i have a few questions about base game and expansions

Recommended Posts

is it possible once you finish a game to take that same character and overlord deck and start a new campaign? or do you pretty much need to reset and start a new character?

also as an overlord when you set up a quest after you read the intro to it are you supposed to tell the heroes the victory conditions or are they supposed to figure it out based on the section you already read?

If you want to utilize some of the same heroes you certainly can.  You can also utilize the same OL deck if you wish.  That is all a matter of personal choice.  Usually, my group likes the "excitement" of new heroes, which often leads to the choice of new classes within the archtype.  They like the variety.  But nothing says you have to do it this way.

Everything in the quest guide (all of the text of the encounters, victory conditions, etc.) are generally public knowledge.  There may be one or two situations when it specifically states otherwise, but that is a rarity.  In fact, many groups read the ENTIRE quest guide so that they can decide what future quests they want to run, if they are the winners of the previous quest.

You have to "reset" the heroes and the OL deck - you can't keep all the skills and gear you accumulated in the first campaign to use in the next. If you did, the heroes would be way too powerful throughout the second campaign.

The game is designed to scale up over the course of a single campaign, not further.

The entire quest guide is public knowledge. The heroes can take it and read it whenever they want. "Playing blind" is a common house rule, but it's the heroes' choice whether or not to deny themselves the information they're entitled to.

Yeah! You have to reset that game if you want to work with the same hero. You can't use the same with lots of powers and skills which have been accumulated through your last play. It's kind of unfair to other players. Even when i play a different version of this game on top1apk, i have to reset everything, too.
