Question about the licence

7 posts in this topic

Looking at the supported Warhammer Fantasy games I see only one - Warhammer:Discwars. W40k has a new title announced - Warhammer:Conquest. What do You think will FFG coninue the licence for both universum? This year or next, can't now remaber correctly, the licence for FFG ends, so will they keep both or just go with one - W40k? How do You all think?

I would like to see new titles set in Warhammer Fantasy from FFG, becouse I love the setting. But I do not see any support or new announces from the universe made by FFG, besides Discwars.

They could create so much like:

new card game with the feeling of classic Warhammer Quest & Mordheim

Warhammer Quest is a classic, to many fans of Warhammer Fantasy a game that should be remaked not only because of the memories with it but also to get new people into Warhammer. Also such title like Mordheim should get more audience. So why not connect both those and make a completely new game with the feeling of both. FFG has a long list of titles that used interesting mechanics especially when it comes at LCGs. Maybe You could do a cooperative card game with a little play against other players. It all could work very easy for example before every game You would draw a quest/goal card that should be accomplished to end the game. The game plays against players from a deck of event/enemies cards. Players control a group of adventurers that explore locations in search of equipment and to find the goal of the quest. The most important thing is that the game is playing against groups of adventurers but also every group fights for their own. The winner of the game is only one player who first accomplishes the goal or the game could beat all of them. This should be an LCG because it would not require plastic figures and it would be a very easy to add new cards with monthy Quest packs and deluxe expansions. Of course there should fractions in the game and I think that mixing those fractions to make the best playable deck could be handled like Warhammer 40 k Conquest with a wheel of choice.(I really like the idea of it). The most important thing about this idea is the fact that this game could be played from 1 to 4 players, so You could always try out your deck in a solo game and later against other players in the race to goal.

Of course such a game does not need to be a LCG but could be as good a board game (maybe similar to Runebound) or a stand alone card game.

Expand WFRP - in 3e or new edition

there's so much terain not covered by any edition.

an a lot more. So do You think they will still make games set in Warhammer Fantasy or drop it?

cheers

After transforming into a Chaos Spawn, the Beren character is no longer suitable for a player to run, and a replacement character should be considered. From this point on the character becomes an NPC and the GM decides what becomes of him.

The Chaos Spawn Beren may disappear, heading towards the Chaos wastes, he might run wild in an orgy of bloodshed, or may follow the characters for a while at a distance, bonded to them by foggy memories of companionship.

Neee, I would rather stay here, listen to what You are talking about and from time to time throw my 5 cents. Of course I could always, from time to time, start a new topic about those things that You find boring but I want them to be seen by FFG ;p. What's more importent maybe someday my wishes will come true and FFG will use one of those ideas to create a better game then WFRP 3e is or better saying was.

I told this a long time ago - as much as I love Warhammer Fantasy setting I'm done with WFRP 3e. But still I think that FFG could use there experience with WFRP 3e to create a good game that would be a board game with RPG and card game elements. I do not want to promote here anything but I see the space for such titles on the market. Titles that are board games with Exp, character evolution that use a cards & dice mechanics but still give players a lot options to customise there game the way they like it. What's more valuable such title could be very good cooperative games - without GM and the game playing against players.

That's just a thought but still worth remebering and considering.

I see that I'm not welcome here so I just will go away from this WFRP forum which is already almost dead.

cheers

Beren

PS. No had feeling ;)

If you want a boardgame, go to the boardgame threads. This is supposed to be a RPG forum
