I really enjoy flying Leia and the two I4 B-Wings. I use Kanan Jarrus to open up Braylen's dial up. Its a very beefy list, where each ship can give itself double mods with little to no effort. Leia with Kanan is there to engage Braylen a bit more, but it works very well on her as well. She can just zoom over a debries field and still do actions. From my reading of Rebel abilities, they strike me as the "Stressed? So what?" as well as "I rub your back you rub mine?" kind of a faction. They have the highest amount of pilots who can work around Stress or actually use it for their benefit. And have quite a lot of ships, that are quite potent support ships as a pilot ability. I am really having a blast flying them, because while they have a low floor, the ceiling is out there with the other factions. Even higher sometimes, because the faction's aces are not as mobile, so it takes quite a lot out of the player to fly someone like Wedge or Luke to their fullest potential.

No, because of the trigger window. Novice Technician is almost always better on Han, thanks to his ability to reroll the die. Chewie is good on anything else, that has lots of Hull and hates Crits.

Y-Wings have 1 Agility and no Reinforce. Throw a bunch of 2 Red attacks at them and they drop like flies. I do think the Y-Wing is in a tricky price position, because well... It's cheaper than the Rebel one and better by a long shot. Throw a lot of ships at him. Block with a drone and murder the one without mods. If you are a CIS player. Can slap a bunch of Trade Drones with Sun Fac. Tractor one Y-Wing, pull it into R1 of your swarm, or onto an obstacle, or into bullseye of Sun Fac and just murder the no Defence ship with a barrage of fire. Can fit Maul with Grevious and Kraken and a bunch of drones.

I really like Rebels as a faction, with its cross ship synergies and unique ways to deal with stress. My only problem with it is, that other factions can usually fit their combos on one ship, making losing a piece not that impactful. For Rebels losing Dutch means less action economy. They are solid. Fun. I'm just waiting to see what the Resistance B-Wing will be like. Because that with access to Tech like Pattern Analyser will be interesting. Rebels are solid, with "Aces" having simple abilities and being quite straightforward. I really lack a true Ace in the faction, who could reposition after movement. The best so far is Jake at I4 and maybe Sabine at I3. But that initiative...

I've been thinking about trying Yoda with Anakin and Obi-Wan all in ETA-2s. Anakin Skywalker: Brilliant Evasion, Predator, Stealth Device Obi-Wan Kenobi: Brilliant Evasion, Predator, Stealth Device Yoda: Patience, Heightened Perception, Tractor Beam, Stealth Device Idea is, that Yoda is a Force Power Plant for the two aces. But he can also engage at I7 to make a Tractor Beam shot at an enemy, possibly moving them into the bullseye of Anakin or Obi-Wan, with a lowered defence. I think the ETA-2 Yoda will be much more survivable, due to three Agility and the native nimbleness of the ship. The I3 and System Phase reposition makes him a decent blocker as well. Who can later engage like an Ace. That said, I think the best Support Ship for double Aces for the Republic is "Wolfe" with Aayla Secura on board. Focus > Coordinate, a bunch of health and a good ability. He is a threat on his own. A fun option might be R2-D2 (Y-Wing) with Yoda, Seventh Fleet Gunner and Ion Turret. I think it's the cheapest crew carrier in the faction.
-
But at I3 it's a... Doubious investment. The best I can think of for Yoda would be either Patience + Battle Meditation or Patience + Sense. Just use it as an Ace Blocker and to assist either your Clone Meatshields or other Aces in aiming Bullseyes.

