Building a base

Recommended Posts

so my players want to independent and set up their own secret base of operations. I guess others has done this.

Has anyone done something cool with it? or has any suggestion?

And how much is a building?

My players are saving up to buy a bar so they can turn it into a drug den. They've already stolen a few hundred Death Sticks to start their empire.

Not sure I really want to know about buying buildings, lol.

I would recommend either the saga edition book Galaxy at war which has a good system for creating bases and battle stations. Or for a more in depth system of base construction I will say use west end games Hideouts and Strongholds. There is a free PDF versions on the d6 holocron. Both are good ways of creating/fleshing out locales for your players to visit or giving them the means by which to create their own headquarters.

Been looking into this exact thing and my issue is pricing. The Galaxy at War and the AoR books don't mention pricing at all. Or have I found something like "trade goods" to make a judge at pricing.

I think buying or building a base of operations should be comparable to buying a starship. You could say 25,000 credits for something that's rather dilapidated, or 100,000 for something new and shiny.

I'm in the process of moving, so all of my WEG and WotC books are in boxes, but I'll try to have a look at them.

Lots of publications out there with examples of hidden bases. But, I don't recall any giving suggested prices. It may vary widely. Buying a bar in a posh part of time equipped with kitchen, droid detector, furniture, alcohol dispensers, etc. may be as much as buying a transport. Buying a run-down warehouse with empty spaces in the crappy corner of town could cost you only a few blaster rifles in credits.

Google prices of realworld properties. Then convert to credits.
