Being new to the game I am completely overwhelmed with the "unknown" of what I can do. I've been reading the core rulebook when I can but coming from D&D it's a big learning curve for sure.

I stpped to read about range and combat in general, and then never came back to post. Then all of a sudden a few days went by.

Gren won't be a big contributor to combat anyway. He has the light blaster pistol, knows how to use it but prefers not to. If he doesn't have to.

He is more of a support type of guy.

That being said, I am going to set myself some sort of alarm to remind myself to check here on a more consistent basis. I apologize for being awol as I do want to be a part of this game.

All good. Coming into a new system can be quite overwhelming at times, regardless of which system it is. Feel free to ask here or in the Discord and we'll try to help you out as much as possible! Though, in the end, it's best to consult the GM themselves.

  2. You know, trying to visualize this whole encounter has led me to two different interpretations:

    • One in which the Engaged range band is fluid, and all of the characters are moving around whilst keeping a roughly equal distance from each other, with all of the characters scrambling around the ship in a cinematic fight with dynamic choreography..
    • The other, well.. the range bands are static and we're just standing around the crab, ganging up on it as it tries to flee to short range.

    Fun times.

  3. Wesk and Argo were peacefully sitting outside of the med-bay, waiting for their turn to get patched up by the doctor and their new companion, Gren the Bothan. Argo was curled up by the Kyuzo's side, and although its position gave off the impression of relaxing, its upright ear gestured otherwise. Even if the people around them had helped in the escape from Watercrest Outpost, the Anooba didn't exactly feel comfortable around them. Not yet.

On the polar opposite side of the spectrum was Wesk. He sat cross-legged, gently scratching Argo's back as they waited to arrive at their new destination. After the chaotic lift-off, Wesk attempted to talk his companion into being more trusting towards the rest of the crew, whilst also dealing with the conflicting emotions from the past battle. On one hand, he had only attacked to keep them from harming Argo; on the other, they their weapons to stun, meaning they wouldn't have been lethally wounded. He continued pondering on it for a good second until...

A chilling sensation ran down Wesk's spine and Argo's hackles sprouted up like tensed needles, alerting them to the alien presence onboard. Quickly, it leapt from its curled position towards the entrance of the med-bay, acting with a much bigger sense of urgency than Charon or Bon'Uss were displaying. Alerted by Argo's sudden movements, Wesk quickly picked himself up from the ground and followed after Argo, only to find Gren being assaulted by a giant creature, similar to a crab and a spider.

Argo's fight-or-flight reflexes kicked in and it quickly lunged at the creature, using its powerful mandibles to bite it and keep it in place momentarily. Thanks to Argo's help and an inexplicable abrupt surge of strength, Wesk lifted his foot into the air and unleashed a devastating axe kick onto the alien's shell.

    CRACK!!!

The sheer blunt trauma created a large fissure on one of its sides, weakening the creature and leaving it to limp through the ship.

Strain can reset, but the doctor has been preoccupied with trying to save the patient, so Wounds remain.

If you can Crit with 2 Advantage, go ahead and roll for it.

3 Ranks of Iron Body say yes to that crit!

Iron Body is a blessing (Critting): 1d100 57

Agonizing Wound (57) : The target increases the difficulty of all Brawn and Agility checks by one until the end of the encounter.

  5. Wesk and Argo are gonna smack it. Like real hard. Like, blam, you got smacked.

Wesk takes 2 strain to double maneuver: Engage and Command Argo; Argo will Engage and Assist Wesk trying to get Mr. Krabs off Gren, then Wesk will smack it.

Are you feeling it now Mr. Krabs?: 3eP+2eB+2eF+1eC+1eD+1eS 2 successes, 2 advantage, 2 Light Side, 1 Dark Side
    p-s-a.pngp-s-a.pngp-a.pngb-s.pngb-s-a.pngf-ls-ls.pngf-ds.pngc-th.pngd-f-f.pngs-th.png

That's gonna be 7 (Non-Lethal) Damage and 2 Advantage to Crit, if possible.

EDIT: Also, forgot to ask: Did we heal anything since the last fight or are we still tracking last encounter's Strain and Wounds?

  6. @Edgehawk Hey! About the confused emoji reaction, it wasn't anything serious, just used it because it's the closest to shock and and surprise. Just wanted to express shock at the surprise alien sensation that hit everyone, sorry about the confusion.

