I do think that boardgame world changed a few years ago. I used to be very excited from many new games and now there are very few to none to do such to me.

    Rundbound 3e.
I would love to see a big box expansion that contains a new map & scenarios!
Are ther plans to continue developing Runebound 3e?

    Hello andrew
Ive also got a question about descent 2nd edition just checking if the game will be supported in the future such as more phisical merch or as digital on the app? I for one would love to see more campain books using existing tiles but i would love the 12 last heroes from first too so id like to hear any news on the series.

                                                 Thanks alot

Edit: also if we are getting more even in like a print and play format will we be getting any more overlord support id love that as its my favorite mode?

I am also interested in the future of the Descent franchise.
Considering the product itself, and its business value, I see 2 directions for the near future (excuse any "shortsightness" on my part, as I am not a business analyst/manager):
    1. Keep supporting Descent 2nd edition, with its steady fanbase being the main consumers (I am sure there are numbers for that).
    2. Move on to a 3rd edition, with the prospect of new consumers coming in and a subset of the older ones to follow.
So, if (1): How will you facilitate such support and is that reasonably profitable to keep 2nd edition going? Is the app a cheap solution for adding a few more years to the product and at the same time hopefully a few more consumers?
If (2): How big of a step would that be in terms of gameplay? How will it be alluring to fans of 2nd edition to invest in it with e.g. just a conversion kit? Would a 3rd edition be heavy on (or only) app-based gameplay? Are the expectations for new consumers enough to justify a 3rd edition?
Thank you for interacting with us this way. Looking forward to the discussion.

    +1 for whatsup with descent.
    Specifically also wondering:
If it is abandoned will the road to legend app remain available? If it is rebooted, will the 2nd edition road to legend app remain available? Will conversion kits for 2nd to 3rd be available? If it is continued as 2nd edition, will we see more digital content, physical content or both?

I am a 100% owner of Descent, IA, and Battlelore. I can't bring myself to get emotionally invested in any more of your products when these AMAZING systems are neglected/dead/abandoned. It takes a lot of money to get involved in these types of games, and I am much more likely to continue buying into a system which I already love and own rather than jump into another system that can be expected to be abandoned in a few years.

    GIVE US MORE!!!

I'd like to jump on the Descent and Terrinoth bandwagon and ask you what's in the pipeline for it?
You went through a rebranding from Runebound to Terrinoth a year and a half ago now but since then it's all been a bit quiet. We've had Heroes of Terrinoth (which I love but which doesn't appear to be being supported beyond the base game), a Terrinoth setting for Genesys (which I'm not too fussed about to be honest), a small physical update for Descent 2nd Edition (which appears to be a final, low-cost add on to please the completionists) and a campaign for Road to Legend (which is greatly appreciated). It's certainly not nothing but it's a far cry from the kind of content an awful lot of Descent/Terrinoth fans are calling for - as evidenced by the number of posts on the subject in this forum.
I appreciate Terrinoth may not be in the same cash cow category as Star Wars or Marvel but it still appears to have sold pretty well. Please either tell us you have exciting plans for the future or put us out of our misery once and for all and tell us you've finally ditched Terrinoth for Star Wars, Marvel et al because it's just not putting the food on the table!

    Hey Andrew,

I think most of my questions are covered above. However, I would like to take a slightly different tact.
FFG has always developed game systems with the aim of supporting those systems with multiple releases or expansions. I am thinking here of the LCG ranges, Descent 2.0 and Imperial Assault.  More recently we have seen some titles released with a much shorter life span such as Runebound 3e, others with a much slower release timetable e.g. Arkham Horror 3e and some others which seemingly were going to get further expansions but didn't e.g. Heroes of Terrinoth.
Please could you explain what the plans are for these particular games and what factors influence the decisions around expanding game content.
Also can you say whether we are beginning to see a change in how FFG operates with fewer new titles and a more focused approach to expansions i.e.  not all titles will necessarily get expansion content. And is this new strategy a reaction to an increasingly flooded board game market, the impact of Kickstarter or other factors.

FFG has made a transition for their the dungeon-crawl, adventure games like Mansions of Madness 1st ed., Descent 1st where the game operates normally (meaning with no app support), to Imperial Assault and Descent 2nd where the game was stand-alone, but later gained app support for automation, to finally Mansions of Madness 2nd and Lord of the Rings, Journeys in Middle Earth which are completely app-dependent.  Personally, I prefer the games in the middle of this transition as they will always be playable regards of apps and computers but also still benefit from the added functionality of the apps.  Is it FFG's intention to continue in the progression in making games which are completely app dependent exclusively for the adventure style games?

