Issue with non flexible players.

Recommended Posts

Rather than feeding them, Nurgle heretic is more likely to cut the food supply entirely, and when population in despair resorts to corpse-eating and cannibalism - that's when nurgle cults will flourish, promising deliverance from hunger and suffering.

You can make this outcome of events tetriary for plague marine when they get their hands on food supplies - if you don't want to infest food, that is.

Well the thing is I was going to have have them do that at another point. Right now they need a population that is healthy to start revolting. Not the shambling zombies we all know and love. They need a raving horde of blood thirsty mobs demanding that the nobles be over thrown and then boom Chaos saves the day proving the Emperor is false.

But you guys are giving me new ideas to test latter.

Plagues can act incredibly slow, though. Just have him see if he can make a plague that takes a long, long time to incubate, and that becomes virulent before there's any visible signs.

Also, like Terraneaux said, either way works for chaos. Plague Zombies can be incredibly resilient, and there is nothing saying that they'll even become "shambling zombies", they might even retain full control of their faculties. If he scores well on whatever he needs to do to create a good plague, you might make plague zombies that are fast, angry and cunning, driven to spread the plague again and again and again.

Try to find ways to make you all happy and find goals that aren't mutually exclusive, or when they are, cleverly hidden from eachother. Tertiary Objectives are pretty much made to be mutually exclusive from each other, anyway. As long as the player isn't being deliberately obnoxious, it should be fine.

Do it both ways.

Nurgle would rather take his time, win over the locals, then infect them with Plague X.

In case that doesn't happen, you infect them with Plague Y today. If left alone, Plague Y will turn them into plague zombies of lurve in two to three years. If they are infected with Plague X in the meantime, however, Plague Y will go dormant and they will instead become awesome.

Tzeentch isn't the only one who can hedge his bets.

Well the Plague marine didn't get to poison the food since the champion made the call and offered it to the people. However for the next mission they have to poison the eastern lower hive water supply. Will that appease Nurgle since they will die of disease ?

Why kill people with Disease when you can get Plague Zombies and forge Vid/Vox evidence that it was the Hives "Decadent" Nobles idea to poison the water supply to get rid of the common peasants and get few thousand angry plague infested hive dwellers to attack upper Hive levels

Your Group just happens to have this proof  ^_^

Yes. Poisoning the water is classic nurglesque behaviour. For best results poison the water with the rotting-but-identifiable corpses of some downhivers to get the populace really riled up.

For that matter, sabotage the up-hive life sustainers such that their waste is provably what's poisoning the downhive water.

After all, you want to get the spire nobles angry as well. Nothing feeds a revolt like annoying arrogant rulers so they try and "clamp down" and "teach the proles a lesson".....

I love this idea. Poison the upper hives by dumping a diseased body of an underhiver worker into their water supply. Then sabotage the upper-hives life sustainers to taint the water of the lower hives.

Both social cliques will start hating eachother, and they'll all be poisoned, and they'll blame the plague on eachother. Genius!

Okay so we have been playing for awhile and now I've hit another road block. I have NPC Night Lord with his power scythe and the Plague Marine character keeps trying to take it from him. Heck even the mini human Khorne berserker player charged at the Plague Marine. Thank fully a fight was avoided when our Choosen pinned them down. But should I just give the scythe over or make him earn his own?

Personal question, why would a Space Marine disrespect another Space Marine's wargear, heretic or otherwise?

It seems a bit - weird.

However, if he wants it so much, and it fits with the story, why not let him challenge the Plague Marine for it.

And if he wins it, have it come back and bite him later either via a Complication, revenge or incompatibility with Nurgle's gifts (i.e. give him Corruption through a Failing).

Pet peeve of mine: Space marine players who don't know anything about space marines.

Just have the Night Lord leave. Hit the entire group with a failing, and have any and all marines they meet in the future refuse to even talk to them, while the plague marine is around. That much disrespect for another marine should make him a pariah, because he isn't acting like a marine, he's acting like a greedy child.

You mean, why would a chaos space marine dedicated to notoriously jealous and capricious elder gods of the whimsical, demented and corrupting empyrean disrespect another chaos space marine's wargear, if they were part of completely different legions dedicated to different gods competing for different ideals and resources? Individualist legions that broke from the loyalist Imperium due to snapping like twigs under rigid conformism?

The answers to this is simple.

They hate eachother.

The real problem here is his lack of discipline. Presumably the Night Lord is with the group for a reason, i.e., they need him for something. At the very least a space marine should possess enough combat discipline to save such things such as "stealing a valuable allies' weapon" for after the night lord is no longer relevant.

If you truly hate someone, why take his shoes?

That will only give him sore feet..

Yeah give it to him, right through the abdomen. I mean there's only so much a marine should put up with even from "team mates" teach him a lesson that if he wants something he's going to have to be a bit smarter about it.

Hmm... maybe just maybe the Night Lord could do what in he is the best and scare/terrorize the living sh*t out of the plague marine then giving him the scythe as he is a pathetic weakling who needs it more than he .

(of course power-field generator teared out)

There's no need to be mean about it.

Player: I attack him and steal his weapon.

Night Lord: *defending* This weapon is of little use to the one-handed, brother, stand down.

Player: Huh? What? Gimme your weapon! Weapons for the weapon bunny! Power for the powergamer!

Night Lord: *chop*

Player: Um ... Ow?

Night Lord: I did warn you. Now stand down, it is of little use to the handless either.

It even gives him some nice character development.

Well what happened was Nurgle marine pissed off a war band of Night Lords they needed for helping them latter. So they are being sent on a mission to redeem themselves and IRONICALLY makes Nurgle  very displeased.  They must pick flowers from the Emperors garden. So evil but in all seriousness   they need to spread fear and terror in hard ways to make the Lords happy.

Hey guy's we are about to start a Black Crusade campaign with a Renegade , Plague Marine, Champion, and Apostate. However the Plague Marine won't listen to anyone at the moment saying he will do everything to appease Nurgle and will take the fun out of the story...... How do I fix it and still let him worship Nurgle without him taking everyone off the track.

Easy... punish him if he does something warranting it.  Eventually, the players will police his actions... generally by PKing.  It's BC, baby... that's par for the course.
