Upcoming Changes to the Fantasy Flight Games Forums   01/20/2017

Hello Fantasy Flight Games forum community!   This week, we will be making some important changes to your Fantasy Flight Games community account and the way that you log into the Fantasy Flight Games community forums and web store.   We have been working hard to integrate with the rest of the Asmodee group, and we are happy to announce a unified way to access all the websites and apps made by Fantasy Flight Games, Days of Wonder, and Asmodee!   For most users, nothing will change: you will still log into the Fantasy Flight Games forums using your current login name and password. Only the login user interface will be new.   For a few users, your credentials might be slightly changed. For example, this could happen to users who have both a Fantasy Flight Games and Days of Wonder account, or in the case of conflicting login names across platforms. When these situations occur, special e-mails will be sent to those users with an easy explanation about those changes and what steps to take next. For any of you receiving those e-mails, please make sure to follow the instructions carefully.   Remember, official communications from Fantasy Flight Games or Asmodee.Net will never ask for your password.   What are the benefits for you as a player? Using a unified account to access all of our web services and apps makes your life simpler. Over time, you will see new features emerging, such as keeping all of your friends under a single account, finding friends easily in apps with online play, or developing your personal profile by adding to your board games collection. These are just some of the features that you will see during the next year, once this important technical step is complete.   Important note: The migration of the forums to our new system will take place on Tuesday, January 24th. The forums will be offline for about two hours during that time. Once the migration is complete, older forum posts may look strange for up to 24 hours as we rebuild them in our new system.   We can’t wait to connect our board game communities and build bridges between universes, game systems, players, events, groups, game clubs, and more! This is only the first step in bringing people and games closer together. For more information, read our FAQ at https://asmodee.helpshift.com/a/asmodee-net/.   Best regards,   The Fantasy Flight Games Team

I with I had another A-Wing or a z-95, but I didn't, so I slapped Stealth device, Test pilot, and Outmanuver on each of the A-wings to bring the points up to 96.

I faced dual bomber, dual academy, and Vader list, with each bomber having a missile of some sorts and a seismic charge, and Vader had squad leader.

He split up all his forces, which really hammered Etahn's effect, but for the first two turns of shooting, it was great.  Got four crits on a bomber (counsel fire and stunned pilot killed it as it kept bumping and loosing actions thanks to space traffic jams :D ) in the first turn, and then procided to evenly crit everything else, and then mid-game happened.

No ships died, as only etahn had the firepower, and my opponent was lucky.  The a-wings pushed the limit A LOT, either evading and boosting or focusing and evading or focusing and target locking.

One was hit by bombs twice, but after looking at the rules, bombs aren't secondary weapons, and we decided that it didn't lose stealth device.

Etahn and R2-D2 tanked about 10 or more hits through shields or evade tokens, barrel-rolling, ptl to do something else, and then preforming a green 2 bank to clear a stress and regen a shield felt... broken.  But then again at 46 points, it should pull its weight.

After 4 rounds of scattered manuvering, I finally regrouped through the asteroid field and blew apart two tie fighters in one round of shooting (Everyone focused and target locked) and twice i got hit hit crit, with Etahn changing one of the hits to a crit, and them dodging the normal hit, suffering dual crits.  It was brutal, and amazing.

Need some bomb clarification (do they remove stealth device, and when do they detonate, after EVERYONE moves, or after the bomber moves?) and a third a-wing, but having a three ship list with 3-4 evade dice each, an evade action, and PtL was SUPER fun.

Finished with him having Vader with no shields, and a Bomber with 3 crits and a hit left, while I had 2 a wings with no shields, and an E-wing, who along with R2-D2 and that evade action, tanked WAY more damage than it should have.  I took the evade as a temporary shield, and if shots got through they hit the evade first, and the shields second, which helped a lot, allowed R2-D2 to regen shields without taking any hull damage. (i lost all 4 shields like 3rd-4th turn and spent 5 turns trying to top back off, which worked.

Deffinatly going to run Etahn again, but thinking of using X-wings next time, instead of a's.

I have to tell yeah, I'm deeply impressed with the performance of Etahn. I have been playing around with him since the wave 4 release. I've gone the Z way and the X way. You are way better off running X's with him. The Z swarm with him is ok but at times it felt very difficult to get significant damage through, especially if facing a foe with 3+ evade dice. With the X's at his side the Tie-Fighters was like handing bubble wrap to a 5 year old, so much popping!

Seismics go off after everyone moves. I'd agree that they are not an attack.

This. "At the end of the activation phase" means after everybody has moved (including huge ships if you're in Epic mode). And the effect with regard to Stealth Device is dealt with on page 9 of the current FAQ:

"Damage suffered from other game effects (such

as Seismic Charge, asteroids, or damage received
for being at Range 1 of a ship hit by Assault Missiles)
does not cause a ship to discard Stealth Device."

Emphasis is mine. Note that this would apply to Proximity Mines as well, we just assume you were talking about seismics.

Haven't had the chance to fly Etahn yet, but from the glowing reports I think it will be fun...

Alright, thanks for all the responses!

Next time I definitely will be flying X-wing's with him, thinking Luke with elusiveness and r2-f2 and tarn with R7, just to make the escorts hardier.  Or try to squeeze in 3 rookies. I dunno, something to look into.

Thanks for the replies on the bombs as well!
