  1. As Truth From Fiction attests, I think Seeker has the most thematic secondary cards to her backstory: Connect the Dots, Expose Weakness, Glimpse the Unthinkable, Seeking Answers, Curiosity, The Truth Beckons (which is coming soon), and of course what always happens when she has these visions; Stirring up Trouble Guardian: Kind of thematic with her ability and a Gloria that wants to work with you: The aforementioned First Watch, Let Me Handle This, Stand Together, Inspiring Presence, Ever Vigilant and depending on her deck build, On the Hunt, Get Over Here Rogue: Kind of the opposite of the Guardian idea. Still thematic with her ability, but a Gloria following her own lead (and if you want to follow along, so be it). You Handle this One, Think on your Feet, Momentum, Quick Thinking, Narrow Escape, Elusive, Eavesdrop
  2. I haven’t fiddled around with her yet. My first thought was Seeker like Soakman, but partly because I play them a lot and know the cards so well. Though First Watch did come to mind. I’m wasn’t sure of it would be a little redundant or not. Mind’s Eye is a pretty good card. I played it with Dexter to good effect. It can free up space for other things. Some good thoughts though. On a different note, the Upcoming page has been updated and Arkham is back in the queue!
  3. Yup. The chaos tokens will get pretty gummy and gross when unprotected. Although I ended up having to make pretty much indestructible custom tokens (I totally stole an idea from Etsy), because my husband believes the longer and more energetically he mixes the tokens in the Chaos bag, the more favorable the draw. 😉 Our capsules kept coming apart or cracking. I don’t think that is a problem most people have though. We also sleeve all of our cards. We store them sleeved with inner sleeves and then outer sleeve what ever decks we play. If you become as addicted as we are, it’s worth protecting your investment. But Holy Moly, I don’t want to overwhelm you right out the gate!!
  4. Dunwich: Where Doom Awaits out of stock on FFG. In stock on Amazon $14.95 Forgotten Age: Shattered Aeons out of stock on FFG. One left on Amazon $14.95 The rest of those two campaigns in stock on FFG and Return to Dunwich also available on Amazon.
  5. I agree that Dunwich is very classic Arkham and knowing the story always makes it a lot more fun. It also has some good staple player cards that can be used in a lot of decks. The Investigators also have flexible deck builds, so you can take maximum advantage of having fewer player cards. The Forgotten Age has some of the cards I use a lot with Survivors and both will give you a campaign to play that won’t take 5 more months to finish! I also agree that you should buy it all at once if possible. Of course, since Innsmouth is releasing now, you are pretty assured to get it all, if you’ve already started. Currently, the base expansion and In Too Deep are out of stock on FFG, so it may be hard to find it all if you are starting now. The Pre-built Investigators have a lot of good cards, but obviously without a campaign, which may be defeating the purpose.
  6. I found it on Amazon, but thanks so much for letting me know.
  7. Have you played her yet? I found Dark Revelations on Amazon, so it will be here next week.
  8. They are part of that scenario, so should be there. They do have player backs, so could they be with your player cards? Our bad luck is similar. Three Auto Fails in a row has happened on more than one occasion. We once had a huge plan in TCU on which the whole scenario hinged and it was the perfect solution. Succeed and we were gold. Fail and we were toast. Setting it up went swimmingly and we were down to the test to make it work. Everyone committed cards to make sure we couldn’t fail....and the token is? Auto Fail. On the plus side, we’ve never pulled 3 Ancient Evils in a row. Our most recent run of bad luck was just the other night. We pulled encounter cards back to back that make you choose 2 things you can’t do during your turn, so we couldn’t move, investigate, fight or evade, but adding insult to injury (literally), our location did not allow us to draw cards or resources. So we had to essentially waste our turn with an enemy salivating all over us and one showing up in the enemy phase, to plaster us. It was great!
  9. Thanks. She is never going to be the same I’m afraid, but she is a fighter!
  10. Same. My mom had a stroke around that time, so I don’t think I even knew about the Novella until it was too late.
  11. Wait! You have Gloria? I’m jealous. I didn’t get on that fast enough and it was out of stock when I went to order it. Hmm. I thought her secondary would be trait based. So do you think this basically means we will end up with 5 investigators that have this kind of secondary? Mandy, Tony and now Gloria. We still need a Survivor and a Guardian. Lily Chen maybe?
  12. Well, my In Too Deep finally shipped today. It obviously won’t get here by the release date, but at least it’s coming!
