Noob here, so please bear with me. On the neighborhood tiles there are icons that indicate what you can expect on the encounter cards. My question is: can those items just be looked at/purchased aside from waiting for a chance through the encounter card? Also, when it says on the encounter card to receive an item, do I have to pay the price shown on the card, or is it free as a part of the encounter?

Noob question here. If I activate Duke for his +2 to fight ability, will it stay if I attack with some other weapon? I.E. fire axe?

When a card has , say terror, for a keyword, is it discarded after it's resolved> What if I fail the test? does the card stay in my threat area?

Very new to the game and I have lots of questions, but this one is at the top of the list: If my investigator has, for example, both a machete and a .45 automatic in an asset slot and I make an attack, do I total up all of the attack and damage bonuses for that action?