I fly it with Howlrunner carrying Swarm Tactics, whole Inferno where Seyn has Marksmanship and an Academy Pilot. I think it has a small bid, but not much. I really like the Hyperspace version. My only real problem with this Howlrunner list is the fact, you have to fly in a block. Anything that gets behind you gets free shots at your booty.
-
It opens up more turn around possibilities. With her Boost/Roll before movement, it is almost impossible to block her, or predict where she goes. Although I have to admit, having an Ion Turret would be nice. I expect we will get some "Rebels" pilots in the upcoming Phoenix Squadron Pack, which might open up more chassis for this themed list. A-Wings and B-Wings hopefully. An I3 1 Force A-Wing with Ezra's ability would be nice. As he can easily stress himself from the Ships native Boost. Hera in a B-Wing would be amazing as well. Finally a decent I5 B-Wing.

If you are taking Aethersprite Obi, I don't see the need for Brilliant Evasion. You save the Focus, which is just straight out better. Instead I would invest the points in Sense on Aayla or Obi. It helps immensely with the Actis ability. Although I am myself a great fan of Daredevil Ric and Actis Obi. So gonna try this myself. Not sold on Contrail Vs Odd Ball yet. (51) Aayla Secura [Eta-2 Actis] (2) Brilliant Evasion (2) Predator Points: 55 (49) Obi-Wan Kenobi [Eta-2 Actis] (2) Brilliant Evasion (2) Predator Points: 53 (45) Ric Olié [Naboo Royal N-1 Starfighter] (2) R4-P Astromech (2) Daredevil Points: 49 (33) "Contrail" [Nimbus-class V-wing] (2) R4 Astromech Points: 35 Total points: 193

I think I would swap Ezra and Sabine in the ships. I don't like Ezra's Tie, because he barely ever uses his ability. On the other hand in the Shuttle, he can Roll > Evade and have a Force for up to two eyes in a roll. Makes him much more durable. Also Sabine with P.I.E. is an insanely agile and unpredictable blocker. (72) Hera Syndulla [VCX-100 Light Freighter] (12) Kanan Jarrus (1) "Zeb" Orrelios (3) Intimidation (0) Ghost Points: 88 (40) Ezra Bridger [Attack Shuttle] (1) "Chopper" (3) Heightened Perception (0) Phantom (2) Dorsal Turret Points: 46 (28) Sabine Wren [TIE/ln Fighter] (3) Precision Ion Engines (1) Composure Points: 32 (32) AP-5 [Sheathipede-class Shuttle] (2) Predator Points: 34 Total points: 200

I would love to fit a Sense in this, but... Flying this in Fly Casual is quite decent. Although it bugs out on the Obi ability. (51) Aayla Secura [Eta-2 Actis] (2) Brilliant Evasion (2) Predator Points: 55 (49) Obi-Wan Kenobi [Eta-2 Actis] (2) Brilliant Evasion (2) Predator Points: 53 (32) "Odd Ball" [Nimbus-class V-wing] (3) R4-P44 (2) Alpha-3B "Besh" (3) Precision Ion Engines Points: 40 (45) Ric Olié [Naboo Royal N-1 Starfighter] (5) R2-C4 (2) Predator Points: 52 Total points: 200

