  5. I’m not sure how I feel about the rule against using pass tokens twice in a row. But I’m leaning towards “against.” If the player with fewer ships has a small and finite number of pass tokens to last them the entire match (say, 3), I’m not opposed to that person spending them over consecutive turns. It just means those tokens won’t be available in subsequent rounds. It also brings unpredictability. As written, if a pass token is used, the opposing player knows that next activation, he/she doesn’t have to worry about it. A bit anti-climactic.
  6. Another wish that I’ve harped on before — new base size: Extra Large. Have it bridge the gap between Large and Huge. For example, six defense tokens with two attacks, plus half-point rules? Though it’s too late for the Starhawk to be included (it would have made a perfect first candidate), this new base could accommodate Trade Federation battleships, MC85s, and Resurgents, while offering even greater variability in how ships behave.
  7. The Fleet Support titles are cool and the updated ACM rules are exciting, if only because of what they hint at in V1.5 — great updates.

  9. Funny, I said to myself, “Oh, the Acclamator is bigger than I thought it would be.” The Separatist ships look terrific. The Republic ships look a bit too “bright,” though. They need to be dulled or muted somehow.

  11. Well, the simple answer is because ISDs are supposed to be fast. Everything from the original films to the various tie-in materials support this.
  12. No doubt the Invisible Hand. I would expect at least Squad 3, perhaps even Squad 4, given the size of its hanger in RotS.

  14. He’s definitely coming back. I wouldn’t worry. We’ll probably get him as an officer, commander, and ETA-2 ace, and we might even get him on the Twilight!
  15. I'm all for this. Bring on more asymmetry! The Republic has Adept and Dodge. The Separatists have AI. They can make do without Relay and Strategic.

The answer is immediately. 😜 My wishes for V1.5 and/or Atomic Mass Armada: First Order/Resistance (I make no apologies! haha) Scum (a mostly cardboard/paper faction, with the occasional new ship release -- C-ROC flotilla with Broken Horn, for example) Greater differentiation by type between factions, rather than differentiation by degree. I think the factions should not only have unique personalities, but unique capabilities as well (the Onager takes things in this direction, but I suspect we'll see ignition arcs make the jump to the Separatists soon enough).
  17. I'm only buying one starter (and one squadron pack), but I'm in no rush to have a "competitive" 400pt build. I'll pick up the Invisible Hand in Q1 and be content with my little fleet while I wait for the real goodies: the Lucrehulk and Malevolence (fingers crossed).

  19. Nice to see that named Jedi lose "Dodge" -- defense tokens and Dodge would make them nigh unkillable. Generic Delta-7s are looking pretty attractive after this article.

I am still cautiously optimistic about all of this, and do believe that this could give the games a new lease on life, but boy, do I hope that these developers were already familiar with these games going in, because if not... yikes. "Oh, you've never played or even watched football before? You're the new coach."
  21. Well, we already know that the Republic is getting the Pelta, and odds are good that it will get the Arquitens as well, so your wish will at least be partially granted. I myself would love to see a new Scum faction that makes use of some (but not all) of the existing ships, but with different stats and upgrade bars. It could be a hodge-podge with a completely different personality from any other faction. I agree with what was said above though regarding product news. I don’t think we’ll hear about anything we don’t already know about until GenCon. The question is: will AMG simply announce the next waves for their respective Star Wars games or will they plant a flag and say, “This is what we have planned for your favorite games. The future is bright.”?
  22. Doubts above Wave 10? None. Doubts about Wave 11? Sure, who wouldn't, since we know so little. Was Wave 11 (Clone Wars Wave 3) already planned, with AMG simply taking the baton and running with it? Or was Wave 11 planned and AMG has decided to scrap it to do their own thing? With Clone Wars being in development for at least two years (it was first teased at GenCon 2018, if I recall), I have to imagine that the team at least had a road map in place for the first several waves. But ultimately, only the insiders know. I'm anxious to hear more about what happens next, beyond the brief Q&A that was released.
  23. Painted. It's one of the core reasons I bought into the game in the first place. I've re-painted a couple of my duplicates, but I very much value the pre-painted models. Now, could we split the difference and ask for at least two per year?
  24. So let’s say AMG does have a go at making these games their own: what would people like to see that they wouldn’t have expected from FFG? My two (fairly unoriginal) requests would be more factions (considering the game went five years with just two, FFG appeared in no rush to add more) and more expansions released per year. Admittedly though, those are pretty boring (and expected). Maybe some of you have more original ideas.
