  1. 1 Bank will be white. R4 lowers the difficulty, doesn't make it blue. I don't expect the P.I.E. to be expensive, for a twice per game thing, I'd price it at 2-4 points. Astro is cheap. Question is how much will the Config cost. Adding a slot and a buff to your Lock is good, without much of a downside. Maybe 4-6? Unless the cost of configs will be baked into the chassis itself and they will be both 0. Then again I would consider the "Beach" upgrade superior to the "Esk" one in every way. Having the ability to spend Lock to just flip a Blank is amazing. Having the ability to spend two Charges before knowing your dice results, even if you can combo it with the R7 Astro or Marksmanship is quite weak. Especially on a two dice gun. It's just unreliable. Any 3 Agility ship should avoid it without much problem. You will struggle to ionise 2 Agility ships as well. And at 1 Agility even a small ship will be a matter of luck. The only upside is, the Crit is always Ion, not like the other ion weapons, where you need more then one hit/crit to hand out a token.
  2. Another option that I quite enjoy. "Rampage": Marksmanship, Tractor Beam, Autoblasters, Maneuver-Assist Fifth Brother: Passive Sensors, Homing Missiles Seventh Sister: Passive Sensors, Mag-Pulse Warheads Major Vynder: Marksmanship, Autoblasters, FCS, Advanced SLAM, XG-1 Assault You get a beefy Tie Brute, two agile knife fighters and a speedy flanker.
  3. So I have been looking at the V-Wing chassis and cannot help but notice, that "Odd Ball" in it might be actually busted. Depending on the points of course. So... The chasis is a 2/3/2/2. So a squishy dumpling with little pew pew but lots of dodgy dodge. Now the dial is not perfect, with those red 1 Banks, but that might actually help the Odd Duckling do well in it. So lets consider the following build: R4-P44: after you fully execute a red maneuver, if there is an enemy ship in your bullseye, gain one calculate token; Alpha-3B "Besh" Configuration: while you perform a primary attack, you can spend your lock on the defender to change 1 of your blank or focus results to a hit result; add a payload slot; Ion Limiter Override: after you fully execute a red maneuver, you may perform a Roll action, even while stressed. If you do, roll an attack die: on a hit result gain 1 strain, and on a crit result gain 1 ion token; Precision Ion Engine: before you execute a speed 1-3 K-Turn maneuver, you may spend 1 Charge to execute that maneuver as a S-Loop maneuver instead; So technically... We push the 4 Red maneuvers to 6. We have the option to perform a Roll after each of them, although red, so its not ideal. If after all that we have an enemy in our bullseye, we gain a Calculate and a Lock on said enemy. And while we perform an attack with the pitiful 2 Dice primary, we can reroll both with a Lock, we can spend a Calculate to flip an eye and a Lock to flip a Blank or Eye. Worst case scenario, we roll 2 Blanks, spend Lock to reroll both. This can be quite good tbh.
  4. So using a promotion at a local store I got myself the VCX-100. Since I had the Hotshots for a while and I really like the Alexsandr pilot ability in the Ghost, I decided to look into some list building with the bully. And... I am in a bit of a bind right now. I have two lists, but not really sure what to think about them. If anyone with more experience could offer some advice? #1 Alexsandr Kallus: FCS, Magva Yarro, Ion Cannon Turret, Veteran Turret Gunner (90) Benthic Two Tubes: Perceptive Copilot, Contraband Cybernetics, U-Wing (56) Edrio Two Tubes: R3 Astromech, Advanced Proton Torpedoes, Contraband Cybernetics, X-Foils (53) #2 Alexsandr Kallus: FCS, Magva Yarro, Ion Cannon Turret, Veteran Turret Gunner (90) Garven Dreis: Baze Malbus, Veteran Tail Gunner (56) "Dutch" Vander: R3 Astromech, Skilled Bombardier, Seismic Charges, Ion Cannon Turret (53) One has a lot of action economy on the X-Wing and I especially like the fact, the U-Wing can stop and still engage the X-Wing. But the VCX mostly relies on the enemy shooting him to engage double mods. Although the 4 primary followed with an Ion threat is a big no no to anyone in the scopes. The second one has the benefit of being all I4. Garven in the ARC-170 can be quite fun. Baze can give him more Focus tokens for the potential double tap, which engages his pilot ability some more. "Dutch" is mostly a support ship threatening with some Ion as well and dropping bombs to create rough terrain for the enemy. I am considering the Concussion Bombs that are coming out soon, as they are the same price. And "Dutch" can drop and reload to prevent carpet bombing.

