Birdman137 reacted to Thaeggan in Cloud Saves?
If you are using a laptop, you are using Steam, correct? Steam has cloud saves for the game if you have it enabled. However, to guarantee you have the files in hand you can navigate to the game's save location on your laptop and copy the JiME_Data folder to an external drive. Then, replace the folder when you are ready.

Hopefully shutting down the forums leads to more resources available to develop content for our favorite game. 😄

Birdman137 reacted to doubletapdaddy in Painted JIME
Haven't panted in some time, but I was able to knock out Ursa and the large spider (name?) after dinner.
All the while being judged by Gandalf.

Not that I'm aware of. Accounts aren't linked across devices.

Birdman137 reacted to Thaeggan in Question regarding “Stunned” Damage Card
It pertains to damage and/or fear the player has already suffered.
The card does not instruct the player to draw, suffer, or receive damage or fear if there are no cards to flip. It solely says to flip what the player has, nothing more.

No joke. Gandalf judging me while I try to get him painted...

Birdman137 reacted to TwiceBorn in Shadowed Paths Availability
Seems to be sold out across much of North America as well.
Given the line is relatively new and how well this expansion in particular has sold, there is no doubt that it will be reprinted. As to "when," only FFG knows... or not, given the way the worsening pandemic and global shipping backlogs must be affecting production and distribution schedules.

Birdman137 reacted to Aaron0013 in JiME Painted! (Thanks Sorastro)
I want to start this post by saying thank you, thank you, thank you to all those who post their painted minis to this forum. Your ideas have been a HUGE help to me. My second big thanks goes out to Sorastro, who inspired my wife and I to get into this hobby in the first place with his painting tutorials for Journeys in Middle Earth. After watching his videos, my wife and I practiced on some cheap RISK pieces, and then jumped into this set as our first detailed mini painting project! I’ll tell you, it has been a blast for both of us. One thing that I think makes this project unique is that we used only 9 paint colors and 3 washes....because we're too cheap to buy anything else 😆
If there’s anyone reading this who has not painted their set, maybe because you don’t think you would do a good job, let me tell you....If I can do it, you can too! I’m no artist by any means, but I think we all have a God-given desire to see ordinary things become beautiful. I wanted to post these pictures to give you some ideas and inspiration for your own painting. I hope they accomplish that purpose.
Happy painting!

I finally finished painting all of the base game minis!

Birdman137 got a reaction from wintermoonwolf in Sorastro's Painting
I promise I won't be posting every group I finish, but I had to share the first one. They probably took me about 5 hours to finish. I'm hoping I get a little more efficient as I go. I realized as I was clear coating them that I forgot to apply the wash... Oh well, I still think they turned out pretty well.

Birdman137 reacted to doubletapdaddy in Atomic Mass Games
Personally, I'm satisfied with the content that's available now in addition to the replay value. Even if I only got a couple of years out of it, I'd be happy. I mean, things can't last forever. Buy it now and enjoy it while it lasts. Don't fear the future of it.

Birdman137 reacted to Aaron0013 in Yet another painting topic
I can tell you spent a good amount of time on these....especially the hero’s. Well done. I follow Sorastro, and enjoy learning from him, but it’s good to see these models from another perspective (while still paying attention to detail). Beautiful work. Thanks for sharing 😊

Birdman137 reacted to Thaeggan in Question from the FAQ
So it would seem. Never knew there was a rule on that

Birdman137 reacted to Alonewolf87 in Question from the FAQ
Well since passing a Last Stand only discards facedown Fear/Damage even if the hero passes the test you will then immediately need to make another one (at +1 difficulty) since you are still over your Fear/Damage limit and so forth until you fail. The rule basically tells you to avoid doing a lot of unnecessary tests since the end result is unavoidable.

Birdman137 reacted to Shanturin in Bilbo: Self-Sufficient
I love the Burglar role, and self-sufficient is a pretty good starting card. I tend to play in 2-3 character parties, so keeping distance is rarely a problem on most maps, except maybe battle maps (though walls help with this issue ).
Is this the strongest effect in the game? Definitely not. But it helps when things go rough - your inspiration engine didn't go off and you're starved for it, for example. Also, say you have it on Bilbo and test Wit:2. You revealed 1 success, 2 fates and one blank. You can spend the inspiration, sure, but why? This, in my experience comes out more often than not, and helps you save resources for more important tests.
Also, try it on Gandalf. Lots and lots of fate cards with this one

Birdman137 thanks for making me notice this! I'll have to play the campaign again haha
-
Birdman137 reacted to farapeppe in Three rules question
Yes, that's exactly the point. Is it ar attack or not? In the rulebook, "Attack" says that you choose a weapon, a skill (etc..). Here, it says (when introduced) that you can "attack as an action" using STRENGHT (no matter who you are and what weapons you use) and deal ONE DAMAGE PER SUCCESS. I think it is not considered an attack

Birdman137 reacted to BaseOne in Cannot start saved game
Just updated the IOS app and was able to load my latest save that previously asked to enable an empty list(like others I already had everything enabled).
The update didn’t show up on my pending list but when I searched for the Journeys app it was there.

Birdman137 reacted to Henilin in The Dwellers in Darkness minis are... kinda bad?
Did the unpacking and the mini's are just fine. (Very exiting)
I have compared with the other mini's and the detail is as good as before and there is no color difference.
I compared the Ollie with the pictures above and it has not the gaps under his left arm.
At the under side is : TM SZC Lic FFG
