Symbol Stupidity **Elena**, better than Hilde =D

Sorry, rest of UFS concensus, but I hate Hilde. I just seriously don't think she's too tremendous. She is pretty baller with her support, no denying that, but I just don't like her.

A lot of people have compared Elena to Hilde. Both have Fire and Good, both are aggro, and both have a finisher they run best (Spinning Beat and Lightning Horn respectively). However, I like Elena because of her symbol abuse stupidity thanks to Siegfried and Hualin.

This deck went through a bunch of different ideas, and really, isn't even concrete yet. While I could make this deck a straight Fire/Good hybrid abusing her abilities, I wanted to try to abuse her third ability. I also liked the hilarity of using Death abilities on Knight Breaker and Spinning Beat, as well as Hualin's to give my attacks other symbols they didn't have. This is a rought draft, but I think it clearly shows not only Elena's inherent aggro capabilities, but also her unique ones when using multi-symbol attacks.

Lots to explain

Tower of Remembrance - Gives Elena a symbol permanently, so no fear from Oral Dead.

Hualin's - Probably one of the most integral pieces to the deck, gives all attacks a symbol they don't have. Could be Good, could be Death, whatever they need, I can grant it, and then abuse the Hell out of Elena's third enhance. Also helps me build when my Fire cards don't have Good.

Seal of Cessation - Permanent Death, makes room for some Needs no Ally room.

Spinning Beat - What a way to fall off the map, this poor card never saw play. Elena abuses the HELL out of it. All copies are 4 high for 8? Huh...wonder what attack that sounds like -_-. Either way, it's a kill condition in case super duper Dragon's Flame doesn't. Ichi + Midnight Launcher + Dragon's Flame + Spinning Beat would be uber lawlz.

Dragon's Flame -  I realize this only shares one smbol with Knight Breaker, but why in the Hell is Knight Breaker so prefered over this one. Breaker only gets damage for the attack preceding,  whereas Flame gets damage for ALL attacks preceding! Anyways, start with either Ichi or Dragon's Breath, use Launcher, then do the Chris Redfield, and, "TURN THAT PIECE OF S--T TO ASHES!"

Dragon's Breath - THE Aggro attack. All attacks lose speed to gain damage? Sign me up. Oh, and it's totally got Fire and Good =D.

Needs no Ally - Must be drawn quickly, which is why I have 4 (although as this is still an incomplete draft, it'll likely go down). Once I can start giving Elena a bunch of symbols, symbol strains won't be bothersome. Get the third symbol, abuse Elena's third E.

Communing with the Ancients - Float Like a Butterfly.

Quest for Vengeance - Poor, free speed pump =/. All of my attacks have printed speeds of 3, meaning if anything deals damage, the next attack gets +2 speed.

Savage Fighter - Win

Wind Dance - Because combos with Quest for Vengeance are stupid.

White Magic/Light Hearted - Momentum

Now, to the deck itself.  I'm not a fan of symbol splashing (especially considering Good has to do very little of it these days), but you seem to pull it off pretty well.  One nitpick, though; I'd pick either Good or Fire to run off, so you don't need Hualin's to pull off that Ichi + Midnight + Dragon's Flame + Spinning Beat madness.

I also think you can squeeze in some Memories of a Nightmare for stopping more than just Evil foundations (rumor has it, Death and Void also have annoying stuff).

My main problem is direction. While I like the versatility and options, I'm starting to think that maybe her Third E is all of worthless, because in the end, it's only use is to give an attack Multiple 3.

Eh, thanks anyways. I'm not sure where I could put Memories though because it's Good-only.

Any suggestions?

You're already really Asset heavy but Path of the Master would be cool.  It makes it easier to get your Spinning Beat Death E off and add potentially a b**tload of damage.  That's a standard b**load, not a metric b**tload (I love you KoL).

I'm mostly having troubles with the goal of this deck. As I said, I'm having second thoughts in that I think I should just focus on her aggro potential, and less on her "ZOMG I CAN HAS CRAZINESS?" While it is cool for novelty, I think the way to achieve victory is a tad much, and statistically, as soon as a Spinning Beat hits the table, it's game; no point in using the Death E.

To answer your question on Dragon's Flame-The requirement is slightly more heavy (Mid Weapon vs. Mid attack), and the symbol spread is different.  In fire, you're probably better off with Dragon's Flame, though, so agree with you there.

No chance to fit in Siren's Call?  6/2 4high 8 damage that has Fire, Good, and Order.  If multipled out with her two enhances they are 5high 10 damage attacks.

Siren's Call is pretty cool, just raise its damage then reduce =D.

But nah, no real place in here. Thanks for the head-up on Dragon's Flame, but hot **** (no pun intended), I think it'll see a LOT of play.

Awesome deck.  Probably the best Elena i've seen so far.  I'm just curious how you're getting multiple 3 without Kanzukiryu Kakutojutsu?  Can you make multiple copies off a multiple? O_o

Well, let me just ask you guys? Ought I just focus more on one symbol, and thus be able to abuse her Third E without such chaos and confusion?

I still like your deck a lot.  I tried to go the whole third ability route and make multiple copies of thunderbolt.  Maybe the best way to run Elena is still just using the first and second abilities?

I agree. I wanted to abuse her novelty, but with all the great finishers she has access to (Knight Breaker, Dragon's Flame, Spinning Beat), her third ability isn't really necessary anymore (although it'd be lawlz giving her the Combo keyword since, as far as I know, it'd just be a blank Combo).

I'm not sure which symbol I'd run her off of. I know that I'd still be using Hualin to abuse those Es though. Hualin is fun.

I've got a Elena deck I'm fiddling around with too...I'm mostly using Elena's third ability to make multiples of Reversals. Expensive to get out, but nothing can quite say 'Disrupt a turn' like a 5L7 Heel Snipe and its multiple friend. Except maybe a 4M11 Beast Hurricane and its 4M7 copy. :)

Might want to consider Tower of Rememberance - Spiral of Time, either as a replacement for a couple of Needs no Ally or as a supplement.  Not quite as versatile, but I'm seeing more Terrain come into play, and it'll help wipe those out as well as help with matching symbols.

That's certainly a funner way to win than Feline lol.

That is cool, but I do not own any Heel Snipe =/

I would probably reverse with my favorite reversal: Shadow Blade =D. It's a bit of a stretch, but with Multiple, my Shadows are 5High 7s, and don't forget the Stun: 2 and destruction!
