I think the wording on this new event card is a bit odd

 

"Each opponent discards the top two cards from his or her deck for each character in his or her dead pile"

 

Is this a single effect or is there an effect per dead character (doubt it)?

 

How does this interact with Motley Crewman - do you discard 3 cards per dead person or only 2 plus 1 extra card at the end?

It's a single effect. Each opponent discards 2X cards from the top of their deck, where X is the number of characters in that opponent's dead pile. X can be different for each player (which is why the event is worded as it is instead of using an "X" variable).

 

With Motley Crewman, you add 1 to the entire effect for each opponent, not to the variable or the multiplier. So each opponent discards 2X + 1 cards, not 2(X+1) or (2+1)X cards.

thanks - I suppose discarding 3 or 4 cards per dead person would be excessive, even for Greyjoy