I have to disagree on the Cassian in this list. If the B-Wing was a Braylen, then yes. Cassian is a must have. It's Ten though, who sheds Stress like there is no tomorrow. This Dutch is great, a good support piece. I would leave the Ion Cannon, as this opens up a big no fun zone behind the Y-Wing who is known to turn like a brick. I do agree that Ten wants to grab B-Foils. That way he can get double mods without any outside help. Now... If I were to keep those ships and the core of the build, I would roll something like this. Not too many changes, as I mostly agree with what you picked. Wedge Antilles: X-Foils "Dutch" Vander": Ion Cannon Turret, Seismic Charges Ten Numb: B-Foils Heff Tobber: Intimidation, U-Wing This is a solid build where "Dutch" delivers Lock for Wedge. U-Wing is a hammer which will engage the rest of your team to deliver even more pain. Although if I am to be honest, I would roll a subtle change to this still. Garven Dreis: X-Foils "Dutch" Vander: Ion Cannon Turret, Seismic Charges Ten Numb: B-Foils, FCS, Jamming Beam, Autoblasters Heff Tobber: Intimidation, Baze Malbus, U-Wing This way you have 1 I2 for blocks and 3 I4 for damage. I have to say, Garven is in no way Wedge, but he can share his focus around, which can engage double mods on "Dutch". Baze Malbus allows the U-Wing to get more Focus tokens if he comes under fire. Alternative is "Zeb" Orellios and FCS for the same price. Why not Braylen on the B-Wing? You have the points, just drop FCS and you have the same bid. He is so much better at being a bully. Those rerolls really hurt on the double tap.
  6. Oh my, I totally missed the Hyperspace tag 😅 The list is straight forward in my opinion. If going Autoblasters, grab Marksmanship and FCS. They don't work at R3 and you can grab Locks with a Roll > Lock to aim bullseye. That seems like the most viable thing to do with the Bees. Get in close and deliver pain.
  7. I am testing this on Fly Casual right now: Rampage: Maneuver Assist, Tractor Beam Seventh Sister: Passives, Ion Missiles Fifth Brother: Passives, Homing Missiles Echo: Outmaneuver, Passives If you gonna take Ved Foslo, give him the new Precision Ion Engines. He can use them, as the card states executing a 1-3 Koio, not revealing.
  8. If you are taking a one slot cannon, there is nothing stopping you from taking a Jamming Beam in the other slot. And it can shift a so so exchange into your favour against Reinforcing low Agility targets. I honestly think, that a Jamming Beam plus Ion Cannon on someone like Braylen or Ten is just hilariously potent control double tap. Once it goes off, you sit on their tail and dakka dakka for as long as you like. As for the proposed build, I'd swap marksmanship for the new Deadeye Shot. Sometimes you roll that one Crit on a R3 shot and I think it's better to spend it than to let the enemy roll Defence. Then again having it for the Autoblasters is very useful. Another option could be the Selfless, although I really think the talent should work on both Hits and Crits. Lastly I would swap Passives for FCS. Passives are cool, but low Initiative means you will be getting shots in without any mods. I'd rather engage at R3 with a Focus, especially since Autoblasters don't work at R3, than a Lock. Afterwards you can move and Lock, especially well with the Config linked actions and engage the double tap.
  9. I am just going to say, giving an R7-Series droid to the Republic triggers me xD It was first designed and developed for the E-Wing Starfighter. Years after the V-Wing stopped being constructed. But seriously, this seems like a solid addition to the Republic. I still whish for a 3 dice clone ship other than the bulky ARC, but hey... Crits into Ions seems like a fun mechanic, if you can ensure they will land. A neat little control tool. The I4 seems like a super fun support ship, but I fear it will be priced accordingly. I really like to see another I5 that is not Oddball, but surprisingly the later might actually see play now. Although the lack of Boost > Red Focus really sucks for him.

    Custom foam trays?

