Sithborg 11,513 Posted March 1, 2014 You do understand, if it is Star Wars, LFL owns it right? If they want to use a certain character, LFL doesn't have to consult anyone.
Arthur Volts 83 Posted March 1, 2014 I don't see FFG giving it up for Disney. Wizkids yes, I can understand Wizkids bending over for them.
herozeromes 7 Posted March 1, 2014 I'm definitely excited for new ships. New stuff is always exciting even though I may not use a ton of the ships initially. I will be experimenting with new builds like I always do. I have played probably 20 games so far and have not used the same list twice. The depth is outstanding. Now, if I was to really get excited I'd love to see some shadows of the empire love along with some of the main bounty hunter ships (I.e. IG-2000, Punishing One, Hound's Tooth). I've been addicted since I started playing. If they did IG-2000, Punishing One, Hound's Tooth, and Mist Hunter I'd preorder them with much excitement. This is probably due to the fact that I LOVED my Decipher Star Wars CCG Bounty Hunter themed deck.
KovuTalli 178 Posted March 1, 2014 Really looking forward to the E-wing as it looks like it'll give rebels some fantastic options however it will probably make A-wings obsolete Also really looking forward to Tie Phantoms, one of my favourite EU Ship outside of Defenders/advanced and Assault gunboats <-- Empire NEEDS these <
Dyslexic Dragon 68 Posted March 1, 2014 The thing I do not like is that the E-Wing is a New Republic fighter which came in 4 years after the destruction of the second Death Star. But I can understand FFG bringing it in for game balancing.
Effenhoog 990 Posted March 1, 2014 (edited) Considering the E-wing was in service a mere 9 years after the battle of Yavin I don't feel like it's too far outside the scope of the game Edited March 1, 2014 by Effenhoog
Lappenlocker 208 Posted March 1, 2014 Considering the E-wing was in service a mere 9 years after the battle of Yavin I don't feel like it's too far outside the scope of the game The scope of the game? I'm not sure what you feel is the scope of the game. It's titled "Star Wars X-Wing Miniatures Game". I suppose a literal interpretation would be we could only fly X-Wings, but I prefer to focus on the "Star Wars" part. Which doesn't have a narrow scope, IMHO. Effenhoog 990 Posted March 1, 2014 (edited) Obviously they have not explicitly defined "the scope of the game" but right now we at least have ships/pilots starting from the Battle of Yavin up through the battle of Endor and beyond to an undetermined end point, but generally staying within a period where most of those ships/pilots could have still been in service, assuming the pilots were not killed in action as some/most of them were. Basically, just because a ship is from the beginning of the new republic era does not mean it is too far in the future to make sense in the context of a star wars miniatures game roughly based around the time of the original trilogy.
