New StarWars.com page!

Recommended Posts

wookieepedia seems to be transitioning slowly to a canon/legends structure.  what is probably best for those trying to go strictly canon in their adventures is to start with starwars.com and then head over to wookieepedia for fleshing out the details.

Ugh. That huge title bar should not stay hovering over the content when I scroll it up.

Clicked the link and I see what  you mean. The dang title bar takes up half the page.... LAME!

I will not be visiting that site unless that gets changed/fixed. No point in going to a site that is so badly formatted that I just get frustrated at not being able to see the pictures with the click-able text link below them. That is almost as bad as people using grey text on grey backround.

Did anyone else notice the Star Wars Scene Maker?!. I can imagine that being used in several ways during an RPG session.

Player  "I go to the computer station and hack into the surveillance cameras to get a look at the bunker to see what kind of patrols are there". GM launches pre-prepared scene on laptop to show to players.

OR

The players committed a heist in the last session and think they got away with it clean. At the start of the next session the GM says the players discover this on Holonet News and turn the laptop around - surveillance footage of the players running from the bank to their getaway speeder.

I'm guessing the software sounds better then it is and we are going to be very limited in what we can portray, but I'm probably going to try it out.

Reopening this for a question.

Hi people!

Can anyone confirm me actually, please, if Star Wars Databank is 100% canon?

I know that they still don't include all info but, the one until the moment is canon?

Thank you so much!

It's the Star Wars website! Of course it's canon! Sure, Wikipedia sites may not be true-to-fact, but the products very own website better be!

I'm baffled how anyone can give a crap about "canon" George Lucas sure didn't. I'll decide whats "canon" at my game table and you'll do the same for yours. I just can't wrap my mind around how people actually let other people dictate to them what part of their fictional world is true or what part of their fantasy is reality.

It's a choice mate. I support (more o less XD) George and his team creation. I like the idea to respect peoples creation. If I wouldn't like the creation like other movies/series, I just will pass or pick up what I need.

In my games more than 95% of the elements I use are Legends, or just out of SW universe. I even use things from Chrono Trigger, Megaman and other games XD But things that are from canon I respect them because I like them, and the most important, I choose it.

Anyone is free to say that Vader is Donald Duck in disguise or Force comes from a mystic god called Andrés Iniesta or Pau Gasol. It will be their choice and I will respect it :)

One of many, many problems I have with the prequels is how they created and effectively damned a species at the same time. On paper, the Gungans are a terrific species. Amphibious tribal warriors? They're like Wookiees and Mon Calamari mixed; they should be awesome. But because of the way Lucas wrote them and the actors voiced them, instead the very mention of Jar Jar Binks or Gungans evokes a cringe from most fans.

If a player wanted to be a Gungan, I would welcome it with the firm warning: "Don't do or say anything in-character that would make me hit you."