For transport I have my trusty Feldherr bag. I was more speaking of storage at home. I like the foam trays, because they give me a feeling of "safety" when I drop the ships into a box. Idid try the paper microhangars as @Phoenix4427 mentioned and was really happy with them for a while. But just the whole mess of taking ships out and all that was too much for me. Now I am mostly looking for a tray, that would allow me to carry specific large ships. For now I have a Lambda, Decimator, LAAT and two Falcons that I think require this treatment. Although maybe the ARC-170 could use it as well? I store all the other ships like X-Wings and Ties in generic rectangle slots.
  11. What @Ryfterek said. Warthog is too much of a game changer to pass on his ability. Especially since it's not that expensive. If you want to sling Torpedoes at low Initiative, you need Wolfpack to enable those locks. This is what I would run instead: Red Squadron Bomber (29) Dorsal Turret (2) Plasma Torpedoes (8) Synchronized Console (1) Ship total: 40 Half Points: 20 Threshold: 4 Red Squadron Bomber (29) Dorsal Turret (2) Plasma Torpedoes (8) Synchronized Console (1) Ship total: 40 Half Points: 20 Threshold: 4 "Warthog" (54) Wolfpack (4) Synchronized Console (1) Ship total: 59 Half Points: 30 Threshold: 5 Gold Squadron Trooper (25) Cluster Missiles (4) Synchronized Console (1) Ship total: 30 Half Points: 15 Threshold: 3 Gold Squadron Trooper (25) Cluster Missiles (4) Synchronized Console (1) Ship total: 30 Half Points: 15 Threshold: 3 Total: 199 View in Yet Another Squad Builder 2.0: https://raithos.github.io/?f=Galactic Republic&d=v8ZsZ200Z361X137W234WWWW211Y361X137W234WWWW211Y414XWW352WWWW211Y321X98W211Y321X98W211&sn=No hero’s&obs=
  12. Warthog: Cody + Ghost Company Squad Seven Veteran: Dedicated Squad Seven Veteran: Dedicated Ric Olié: Daredevil Id rather have one pocket ace in this setup. You can joust with LAAT and Arcs while Ric threatens the flank. Ideally each of your ships shoots with three dice. So you can have those rerolls matter from the LAAT. The LAAT is a pure support in this squad, taking a Focus and trying to spread some Strains for the Arcs to abuse.
  13. So I am expanding my collection slowly and tried to keep up with the storage foams for my ships. But since there was a big sale at my local distributor, I find myself in possession of a new faction, not to mention the new LAAT/i gunship. And here is my problem starting. While there are foam trays for old ships like ARC-170, Y-Wings and so on, I fear that the new ships won't get the same treatment any time soon. I have been looking for alternative foam providers than Feldherr. But sadly nothing really fits. I found this site, where you can plan your own foam and they make it for you and was curious if anyone has tried it? The app is named CreateIt or something and it seems to let you design your foam cutouts with the use of a few simple shapes. Does anyone have any experience with it? Or perhaps knows of an alternative way of making custom foam trays?
  14. Could use the points to swap one Jedi to a 7B variant? With a LAAT, having a native 3 Dice attack is amazing.
  15. Warthog: Wolfpack, Ghost Company plus four Blue Squadron Protectors: Dedicated, Synchronized Console, Concussion Missiles. Simple, with a lot of pain and beefy.
  16. I put him either on Wolfe or Jag, as @5050Saint has noticed they generate their own mods. You can fit "Jag" with 7B Ani and CLT Obi in a squad. "Wolfe" as well if you are fine with 1 point bid. A funny alternative I was considering is to fly "Wolfe"/"Jag" with Aayla Secura on board and C1-10P+Sense CLT Plo and 7B Obi. It can hurt like quite a lot.
  17. IMHO the best support for Republic Aces might be an ARC with Plo Koon now, that Reinforce on an Arc can be amazing. Although Aayla Secura would be quite a potent action economy addition. LAAT seems more like an addition to a Torrent Swarm with Dedicated and a Jedi General on board. It's too expensive in a low ship list. Cheapest LAAT is 50 I think. 66 if you slap it with Aayla. Leaving 134 points for two Aces. It's not really enough... Jedi Aces are expensive like ****. Maybe 7B Ani and Ric? Ric being the cheapest piece in the list seems awkward.

    RZ-1 A-wing

Could just add an A-Wing Talent with a "If you dakka dakka in bullseye, you can add 1 Die up to three" to show the 'aceness' of the ship, the precise dodgefighter. It would not be that great with Heroic and Advanced Optics, because they fall off in value the more die you roll. If you could promote precision flying on A-Wings, that would help them be the high skill ships they should be.