I think the ETA force power choice really depends on who you are flying. Anakin with Extreme Maneuvers will be an insanely agile knife fighter. Obi-Wan with Sense seems like a no-brainer, thanks to his three Force. If you take Aayla, Brilliant Evasion is great on any other Jedi, especially since it dropped in points. Shaak Ti seems like a Patience support ship. Also... Shield Upgrade < Stealth Device on any Force user. Stealth Device can save you from multiple hits by rolling that additional Defence Die. Shield will save you from one. Especially with Aayla I would always pick Stealth Device. Hull Upgrade doesn't raise your half points threshold, so I am reluctant about it. Ithink ETA might want to run Afterburners especially on Ani with Extreme Maneuvers. It's a bit of a Vader issue of lots of points on a chassis vulnerable to blanks, with even less HP. Sense might mitigate it. But I really think having that option of additional boost will be big. The System Phase reposition makes it an amazing cloud hugger, that's for sure.
-
The chassis is powerful, but... Requires upgrades to get the best out of it. System Phase Reposition is good, very good. Especially paired up with Sense, its amazing. The Ani + Obi duo is also quite interesting. But... The ship is a 2(3) / 3 / 3 / 0, meaning any blank on defense hurts a lot. It eats all Crits immediately. That's a big problem. If the enemy reads you, you can lose a third of your list in a single shot. This is massive. Ani with Extreme Maneuvers and Lone Wolf is amazing. Super agile, super sturdy. The fact he can take Hate is okay, but with just 3 Hull you ever really regain 2 Force. Aayla is a super fun addition to an Ace list, helping mitigate the blanks on defence. But it requires her to be up close to the enemy, which can end in a very short lifespan for the Twi'Lek. Obi is okay. The fact he can give himself a Focus is great. That he can give one to Ani is amazing. In my opinion the two are the best Aces Republic will have by a long shot, just because he can hand out Focuses and they can still Boost or Roll. Yoda is an odd ball for me. The two Force Powers make me think of Sense + Battle Meditation with a flock of Jedi Masters. But... It seems like a lot of points on an I3 support Ship. End of the day, it is a 2 Dice, 3 Hull ship with a good dial. On its own its at best good. But you gotta take those upgrades to make it excelent, but then its not that cheap anymore. EDIT: A "cheap" ace list takes each ETA to over 60 points. While it makes them mobile like mad, every blank will be a threat of straight out losing ships.

If you are taknig Han, there is no reason not to take Novice Technician. With R2-D2 (Crew) it makes the Falcon stupidly tanky and durable. Han Solo (79) R2-D2 (Crew) (8) Novice Technician (4) Ship total: 91 Half Points: 46 Threshold: 7 Wedge Antilles (54) Predator (2) Servomotor S-Foils (0) Ship total: 56 Half Points: 28 Threshold: 3 Norra Wexley (Y-Wing) (41) Expert Handling (2) Ion Cannon Turret (5) R4 Astromech (2) Ion Bombs (3) Ship total: 53 Half Points: 27 Threshold: 4 Total: 200 View in Yet Another Squad Builder 2.0: https://raithos.github.io/?f=Rebel Alliance&d=v8ZsZ200Z42XWWW56W53WWWY5X127WWWW142Y25X120W138WW5WW317W&sn=Unnamed Squadron&obs=

Well, I cooked up something like this. If you can aim the Bullseye, the X1's free crit can be quite fun to abuse. (28) Baron of the Empire [TIE Advanced v1] (2) XX-23 S-Thread Tracers (2) Fire-Control System Points: 32 (39) Storm Squadron Ace [TIE Advanced x1] (2) Fire-Control System (1) Deadeye Shot Points: 42 (39) Storm Squadron Ace [TIE Advanced x1] (2) Fire-Control System (1) Deadeye Shot Points: 42 (39) Storm Squadron Ace [TIE Advanced x1] (2) Fire-Control System (1) Deadeye Shot Points: 42 (39) Storm Squadron Ace [TIE Advanced x1] (2) Fire-Control System (1) Deadeye Shot Points: 42 Total points: 200

I really think, if you bring Falcon and the Xes, you want to grab K-2S0 to engage double mods on Thane as well. I'd build something like this with the lowered points that we have now. (77) Leia Organa [Modified YT-1300 Light Freighter] (7) K-2SO (3) Heightened Perception Points: 87 (61) Luke Skywalker [T-65 X-wing] (3) Heightened Perception Points: 64 (47) Thane Kyrell [T-65 X-wing] (2) R4 Astromech Points: 49

