I've run a similar list before where I use a 2nd TRC90 (over the Assault Frigate) and use the extra points to beef up the squads and add a 2nd flotilla. I use Strategic Adviser to ensure I can usually out activate my opponent (6 activations with the Adviser). My take on this list ends up with a bit less firepower than your list but I like being able to out maneuver my opponent and activate Defiance last if I want.
If you want to beef up your squads, you could trim most of the upgrades off the Assault Frigate. Personally, I like to run TRCs and possibly ECM if I have the points to spare. I feel like turning a blank into a double is going to be about the amount of damage improvement you're going to get from your set up. Also, if squads are a worry, you could add slicer tools to the flotilla to help buy you a bit of extra time until you can bring down the carriers.
Honestly, I don't know which version would be better though.
