  1. Hello! At the moment the list looks like this: "Dutch" Vander (40) Ion Cannon Turret (5) R3 Astromech (3) Ship total: 48 Half Points: 24 Threshold: 4 Esege Tuketu (45) Adv. Proton Torpedoes (6) Cluster Missiles (5) Perceptive Copilot (8) Ship total: 64 Half Points: 32 Threshold: 5 Garven Dreis (X-Wing) (47) R4 Astromech (2) Servomotor S-Foils (0) Ship total: 49 Half Points: 25 Threshold: 3 Total: 161 View in Yet Another Squad Builder 2.0: https://raithos.github.io/?f=Rebel%20Alliance&d=v8ZsZ200Z27XW138WW4WWWY18X134W98WWW54WWWY6XWW5WW142&sn=Friendly%20Friends&obs= I originally flew it as a three ship list with lots of heavy ordnance just after 2.0 was released. However, when revisiting it recently I realized that I could fit another ship in it if I just stripped away som ordnance. The basic mechanics of this list is: Essege does a double focus, Garven does a target lock, dutch does a target lock and gives an extra to Esege. Essege uses focus from garven and pass it on to dutch. Dutch and R3 is a given combo, and the Ion cannon tower is there to boost his damage output and compensate for sluggish dial I generally hate the K-wing dial, by stapling the tower to right-left and having both adv. proton and cluster missiles the 270° arc makes up for it Garven gets an R4 to better handle stress. For a 39 point forth ship I have a few thoughts: Jake farrell at 36 points is a good way of continiouing the doubble mod theme. However 2 attack dies are lots of meh. Arwel with intimidation is a really fun build, and by throwing in a Predator he can almost makes his own double mod when in bulls-eye. On the negative side, his low initiative makes it somewhat hard to set up those perfect bumps. But on the positive side, he have a tendency to draw a lot of enemy fire since people hate the whole initiative lowering shenanigans. Another idea I have been toying with is Hera in attack shuttle at exactly 39 points. Three attack dies and I5 is not bad, and her maneuverability looks great on paper. However, I have never flown with her and have no idea on how good she is in practice. Would love to hear more ideas from you people!
  2. Thanks for expanding on the idea and putting in all this work Regarding attack shuttle, I don't think Sabine is the best wing leader due to her not being able to do a barrel roll before moving (since she would collide with her wing mates), and I would rather have Hera whit her last-minute dial change as leader. On a different note, one modification that I think would be really nasty to put on the wing leader is stealth device. Since veteran wing leader allows you to distribute up two hits, the opponent need to score three hits before the stealth device is canceled, which makes it almost pointless to fire on the wing leader before all the wing mates are gone. This would of course be extra nasty on ships with agility 3. Imagine a 6 ship tie swarm with a stealth device wielding howlrunner as wing leader.
  3. Say you have a squad of X-wings and the wing leader have an R4 astromech (Decrease the difficulty of your speed 1-2 basic maneuvers) while the wingmates have no or a different astromech. If the wing leader would reveal a speed 2 hard turn (white on dial but turned blue for wingleader due to R4), would this count as a white or blue maneuver? The rules state: Before it moves, a wingmate is treated as revealing the same dial as the wing leader’s dial. After it is placed in formation, a wingmate is treated as having fully executed the maneuver on the wing leader’s dial. This includes the speed, color, and bearing of the wing leader’s maneuver. My interpretation is that this means that the wing leaders maneuvers would be blue as well, but I am not 100% certain of that interpretation.
  4. Lets discuss fun and powerful rebel wings and wing leaders: A-wings The obvious Wing leader is Jake Farrell, with his OK initiative and his reposition -> focus -> red reposition action economy. But what kind of missiles to you put on him and his wing-mates? Proton rockets for everyone is one alternative for some multiple five dice mayhem and a great danger for any huge ship that might come in their way. Cluster missiles is another fun alternative that would allow a squad of A-wings to roll an awful lot of dices. Only problem is that Jake will not be able to take a target lock if he does his double re-positioning. This could be fixed by keeping "Dutch"Vander in proximity, but how the **** would an Y-wing keep up with a squad of A-wings? another option is to give Jake a focus based ordnance instead. A third alternative is to use the "rebel salad" approach to ordnance and give each wing-mate a different ordnance. Proton rockets on Jake, for some focus based heavy hitting, cluster missiles on a wing mate for dual shots, Ion missiles to f**k up enemy formations, homing missile to take out any stealth device carrier, and Concussion missiles for when the enemy wing leader spreads out damage to their wing mates. X-wings Wedge is a great Wing leader due to his superior initiative, however his ability is does not really help his squad mates. Kullbee Sperado is another alternative, since his ability allows him to first boost and then open his attack foils. Thane Kyrell is interesting due to his I5 and his ability is generally quite nasty. Garven Dreis is the cheapest of the I4 pilots, and his ability to give away spent focus is actually useful to his squad mates. When it comes to equipment, proton torpedoes on everyone coupled with a high initiative wing leader would pose a significant threat, but also come at a high cost. Personally I think I would prefer to run one of the cheaper wing leaders (Garven, Thane or Kullbee) together with a few naked Blue squadron escort, for a nice and economic chunk of fire power Y-wings "Dutch" Vander with Plasma torpedoes accompanied by two gray squadron bombers with Proton torpedoes is a serious amount of firepower for only 139 points Attack shuttle Ezra and Zeb lead by Hera or Sabine would be cheap 3 x 3 firepower squad with som weird re-positioning abilities. These are my ideas on the topic. Would love to hear any criticism and other thoughts on the subject
