  1. I had that on my first Romodi/Onager Game. Frustrating! In a certain way it is always predictable as you want to take out a ship as a main goal (carrier for Aces, biggest ship from the opponent). The problem for me as Raddus always was a list with squadrons, as you can block the deployment zone easy if you know what the Raddus is up for. And it was always a dice race to drop in front of an ISD or near a good bomber list. It had always pros and cons and for me it was okay. It was a fun way to play as I like that asynchronus gameplay. Now he is a Commander that only has a drop zone near the flagship, which is okay for some Profundity lists, but now it is highly predictable. There are always lists where you have to adapt (like playing against an SSD) and thats ok for me, that makes Armada less generic. Sloane is a much more painful opponent to play against, kill the crit rerolls and she is okay.
  2. Nice article. " I think it is fairly obvious that FFG does not like the Lifeboat strategy. " But first they release Corvus for more Imperial Liveboat Fun
  3. I play Romodi with my Onager. Cracken is useless and I get an extra dice.
  4. Low activations, easy predictable, won't work.
  5. That is simply wrong and this "arguments" can be adapted to Sloane or Rieekan. I played him 2 years now in Tournaments and it was never easy. A command 3 nerf where enough but now Raddus is a round 1 drop Gimmick.
  6. But you have 2 big problems: Deployment and your bid, if you are 2nd player, your Hammerhead and MC75 will do absolutly nothing if your opponment is smart. That is my version, bid for 1st, a nice mc80 with engine techs for range fights and a Speed 4 deployment and 2 GR75 for an alternate Raddus Drop. And you can put Hondo on a GR75 to have one more officer ... Starhawk Raddus (0/378/400) ============================ Starhawk-class Mk.I (140 + 40: 180) + Lando Calrissian (4) + Kyrsta Agate (5) + Cham Syndulla (5) + Leading Shots (4) + Magnite Crystal Tractor Beam Array (10) + Concord (12) MC80 Battle Cruiser (103 + 52: 155) + Admiral Raddus (26) + Strategic Adviser (4) + Caitken and Shollan (6) + Engine Techs (8) + H9 Turbolasers (8) GR-75 Medium Transports (18 + 6: 24) + Hondo Ohnaka (2) + Comms Net (2) + Bright Hope (2) GR-75 Medium Transports (18 + 1: 19) + Quantum Storm (1) Most Wanted Solar Corona Contested Outpost
  7. Your problem is, you only have on ship for deployment. If you want the range for the Starhawk drop, simply take a CR90 with Engine Techs and in round 2 you can deploy the Starhawk in Speedrange 5 and gives you more advantages all in all.
  8. You can't dodge an artillery strike. You can only sit on the ground and pray it won't hit you
  9. You can modify dice, Spinal is not modifying and don't take place in the modify dice step. So you can argue both ways, we have to wait for FFG to make that clear. Spinal is not increasing your printed armament, it increases your initial attack pool.
  10. ****, thats really sad. He told us at the german nationals that it is his curse to be second.
  11. You have seen my APT Raddus in Action, don't you? no DCO = 5 open Damage Cards in Round 2 = dead end. 4 with Brunson because you can only get rid of one. For sure it's a gamble - like Kallus. But you will lose 2-9 and the tournament is over, so it's a safe pick. My choice is Intel / DCO / Kallus for officers.
  12. It's a die more against ships, if you provide a token every round. For 4 Points. Engeneering with Commands and Nav with JJ (my choice over Piett). I played against a very good Sloane Rhymer fleet and only lost because I had no Kallus. With Kallus you can get him down fast and you can reroll that crits. You won't come into the situation where you can get a initial shot on Rhymer on long range. He will initiate the battle and then he is in close range for PDR. Vader was just an example that can be good in the end even for squads. Vader is a must have in my opinion because you have a lot of officers that you don't need in the end. You can Sacrifice DCO against squads or Kallus againt ships.
  13. Ravager + Point-Defense Reroute should be better. Ravager is strong against ships and with PDR you can reroll that nasty crits. Not good vs Rhymer in combination with QLT, but Annihilator is in my opinion too expensive for a one time reroll. With H9, Vader and Leading Shots you don't need it that hard.
  14. Put Vader on the Gozanti. If you don't have use for DCO, Intel Officer, Palpatine, Brunson oder JJ anymore you can kill them for some nice rerolls. These 1 Point doesn't hurt.
  15. He is more powerful. He can move and attack and the Lamdas can also attack in their activation. He also can go in, destroy some squadrons and move back, bombers can't. He can move to the opposing deployment zone in Round 1 and kill Raddus. He is way more versatile than a bomber list ...
  16. This won't work. You have to play my objectives without tokens ...
  17. No problem, for me it was impressive to see this. But I think I had learned more against your standard competitive list. I also don't know what I could have done better. Besides the fact that I had a squadron less fleet (besides the Malee Hurra drop for black crits). Fly away and hide is hard against this setup. I think confront you and kill of 1-2 carriers was the best option. Perhaps concentrate on the VSD ... but for me it was not obvious that the ships go down THAT fast.
  18. He is totally broken, that's fore sure. Perhaps a good squadron list with lots of counter can handle him, but when you have to create a list to counter an omnipotent trick list, something went wrong.
  19. I'm looking forward to see a battle between an Onager vs Onager camping fleet.
  20. Just give the Interdictor a Superweapon
  21. I get your point but I don't share it. Just try to hold me in your superweapon arc, perhaps you can shoot one ship (without blue dice) and I'm in range. It doens't cripple fleet variability, it is an enhancement to me. Just try to catch up my MSU CR90 list. It's an expensive trade to just shoot down one CR90 in Round 2. To me, it is a weapon against big ships where you can shoot 2 times for sure before he comes too close.
  22. It all depends on the opponents list, like always. He can place the token after his activiation. So as an offensive Raddus I will drop Round 2 right before him. With fast ships I will simply fly away out of his superweapon arc. The SSD is mostly in Range Round 2. But yeah, you can harass oppponents that are flying a more defense way.
  23. Too powerful. My guess is a new officer that provides a salvo token.
