Cremate 539 Posted March 2, 2014 Probably Hacan, Yin, Mentak Saar, and possibly Jol-Nar.
zeromage 32 Posted March 2, 2014 Why do you think Jol-Nar?
Bowoodstock 16 Posted March 2, 2014 At low resource levels, having twice as much tech as everyone else is a massive advantage. If you can't have more stuff than everyone else, you might as well have better stuff than everyone else. 1 Steve-O reacted to this

Shadow 0 Posted March 2, 2014 (edited) Races that have large homeworlds does well in low resource galaxies like L1Z1x and Barony These races can buy tech and ships. Spend your homeworld for ships. Refresh your homeworld doing the secondary of assembly. Spend your homeworld again for a tech. Races with high influence homeworlds like Yssaril will do badly in low resource galaxies unless they draw a very good resource planet. These races cannot justify spending a strategy counter to only refresh a 2 resource homeworld. The high influence homeworld races depend alot on good trade contract exchanges to make up their resource shortfalls. Because of low resources, players can only build fighter fleets. Races with strong racial abilites like Sol and Naalu can also do really well. Edited March 2, 2014 by Shadow
Cremate 539 Posted March 3, 2014 Why do you think Jol-Nar? Because a number of Technologies increase your resource management and because Jol-Nar can get Technologies cheaper, or for free, than other players. They might not pick up as many Technologies as they would be able to in a resource-heavier game, but they would still be able to get enough to make it an edge. Wick 1 Posted March 4, 2014 You can mitigate the effects of a resource poor galaxy by using colony/refinery facilities. How about Embers of Muuat? Start with a warsun and a good resource planet, even if their opponents get warsun tech they may find it difficult to actually finance the building of their own warsuns or produce a regular fleet that can stand up to the warsun and support fleet.
