Upcoming Changes to the Fantasy Flight Games Forums   01/20/2017

Hello Fantasy Flight Games forum community!   This week, we will be making some important changes to your Fantasy Flight Games community account and the way that you log into the Fantasy Flight Games community forums and web store.   We have been working hard to integrate with the rest of the Asmodee group, and we are happy to announce a unified way to access all the websites and apps made by Fantasy Flight Games, Days of Wonder, and Asmodee!   For most users, nothing will change: you will still log into the Fantasy Flight Games forums using your current login name and password. Only the login user interface will be new.   For a few users, your credentials might be slightly changed. For example, this could happen to users who have both a Fantasy Flight Games and Days of Wonder account, or in the case of conflicting login names across platforms. When these situations occur, special e-mails will be sent to those users with an easy explanation about those changes and what steps to take next. For any of you receiving those e-mails, please make sure to follow the instructions carefully.   Remember, official communications from Fantasy Flight Games or Asmodee.Net will never ask for your password.   What are the benefits for you as a player? Using a unified account to access all of our web services and apps makes your life simpler. Over time, you will see new features emerging, such as keeping all of your friends under a single account, finding friends easily in apps with online play, or developing your personal profile by adding to your board games collection. These are just some of the features that you will see during the next year, once this important technical step is complete.   Important note: The migration of the forums to our new system will take place on Tuesday, January 24th. The forums will be offline for about two hours during that time. Once the migration is complete, older forum posts may look strange for up to 24 hours as we rebuild them in our new system.   We can’t wait to connect our board game communities and build bridges between universes, game systems, players, events, groups, game clubs, and more! This is only the first step in bringing people and games closer together. For more information, read our FAQ at https://asmodee.helpshift.com/a/asmodee-net/.   Best regards,   The Fantasy Flight Games Team

Looking for a X-wing on Youtube.

This is what I am looking for-
I love watching good battle reports but I have a few criteria -
1- the people playing should be at least as good as me. Nothing kills me more than watching people play and the players obviously don't know the rules or do stupid things like forget how focus works. I wouldn't call myself a great player, but I do know how to play, how the rules work and what the FAQs say.
2- I need to be able to see what is going on. What is the point of watching a video of cool figures if the quality is poor.
3- This is the least important, but I would prefer if their was some good editing, fast forwarding. Not too much. I don't really care for the battle reports where you just get a recap after each turn. I want to see the dice rolls and all, I would prefer if the movement phase went buy a little faster.

The best videos I have seen are the Team Covenant. Miniature Wargaming has a few good ones too. I kind of wish there were some Team Covenant torment coverage with Miniature Wargaming style editing.

I've been working to improve my Battle Reports.   The first few I did were all just summaries of each turn.  I'm now doing more of the actual game, (Movement, Actions, etc) and skipping past the time where we lolleygag and do our maneuver dials.

My biggest problem now is finding a place at the store I play at, to place my camera.  I end up having to hold it and it's a pain.

Thanks for this thread, it's good for people like me to know exactly what viewers want to see.

I know it's prohibitively expensive to consider, but I can't help but wonder how well it would work shooting using Google Glass?   Maybe I could test by gaffe taping a GoPro to my forehead.  I'm also one of your subscribers.  Loved your vids so far.  You, and a couple of others have made me seriously think about shooting X-Wing and Dreadball batreps for a channel of my own.

Watch me lose to Paul Heaver in the Vassal final. He won 2 major tournaments in one day.

Oh snap, I haven't seen this one yet!

I got it close. I almost pulled it off but the dice did not favor my last gambit.

Google Glass would free up your hands, but still wouldn't be steady - and likely wouldn't capture the entire field of view like the best Batreps often do.

My setup in my garage is perfect - I have a high mounted shelf that works well for the camera, but I have nobody to play at home - so unless any of you feel like driving to Orlando for a game of X-Wing then I'm out of luck.

I'm thinking of trying a batrep vs the AI - see how that pans out.

Started to rewatch it, and realized I have actually seen this one.  Either way, you did play one hell of a game.

Infocomm next year is in Orlando.  I'll probably be there.  If I skip the Crestron party (last year I couldn't, Penn and Teller were the main act)  I'd be up for a game or 2.  I'm lucky, my wife plays too, so I always have someone to play.

Here is an example of my new format - which I can only do with the right setup.  This is vs the AI - since I have nobody else to play in my garage at the moment.
