I remember our first time through Rougarou, we somehow missed one of the instructions on an act card and actually did what we were supposed to without knowing it, so continued running around until we were defeated. We had to play the whole thing over again and almost missed the same instruction again! I can’t remember what it was, but doing it right did help! Stupid werewolves, they are so distracting!

Guardians of the Abyss stands the test of time for me. Still one of the best standalones in the game. Last time we played it, it was as a prequel to Dream Eaters. We didn’t carry our XP over, but did bring our goodies back to Arkham. It was very thematic. The mangy mutt who kept following me around in the Bazaar kind of became my Guard Dog. I couldn’t just leave him behind to become someone’s dinner, so in gratitude he followed me everywhere (or maybe it was because of the stinky Egyptian cheese I always had on hand. I was never sure). I do have to say he was very uncomfortable in Ulthar. Never showed his face once!

Watch This! was one of his staples when we played him too. He never set any cats on fire, but needed “You take this One” because he kept getting his hand stuck in his hat looking for stuff and pulling out something completely useless!

I know what you mean. I made our tokens by stealing an idea off of Etsy (I feel kind of bad, but saved a bundle). My husband loves to really mix the tokens in the chaos bag and the coin covers kept cracking. So luckily, I was able to make the blessing/curse tokens while we were waiting.

If you haven’t already, I suggest getting Pathfinder with Trish, especially of she doesn’t have Leo. It’s almost like having an extra action every round.

We recently finished RttFA with Ursula, William using a lot of Nathaniel cards (Survivors have a lot of spirit cards) and Jacqueline with her deck cards only. She ended up being pretty powerful. Two days ago, we started Innsmouth with some friends which we will play monthly. We usually wait for the whole campaign to release, so this will be interesting. They have the core set, Dunwich and TFA, but nothing else, so we gave them first dibs on any investigator. Jacqueline was chosen by one. He wants to see how well FFG has done with the new investigator pack, so is limiting himself to just her cards and cards released in Innsmouth. The other investigator they chose was my beloved Patrice, who has already made a new convert. I’m playing Trish who I have been waiting and waiting for and she dies not disappoint. She and Obfuscation are made for each other. And last, but in no way least, we have “Sister Mary the Boxing Nun” (fresh from running the youth program at the Arkham YWCA), smiling sweetly at her enemies, just before she KO’s them. (Her habit’s wide sleeves hide her gloves, so they never see her coming.) It’s a gaggle of girls, but we’ll get the job done!

Couple of noobie questions about Campaign mode

Par-lay Captain! -
I think part of the issue is that since brick and mortar closed for so long this spring, that those same businesses turned to selling their stock online. And now ordering online a lot of what we used to go somewhere to purchase, has become the new norm. Amazon has a lot of different vendors selling AHCG. Far more than a year ago. Some price gouge to some extent, especially for hard to find things, but most retailers stay real close to, if not right at, suggested retail. When we started playing couple of years ago, we bought the base game and Dunwich which was all released from Amazon, before starting to order from FFG. I still check once a week or so, to see if something new is there for people now looking. I have noticed that reprints which sold out in a matter of hours on FFG, is usually on Amazon at retail, for at least a few days or more.

Amazon has Return to Forgotten Age for $29.00. Five copies left I think the problem is two-fold. One, the game was already gaining popularity before Covid, but Covid ratcheted up sales during shut down when people just started buying more games. And they snapped up as many full expansions as they could, because they had plenty of time to play them! So, boom, an unexpected leap in popularity, instead of a more sustained gradual increase. Although why only certain scenarios are so hard to come by does seem weird. Add to that, since my understanding is that print jobs are ordered before announcements, combined with everything getting pushed back 2-3 months and an unexpected huge uptick in sales, they just couldn't have anticipated when they ordered, how different the player base was going to be by release. Or how fast existing stock would sell. Or the increase of people having to order through FFG, because everything was closed. I think that is why the unprecedented happened, and for the first time a new AHCG base expansion was out of stock before its release date. They announced Innsmouth all the way back in February, and the release was unexpectedly pushed way back, they sold way more than anticipated. Now they have tons of reprints to do. It’s a good problem for them to have, as long as they print the out of stock stuff in good time. It’s too bad they couldn’t just use a Scrying spell...

I don’t know about Novellas, but Innsmouth was sold out before it was released too and it is back in stock now. So with this much lead time, maybe they will print more by November. 🤞🏻

In case anyone is looking for any Forgotten Age packs, the whole campaign is available through FFG (except Return To). -
Those two are my husbands favorite Marvel Characters. I’m a bit partial to Ant Man and Thor (Yes, the irony of that is not lost on me).

Cycle VI: The Innsmouth Conspiracy

Any hot takes on the new Innsmouth player cards? -
Very interesting. Different dynamics altogether, with some similarities. I love the idea of being dropped in your own timeline and defeat one of his versions, before joining forces with others. Is Dr Strange your go to guy in this one? My interest in the whole Marvel thing has been piqued for a while, but then my husband just gestures to the enormous quantity of cards we are currently adding to and storing. His eyebrows raise in a query, and I realize he has a point! It does sound pretty fun though.