Republic Squadron 1 (56) Anakin Skywalker [Eta-2 Actis] (8) Stealth Device (2) Predator Points: 66 (49) Obi-Wan Kenobi [Eta-2 Actis] (5) Sense (8) Stealth Device (2) Predator Points: 64 (51) Aayla Secura [Eta-2 Actis] (2) Brilliant Evasion (8) Stealth Device (2) Predator Points: 63 Total points: 193 Sense has the same trigger window as ETA-2 ship ability. So you can scout and then decide if you need to roll or boost. Gives you semi double reposition. Also Aayla can really help with survivability here. And here is my other idea. Republic Squadron 2 (49) Obi-Wan Kenobi [Eta-2 Actis] (5) Sense (2) Predator Points: 56 (51) Aayla Secura [Eta-2 Actis] (2) Brilliant Evasion (2) Predator Points: 55 (32) "Odd Ball" [Nimbus-class V-wing] (3) R4-P44 (2) Alpha-3B "Besh" (3) Precision Ion Engines (3) Elusive Points: 43 (33) "Contrail" [Nimbus-class V-wing] (2) R4 Astromech (1) Alpha-3E "Esk" (3) Precision Ion Engines (1) Marksmanship Points: 40 Total points: 194

FCS, because he can get a Lock from Lando. You can engage with a Focus and Stress and then move to Roll > Red Lock. I would also swap K-2S0 for Leia. It doesn't accomplish anything in this list and opens up Braylen's dial when he is stressed in those crucial turns when you want to spin around. (78) Lando Calrissian [Modified YT-1300 Light Freighter] (7) Leia Organa (5) Nien Nunb Points: 90 (48) Ten Numb [A/SF-01 B-wing] (2) Stabilized S-foils (3) Hull Upgrade (2) Fire-Control System Points: 55 (52) Braylen Stramm [A/SF-01 B-wing] (3) Hull Upgrade Points: 55 Total points: 200 Edit: I figured a clarification is in order. Each ship in the list is capable of giving themselves double mods. Which makes K-2S0 a bit redundant. It has a place on Lando for sure, as he will most likely do a Blue either way. But with no means of removing Stress from Braylen, I think Leia gives you more time on target with her ability to make red turn arounds white for a turn.

Free Evade? Access to Sensor Slot? V-Wing seems more aggressive, but with the LAAT its Boost + Lock loses a bit of its charm. N1 can charge in with Evade Focus and get rerolls from the LAAT.

Yup, it just came up in our local group. So I thought I will mention it here. Makes the whole update a bit less reliable too

Fang Fighters have their 1 Hard Red now.

So... Looking at Hyperspace exclusively. Most factions have lost either named or generic pilots on their ships. The one unaffected by it seems to be the Rebelion. Empire has no Aces at all. No Vader, Soontir, Duchess, Grand Inquisitor, Whisper. But "Howlrunner" swarm is back on the plate. Defenders are legal. ETA-2 Yoda has two Force Power slots. Interesting. Patience + Battle Meditation? Torrents lost all generics. V-Wing has lost all named pilots. Same for ARC-170. Which makes "Warthog" only ever really usable with V-Wings, Aethersprite Jedi or ARCs. Rebels have Luke a point cheaper. Some crew cards went out of Hyperspace, which saddens me. RIP Kannan Jarrus on Leia. ETA-2 just got a lot more flavour with the Talent + Force Power combo. You can fly Predator Jedi now! Also "Odd Ball" with Elusive, R4-P44, "Besh" Config and Precision Ion Engines is just 43 points. "Klick" is 32 points for an amazing support ability.
-
Oh... Ahhh, maybe @MegaSilver won't notice I mean, Odd Ball is fun, but ARC is too difficult to aim bullseye, Y-Wing is a-okay, with the roll into Lock for the Range 1 Adv. Torps or something. As for him in the ARC being better than Jag, maybe. I will still take Jag with Plo over Odd Ball with Kit Fisto. That way you have a bully that can Reinforce and punish people for not shooting him by getting a Lock on his 3 Dice primary.

I take the Mag-Pulse to strip tokens of Aces and maybe make them do a Blue next turn. Like a weaker Ion effect. You can predict where the enemy will end up at by handing that token out. They either will shoot less or fly where you want. It's just an utility tool. You could swap them for Ion Missiles and hand Rampage the Intimidation.
