What ships would you like to see in future waves?

Recommended Posts

I am hugely opposed to the TIE Hunter. I'm generally pretty forgiving of TIE variants that are based on the idea of the Empire using common modules. I would even be okay with a TIE Aggressor. But some of those designs are just too far out there, and the TIE Hunter is one of the most heinous of all. Do not want.

Don't think either is extremely likely but the T-16 Skyhopper has always been my favorite EU ship and I'd also like to see the Skipray Blastboat.

I absolutely LOVE the design of the T-16!

But it is NOT EU - it's parked just outside of Luke's garage in ANH (you can see its thrusters and part of the top "wing" just outside the doorway) and he's playing with a model of it. This was always in the movie and not retconned in in special editions like the outrider etc. EU by definition is material that was/is introduced outside of the movies (even if it may have later been added in as per the above example)

Used by FFG in Age of Rebellion. Stands a fair chance of showing up now.

Sarkli+ someone from the AoR would be my bets for named pilots were this to happen, it could also mean a Sarkli crew card availible if the Escort Carrier is released as a Imperial Huge

Screwball time, any objections to I-7 howlrunners and Hornet Interceptors?

The T-16 is not a space vehicle.

Hornets would look too much like bringing your insect collection to the table and calling them spacefighters. The resistance to paint them yellow and call an ace "bumblebee" would be too great.

I-7s could be interesting, as well as A-9 Vigilance fighters.

R-41 starchaser, Nova courier or incom X4 gunship- Rebels

Skipray blastboat, AEG-77 Vigo-Imperials (okay I know the Vigo was a neutral ship...but Xizor Transportation Systems used them and they had contracts with the Empire)

Common misconception.  Most skyhopper models are airspeeders exclusively, but the T-16 model specifically is pressurized and capable of trans-orbital flight, AKA planet to planet. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/T-16_skyhopper

However, I don't think its very likely.  I was just saying it's a personal favorite.

I've got more ships than I know what to do with right now. I'm still getting familiar with wave 3. I only play once a week, and whil I have my wave 4 ships already I find I'm using predominantly earlier ships. Now, the upgrade cards are a whole different story...

I'm not saying I don't like the new ships, just that FFG is way out pacing me. I'll get around to them all eventually. There's just so much to try.

And for what I'd like to see:

Call me crazy but I'd like to see more Canon stuff - this means the Cloud Car from Bespin's Cloud City.  Now I've not done a TON of research on these things, but they flew alongside the falcon and they had guns, guns that were significant enough to make Han take them seriously.  And they were pretty far from any planet's surface - so I don't see why they couldn't operate in space.

The cloud car was designed as an atmospheric craft and relied heavily on air cooling for its engine, so even if it could get to space it would find significant performance issues relating to venting waste heat.   Contrary to what is frequently is shown in fiction, having your ship get really cold is not an significant issue in space.  Rather, venting heat is the issue since the near vacuum of space acts as a near perfect insulator.  This is one of the few sciency bits that Star Wars actually beats Star Trek (by beats I mean is correct about where Star Trek gets it wrong on several occasions) on since the rebels adapt speeders to the cold rather than just using star fighters.

I'm liking the Nssis-class Clawcraft more and more as I read about it. Possibly a Y-wing equiv.

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Nssis-class_Clawcraft?file=Clawcraft_negvv.jpg

I like the Clawcraft, but I think it would be odd to call it a Y-wing equivelent. True, it was supposed to be slightly slower than a tie fighter, but it was also supposed to be much more maneuverable, and with 4 laser cannons I would hope that it has a 3 attack unlike the Y-wing.

The one Problem I have with it is I don't know what role it would fill.  It would be like a slower Tie Interceptor with shields, and that sounds like a Tie Advanced that traded its missiles for one higher attack, which just seems like it would be another nail in the coffin for the Tie Advanced

Unrelated but sorry for posting twice in a row, if someone could tell me how to quote multiple different posts at once like I have seen some others do, I would appreciate it.

Rebels: T-Wing, K-Wing, X-Wing Recon Variant (Support ship capacity). YT-2000(My favorite of the YT variants),

Imperials: TIE Avenger, Assault Gunboat, Skipray Blastboat, Missile Boat, Delta class DX-9 Stormtrooper Transport, Gamma Class Assault Transport,

Neutral Craft that could go either side that I would just like to see as a model: Pursuer class enforcement ship, Supa Fighter, Star Viper, BFF1 Bulk Freighter, Mobquet Medium Transport, Action VI Transport,  Xiytiar Class Transport. Corellian Gunship.

Just to name a few. Seriously though I'd love to see one of the neutral craft come out with Imperial and Rebel cards.

Imperials:

-Assault Gunboat (fills a needed niche and looks menacing without just being another TIE)

-Tie Hunter (Looks cool, one of the few remaining TIE's that looks unique and not kitbashed from more original designs)

-Vigil class Corvette (Imperials need a huge ship and it has the dagger profile)

-Imperial Huge ship from the Rebels series (looks neat, Rebels tie in).

-Tie Advanced upgrades (this ship still needs work).

Rebels:

-R41 Starchaser (Unique looking ship that still looks Star Wars)

-ARC-170 (Only fighter from the Prequels that looks good enough to include, rear firing arc makes it unique among fighters)

Assault Gunboat, TIE Advanced (Avenger). YT-2000. And that's it.

I really don't like all those ugly TIEs I see brought up in so many threads. Ugly and should be confined to the dark corners of the EU. I would prefer FFG design something completely new instead or look to SW ep7 or the new animated Rebels instead.

I know this might be unpopular but:

Revenge of the Sith ships.  We already have the Z-95, which is from that era, but getting Jedi Starfighters I think would be cool.  I think it will happen.  Just a matter of time.
