Am I reading this wrong or can you equip a Nu with Harpoons and an Autoblaster? When Someone moves in close, you have a very good deterrent. Here's the list:

Quickdraw with VI, FCS, LWF, SOT 34pts

Countess Ryad with Determination, Ion Cannon, TIE/D 38

Nu with Assault, Autoblaster Cannon, Harpoon, LRS 28

Yes, I have to be careful about disabled weapons. Is the mix of missile and cannon legal on Assault Configuration?

That's an interesting build, big threat at all ranges.  I've seen versions where players have combined two different range weapons before (usually Proton Rockets and Harpoons).  The Gunboat really is lending itself to lots of different variants and load outs.  I'm not sure we've seen a fully optimised version yet.

Since there is so much Assault Gunboat love and knowledge on this thread, please help me with some input on ship builds to playtest missions for my Flight Group Alpha project (an Imperial Coop campaign based on the TIE Fighter PC game):

Say that you have a Rho Squadron Pilot as base and add an additional Modification slot. If you had an unlimited number of squad points to populate your upgrades on your ship, what upgrades would you take?

You CAN, but it's fantastically expensive.  If you want a usable range 1 cannon ion is probably better.  Or even tractor, to set up the rest of your squad if applicable.

Lol I was answering @TreatAsRange2's question up top and forgot to quote it. In regular competition I would drop the chips (although this build is way too expensive to be viable in a non-casual 100/6 match imho).

Too expensive! Gunboats are better in quantity, not in fat.

I agree. But impspy answered for my question about a build for Flight Group Alpha (https://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/161035/flight-group-alpha-imperial-co-operative-campaign) where you fly your own ship (as in HotAC) and could theoretically equip a ship like this, if you made it to PS 4 and had unlimited squadpoints to spend on on it.

Think Rho Squadron pilot but with PS 6, + one more Talent slot and 2 more Modification slots. If You had unlimited amount of squad points to spend on upgrades what would be Your choice of build for your Assault Gunboat?

Would this build be any different if you would be able to choose from both the (Imperial) Pilot Abilities (see page 10 and onwards in the FGA book) and regular Elite Talents for your 2 Talent slots? Barring that you may only take Pilot Abilities from imperial pilots up to PS 6, that is.