Also, you posted in the iC thread, not sure if you meant to do that or posted in the wrong thread.

  7. Firstly, I'd like to thank you for this campaign! It's been very fun so far, even with the couple hiccups we've had trying to run this as a companion game.

Personally, I would prefer if the party stuck as a freelance group traveling the galaxy and opposing the Empire, and since we have a couple of Force sensitives, tackle a few lost talismans or ruins along the way. With that said, I don't completely oppose the idea of being part of the grander Rebellion, as long as we can keep certain freedom to choose our path forward. Exploring story hooks from PC would also be a great touch in my opinion.

Either route, I trust that you will be able to pull it off and tell a great story.

  8. Wesk nodded attentively at the Bothan, still holding back his hound to keep it from wounding the only person that seemed qualified to deal with injuries. The beast slowly calmed down, but still let out a low growl at Gren. The way Argo looked up at Wesk, it almost seemed as if it was trying to gesture not to trust in them. Still, Wesk put his trust in them. They had arrived with Scarpa Flek, after all.

Upon being pointed towards the sled, the Kyuzo quickly stood up and nodded for Argo to accompany him. He approached the pile of rubble and swiftly pushed it aside, then picked the grav-sled up and carefully walked back towards the medic. He gently set it down and with utmost caution helped place Hugo on top for safe transportation into their escape shuttle. Once he made sure Gren could take care of the rest, he turned around and walked backwards, keeping an eye out on the possible exits that the Task Force could use to catch up to them.

  9. After downing the last two troopers that had threatened his companion, Wesk quickly stood up and looked around to the battle on the landing pad. He sought to assist his teammates, but it was too late. Just as he turned, he saw the Human Commando, shot down by a sniper atop the shuttle. He once more brought the scope of his weapon up to his eye, but just as he was about to pull the trigger, another shot from the massive Ion Cannon blinded him with the bright burst of sparks. Without anymore obstacles, the Kyuzo rushed towards the doctor and the downed Commando, taking a knee by their side to check in on his fallen comrade. He was no medic, however. He couldn't exactly do much, so he only knelt down and watched.

"Can you fix him?"   He asked the Bothan in his thick Kyuzo accent.

Argo quickly arrived by Wesk's side and nudged him to grab his attention, to which the Kyuzo patted it on the head. The Anooba let out a low growl before outright barking at the Bothan, threatening to lash out just as it had with the two other troopers. Wesk immediately snapped towards his companion and held it back. He whispered inaudibly in his native tongue before turning back towards the Doctor.

"I can help if needed. To carry him to the shuttle."   He tipped his hat to Gren, showing that he was more open to new comrades than his hound was.

@nline39 Okay. So unfortunately, Gren is unable to stabilize Hugo for transport, in the field, so moving him will involve some risk. The 4 Advantages can provide 2 Boosts to a subsequent check on the ship, where there is a small medbay, but moving him will also incur an Upgraded Difficulty to that check...

Or just flip a Destiny Point to have/find a gravsled to move him safely aboard, avoiding the Upgrade.

If it helps us save that Destiny Point, I'll gladly give it a shot at carrying Hugo, just tell me the difficulty. Maybe even Argo helps with equipment that was dropped when he got downed.

I posted days ago. Do I need to take a specific action?

Sorry. I was waiting on responses.

Your posts just now showed up. I'm assuming your account is new? It happened to me as well, where my posts had to go through forum mods before they were actually "delivered". Not sure what enables you to post normally afterwards, though. Probably reputation in the forums.

By the way, glad to have you on board!

  12. Wesk looked around as the Pathfinder shuttle arrived at the scene, only to hear another thundering round of cannon fire go off around him. The battle was taking a bigger toll on his ears than he would've expected. Just as he returned his attention to Argo, the hound was shot by the two troopers it had been fighting off. The Anooba lost balance and tumbled off the ramp, though to its fortune, the multiple layers of the padded armor had made the shot not as lethal was it would've been otherwise.

As a reflex, Wesk propped up his bowcaster and took another shot. He had been aiming low to avoid lethal damage, but this time, his shot struck straight through one of the trooper's chest, leaving a smoking hole on their armor. Quickly, he moved his aim and was about to pull the trigger, but his trusty companion beat him to the race. Argo pounded on the last standing trooper on the ramp and made sure they wouldn't stand up.
