salamar_dree 267 Posted July 18, 2014 For those of you interested, Christopher West (of Maps of Mastery fame) has a kickstarter that ends July 28th called Distant Outposts. Here's a link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mapmaker/distant-outposts-a-sci-fi-poster-map-set?ref=nav_search If you like maps, check it out! 2 IDEJ and kaosoe reacted to this
copperbell 602 Posted July 18, 2014 Be careful when I tried that link and then returned to my own page my computer went down. I don't know if someone's messed with that kickstarter page but I thought I'd mention that in case I'm not the only one thats happened to.
awayputurwpn 7,682 Posted July 18, 2014 Love Chris West's stuff! I've got nearly all his sci-fi maps, and now I want these No problems loading the kickstarter page on my end. The maps look excellent! salamar_dree 267 Posted July 23, 2014 Well, the Kickstarter hit it's first stretch goal!
whafrog 9,990 Posted July 23, 2014 I find the rewards descriptions confusing. At a higher level pledge do you get everything from a lower level pledge? Sometimes it specifically says so, sometimes it doesn't. As it goes up, it says you get two and three and four printed posters, but...are these duplicates, or additional levels, and if they're additional, is it random? Basically, I'd like PDFs from this project including every stretch goal met, plus the PDF Omnibus. I don't need any physical media. So basically the $10 option + $45 add-on...and yet the $50 is the Omnibus, but it doesn't specifically say whether you get all the images from this project (it just says "old and new", whatever that means). Brilliant artwork...less than stellar explanations.
kaosoe 7,405 Posted July 23, 2014 Chris has been answering questions on the d20 Radio forums. It's possible he may have answered your question already Whafrog.
whafrog 9,990 Posted July 23, 2014 Thanks, I'll check.
awayputurwpn 7,682 Posted July 23, 2014 The way it's worked in the past, whafrog, is that Chris West allows you to choose from any available 2-sided maps, including (not limited to) any maps made available through the Kickstarter.
whafrog 9,990 Posted July 23, 2014 Ah, I see, thanks. After reading through the comments I ended up doing the $10 pledge with +$45 for the PDF Omnibus...I hope that works out
salamar_dree 267 Posted July 25, 2014 Well, the KS is at the $10K mark, but only has a few days left.
Donovan Morningfire 9,998 Posted July 25, 2014 Wound up pledging to this after all, opting for the two map option (since that's what's currently unlocked in terms of stretch goals for the new maps). If the third or fourth maps get unlocked, I'll just up my pledge reward since I've already pledged more than enough to cover four maps (and I've got the full run of his maps already). 2 kaosoe and awayputurwpn reacted to this