  13. Maybe Ant-Man’s shipping notification is in the quantum realm. That is heartening news though. Here’s to hoping!
  14. Mine usually come on the Sunday or Monday before release too! This time, they couldn’t process my order, because when I ordered, I didn’t factor in that my credit card would expire days before it would be processed. Since they only process once a week, I had to wait an extra week. I was a little worried that they would forget to send it, since it wasn’t in the normal queue and since it’s out of stock, maybe we’d come up empty. That actually happened with our Weaver of the Cosmos. They charged the card and processed it, but forgot to ship it! 3 weeks later, I contacted them and voila! it shipped....to the wrong distribution center. Easily 1,200 miles out of the way in the wrong direction. It hung around there a few days and after another inquiry, finally turned around to make the long trek to us. Those were some pretty pooped arachnids! In all fairness, it’s otherwise pretty seamless and consistent. Not checking my expiration date was my bad.
  15. In Too Deep finally processed. I doubt it will be here by Friday, but as soon as I see shipping now at least I’ll know we are getting one!! On a different note, has FFG just given up on the Upcoming Page?
  16. It’s true that it can impact things. We have played Carcosa at least 4 times and our Doubt and Conviction has been all over the place based on letting our investigators “personalities” choose, but bad card draws, enemies all over the place, weaknesses showing up at the worst possible times, have had far more impact. I guess what I am saying is, sometimes the less pristine outcomes have the best memories attached. In our first time through one campaign (not Carcosa) we ended up winning, but it was at the expense of one of our investigators ending up insane. When you play as much as we do, stuff starts blending together, (who did we play where?) but his story is etched in our memory. Every time we are near Arkham Asylum for one reason or another, we make sure to honor his sacrifice and “visit” him. He’s the only investigator we have woven into other campaigns in this way. So it really ended up being a win for him too! I hope your journey as you pursue answers in the realm of The King in Yellow, are memorable. Have fun!! Let us know how it went.
  17. “Empty your mind Luke...feel the force...” Don’t let that factor in. Carcosa has more than one path to success. Just like with replays, there will be things you can’t “un-know”. We make our decisions with role playing, based on what we think our investigators would most likely do. Some of those conversations are hilarious. For example, we just re-played Dream Eaters which we have played through twice, but this time we did the mini 4 part campaign with just the Dreamers. They made totally different decisions than we have made before, mostly because Winnie was lead investigator, is super ADHD and makes a lot of impulsive choices without a lot of chit chat. Poor Stella had to either follow her, or get stuck delivering kitty kibble in Ulthar for the rest of her days. It was a lot of fun though, because we had resolutions we haven’t seen and it ended totally differently than it has in the past. Savor Phantom of Truth, you’ve earned it!
  18. The create a card with developers is tomorrow at 2:00 CT
  19. Core encounter sets for Dunwich are: Ancient Evils Locked Doors Chilling Cold Striking Fear Agents of Yog-Sothoth Rats Dark Cult Nightgaunts Striking Fear
  20. I think when things were announced, at the beginning of 2020, the print jobs were already run, based on whatever FFG’s forecast was. The pandemic came out of nowhere and a ripple effect was that it added players to the game faster than they could have planned for. Since printers shut down in the spring too, I have to assume that the backlog, added to an unexpected need for reprints, may be part of the problem. Innsmouth is the only cycle so far to be out of print before it’s release dates. Both with the base expansion and the first Mythos pack, but remember it was announced last February and it’s release is 2-3 months behind its original schedule. A lot has changed since then.
  21. We sort ours by class with 8 dividers. 4 dividers for 0 level cards and 4 for XP cards. One division is Non Item Assets (with spells for Mystics) One is Item Assets/Allies. One is Events and the last is Skills. The XP cards are divided the same way, starting with all 1XP cards and working up.
  22. Carolyn is a good choice, but I find that her ability is less useful with fewer investigators. At least the way we play. If there are only two of us, we rarely stick together for long. We kind of play the “divide and conquer” approach. If you don’t have a Seeker, I suggest Norman Withers. He has strong Seeker skills, a high Will, which is needed in Carcosa, becomes a full-on Mystic the more he goes on and has a very useful ability.
  23. In Too Deep is in the process of shipping right now. The release date is Friday November 6.
  24. My order tried to process on Tuesday and my card had expired without my realizing it. Even though I updated it as soon as I got the email and called them on Tuesday to run it again they didn’t. So now I have to wait until next week for them to process it, because they only do that once a week. Such a bummer, because it normally would have shipped Wednesday or yesterday and I’d have it early next week. Now best scenario it will after the release, but I’m a kind of worried that because it is out of stock, there won’t be any left to send me by the time they process it again. I will not be a happy camper if that happens. I ordered it the day it was announced! 🤞🏻
  25. I even had my phone alarm set, so I wouldn’t miss it! Ah well.
