What should I scratch build next?

I'm currently leaning towards a Delta-class JV-7 Escort shuttle but the Star Wars universe is big and I probably don't know even a fourth of all the ships that exist.

 

 

And the first person to suggest a Star Destroyer or something equally big, gets a nuclear boot to the head.

Regarding the escort shuttle, on the other hand, this is my favorite visual version of it:

 

 

Yes I really like that version as well, especially the wings as they would be easier to build, but that's the only picture of it that seem to exist.

Yeah, a Sentinel would be great. I think the shuttle you're wanting is a little close to the Lambda in capabilities and size. The sentinel is about twice the length and was a lot more capable.

Or maybe a YT-2000. One of the few of the YT series I actually liked. Symmetry is sexy.

It doesn't keeps some people from speculating...

But I'll see if I can find something more.

 

 

With a hull like that I wouldn't expect the bottom to be too much different than the top.

Then of course there's this side view.

This version looks to share a lot of parts with the Lambda. You could likely extrapolate the bottom view from it. From a manufacturing standpoint it makes sense that similar models share assemblies to cut costs.

The KR-TB "Doomtreader" was a freighter produced by Corellian Engineering Corporation. It had expansive cargo holds, heavy deflector shields and dual laser cannons, but came at a relatively high price.

The thing is, while I really do like this JV-7 (as opposed to the other one), I don't think this really gives you much added value, though because it's suppsed to be a bit bigger than the Lambda, you might pick up something like this and be well on your way.

 

On the other hand, that might be a bit too easy for you. How challenged do you want to be at this point?

Three cheers for that, it's a really cool looking ship. 

Even if it is lightly armed, it would still be great in a scenario.

 

Although, the Wookieepedia article says one turret

and in the drawing on the same page it has two.

Plus, in one of the images it looks silver like the

J-type 327 Nubian royal starship,

a paint job that would be fabulous.

I am well aquainted with the DP-20, and I have fond memories of it from some of the older Star Wars computer games. That said, I'm not very interested in building one. Partly because I've always found the design to be fairly odd and somewhat ugly and partly because I suspect it to be rolled out from FFG as an epic ship in the future.

As for the SunCrusher some people are talking about, nothing could be simpler. I'll just take a hat of a particularly pointy pen, cut it to the appropriate length and put a small lego saucer on top. Done! As for balancing it? Also simple, if you bring it to the table you win! Seriously, whoever came up with the Suncrusher to begin with deserves a nuclear boot to the head. Overpowered piece of sheit.

well, may be you'd like you to try a hand on X-70B, an imperial ship build for Sith special ops. I'll give you a clue, look for F-19 fighter, Revell kit in 1:144 for inspiration.
