squad but with E'tahn instead and allocating your points so that you can fit Airen Cracken with Swarm Tactics in there. I feel like Corran would do much better in a squad with more heavy support, like dual X's or B's, to make up for his turn in which he doesn't attack. Lagomorphia 1,285 Posted August 4, 2014 I have one E-wing. He doesn't see much use sadly. I must resolve to treat him better.
