New Player with Questions about Exhaustion

If you are unopposed at a story and have the Arcane Icon, can you still reset/ready your card as if you had won the Arcane struggle?

When you have a Support card attached to a character with an Exhaust to use component, does this Exhaust the character or just the Support card (see Sedanette for specific reference )

Sedanette doesn't attach to a character. Even if it would attach (some card do this) the exhaust state of characters and their attachments is independant. The card will say if you need to attach the character or the attachment.