I'd like to echo some previous posters about having great interest in knowing if there will be any more physical product for Descent 2nd Edition? An update to the Quest Vault to support our modding and writing community would be appreciated as well.

As a longtime Imperial Assault fan, and newcomer to Journeys in Middle Earth, I find the lack of communication on both of these products (JiME less so, obviously) especially disheartening.
While I understand that there are limitations on how much you can say about development and product statuses, the near complete lack of communication is really causing a lot of confusion, anger and abandonment by your customers.
What are your thoughts on the manner in which FFG chooses to communicate (or not) with it's player bases, and how would you improve the damaged relationships with those of us who feel like we've been abandoned?

I am very interested in the answer to this question, as I'm sure many Descent players are.
However, I would also like to add:
Are there any FFG efforts to patch or update the Descent Quest Vault? There are open technical bug reports which have not received responses since before 2017. A number of users are actively trying to build a fan-content community, but are hitting a stone wall. A "development suspended/cancelled" notice as a bare minimum would be polite. Thank you for your time!

I also "N"th all the "what's up with Terrinoth/Descent" questions.  Same with Imperial Assault.
    My questions are:
Are there plans for releasing new, stand alone campaigns (either as digital PDFs or as physical books) for Descent and IA's traditional one vs many mode? What are the plans for releasing additional co-op campaigns for the Descent and IA apps? Are there any plans to release an official scenario/campaign editor for the games that use apps (Descent, IA, MoM 2e, Journeys in Middle Earth, etc) in order to allow fans to create their own content?  Such an editor would go a long way toward extending the life span of these games and drive product purchases (and in fact there is already a fairly decent home-brew community editor which I am sure you are aware of). Are there any plans to expand your printing operations in the US and/or manufacture more products in the US as opposed to China given the current trade climate and the recent issues FFG has had with respect to its overseas printers and shipping partners (like, what happened with that GoT Board Game playmat)? Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions!

Is there a possibiliy the campaigns, that, fans, have created, could ever be "official" content ? As it is, or in some way or another.
Personnaly, I've created theses 2 and I don't mind about money of rights, as long as it offers the game some more life

The first one is far more epic, but with a bit of work, the second one can be really great too.

    And what about expansions ?
This one is my work too, so, same as for campaigns. But maybe Sadgit Zaltyre and the others are thinking the same as me ?
I'm sure this game has enough fan base so, at least, campaigns as books can be attractive as for players and for FFG.

The more the game lives, the better it will be for all

I'm aware that this question might sound a bit confrontational, and if this is skipped over I'm fine with that. But if you would answer a more controversial question, here it is:
Are you aware, that you seem to have a huge issue in communicating with your "core" audience? A lot of your favourite game lines are put on hold without any explanation (prominent examples are IA and D2E), and there is no direct communication in your forums.
I guess this would be understandable, if you'd primarily try to reach more casual buyers by targeting the mass market, but this is not the same audience that is buying 10+ expansions for your games, or would even try to keep them alive by producing community driven content when you no longer support games directly.
So are there any plans to improve communication in your forums at all?

I'll add to those asking about Descent. I'd love to see the last of the 1E heroes released with new models for 2E; the originals looks so tiny and low on detail in comparison, especially to the last few 2E expansions when the minis got scaled up!

I also would like to know the future for the Terrinoth series of games. I'm a massive Descent fan and hope for a 3rd edition at some point. Runewars: Mini may have passed (I really liked it too:() but are you straying away from the world? I thought a lot of good stuff was in the story books for Runewars: Minis and hope there's still a good future for those games.

What is the future of Descent ...
Will FFG ever produce the missing 12 Heroes from D1e for D2e?
Will there be any further development for D2e (*** NOT *** for the app, but physical content)?
    Will there be a D3e?
EDIT: Why is the D2e Quest Vault and its various issues, bugs, etc. completely ignored?  It started as BETA about 5+ years ago, and continues in that state today.  There would be far more community development for the game if the software simply worked.  There is already an extensive bug report thread for the vault, so all it takes is someone at FFG to pay attention.  If you don't want to maintain it anymore, would you be willing to provide access to the code, so that the community could host it and maintain it?
