Etahn A'Baht -- why are some people calling him "Ethan"

Probably because "Etahn" is a pretty dumb looking name, even if it isn't too hard to pronounce, and "A'Baht" both looks and sounds stupid.

Basically, probably just because his name looks moronic.

I'm guilty of misspelling his name quite often ... It's because I like to make jokes about him based on C₂H₆ or C₂H₅OH respectivly, both of which are highly flammable (they might not be as appearent to an english-speaker due spelling and pronounication of names of both chemicals in English)

Ethan on the other hand ... it's simple and has a nice rattle.

The better question is how do you pronounce Etahn. I've heard it "ettin" "eatin'" "E-tan" and then there's A'baht which has been "abbot" "a boat" "a bot"...

My phone hates Etahn. It corrects me so I correct it, then it changes it back.

I pronounce it E-Tan A-Bat. Not sure that's right but no one has told me otherwise.

actually the problem isn't because people don't read but because the letters are exactly the same only 2 are in a different order
