Or this is a clever plot point to drive the story forward in season 3. This is a goofy RAI vs RAW situation when one stops to thinks about it. Mando could literally fake a fight and then lose without consequence and all would be right with the world.

But it does seem to be the consensus that a unit could be targeted with Force Choke while on the transport, yes?

Obiwan Kenobi took a big hit for me when I saw they were bringing back Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader. I would prefer no Darth Vader in any of it and watch Obiwan have adventures fighting off Sand People, Jabba's minions, etc. on Tatooine or where ever he takes Luke
Apparently there are going to be a lot of flashbacks and such for Kenobi. I think you need Hayden reprising his role as Anakin in order to make most of those flashbacks work. As for the Vader part, I think that could just be him on the extreme edges of things. I think of Vader as ordering the middle people (likely bounty hunters) to go and search for missing Jedi and such, but there will not be any direct interaction between Obi-wan and Vader. That would be a pretty big retcon.

How do you get 1/8? Assuming he has a dodge to use and six dice are rolled, there would be one surge on average. That’s 1/6.

Someone "vocal" walks into a LGS to sign up for one of these tournaments and finds out they are just selling them. They go to (AMG, FFG?)'s website> contact us> customer service> e-mail:
"Hey I went to X store, they're selling the limited runs at $40, no tournaments posted"
The guy in charge of tracking this stuff gets this email, he reviews his file, contacts people in relation to the store and when they didn't follow the guidelines get black listed.Cool theory, but I literally just ordered from Asmodee, and after five days of a pending order, I submitted a ticket to cancel that order because my LGS finally got Phase 2's in stock. Fastforward SEVEN days, and my order ships. At that point I get this email:
QuoteHi,
Thanks for messaging us. Because orders are processed as quickly as possible, it is not always possible to cancel or modify them. In this case, your order shipped before it could be modified. We do allow the return of unopened products in original condition within 30 days of delivery. You can read more information about our shipping and return policies at the links below.
https://store.us.asmodee.com/policy/shipping-policies/

They can't do CUSTOMER SERVICE correctly, and you think they are going to add some new requirements down the line properly?

Building a gaming community is the ROI. Getting people interested through events such as Painting Contests, Leagues, Casual nights, Tournaments, and Raffles means selling more product. That means making more money.
Local WH gamers won't touch the game, not because it's somehow more flawed than their own, because FFG/Asmodee have a long history of fostering scalpers markets. It's sad when you can't convince a group of people connected to arguably one of the most toxic communities on Earth to buy in because of toxic business practices. And if someone reports them, they're black listed.
The LGS has more to lose than Asmodee. If they start playing chicken we all know who wins. It's not the game store who can barely keep it's numbers up while selling stuff like Legion and X-wing, I'll tell you that. Most businesses are in the business of MAKING money. It is incredibly easy for anyone to armchair quarterback. If your method is the best way, then back it up. Show me your store that is making hand over fist because you do things the right way. Or start a game company and build a product that blows everything else out of the water, and build it up to the point where you get the star wars license and can make your game the way you want.
Please do not take my words as attacks or personal insults (not my intention in the slightest). Asmodee sucks, and I really don't think they deserve any benefits here, but ultimately it probably isn't their fault (mostly). They answer to people at the top who only care about making money, and that is all they will ever care about. People who sit on boards don't care about actually growing the game, they care about getting more money. They are looking at projections for the next quarter or two as opposed to where things will be in five or ten years (when they will be long gone and off to ruining some other company).
Ultimately though, I cannot get hung up on limited edition stuff or prize support that has ZERO bearing on anything other than being aesthetically different. There are bigger fish to fry out there. -
@Darth Sanguis You cannot be serious. What you are asking for is not remotely feasible realistically without investing a ton of money in new hires and infrastructure to support it. Even if they did all of that, where is the ROI? How does holding stores "accountable" translate into more money? It won't because the people who want to game the system absolutely will do just that. Store owner's could have "special" events that are for members only and just sidestep all of this to have someone else sell the OP stuff online.
Ultimately, if they come down on the LGS selling their product, then that store loses its incentive to sell Asmodee products, which means that Asmodee loses money in the end. -
18 minutes ago, Darth Sanguis said:Yes because they don't enforce it. All they'd need to do is enforce it. It's not like it'd be hard they do just fine enforcing MAPs.
Honestly, how prey tell would they enforce it? Please explain why you think it would be so easy to enforce such a thing.

8 minutes ago, Darth Sanguis said:No idea if that's considered canon, but if it is and this is a real leak…. Is it possible we're getting an AT-AT?
Like, it doesn't seem possible considering just how massive it seems in Legion scale but the body of this speeder truck next to the silhouette of the AT AT makes me think... if we get one the other is definitely possible.I cannot imagine any chance of there being an AT-AT in this game. I have the official FFG Hoth map and the each AT-AT footprint is slightly bigger than the size of an AT-RT base. A single base for that type of model would be so massive that a table could not realistically have terrain. Something like using a single base for each foot is clunky and weird as well.

And it won't sell at that. There were people who couldn't contain themselves that bought one at $150 or more, but the amount of these models available is pretty high. Take a look for yourself:
https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=star+wars+legion+luke&_sacat=0&rt=nc&LH_Sold=1&LH_Complete=1
They've been declining in price for a while now, and they will likely continue to drop until the supply evaporates, at which point they will go back up. There is yet plenty of supply for those who must have the limited edition model. -
B2-HA. The extended ranged, blast, and impact two gives it so much versatility for the cost of exhaust with cycle. With proper order control, exhaust doesn't become an issue, because recover -> fire is a valid tactic. I have never used the ACM because I have never found it to be worth while.

Go into the store, open up eBay, and laugh at them. The prices have been steadily dropping over the last few weeks. Spread the word to other patrons that they should not buy from the store at all. Maybe if everyone in your area votes with their respective wallets, the store will learn a lesson.

27 minutes ago, Darth Sanguis said:I don't disagree. There was an excellent post about it when these discussions about counter clone tactics were more pertinent after all.
If I had to estimate, I'd conjecture that the problem with this method of thinking comes down to the variability of the game. Not every counter is applicable in a given situation. In terms of clones, it's been my experience that most of the provided counters aren't situationally applicable. Ironically leaving "Git Gud" as the best advice you can give a player facing clones.
In seems to me, based on observation alone, part of what makes the clones seem so much stronger in small samples is they have the inherent capacity to punish even the slightest misstep with a severity that is basically unmatched in this game. So while in terms of overall balance, they may be close to the correct mark, in small samples, where even slight mistakes result in instant and often debilitating results, they can be outright unfun to play against.
As an organizer, in terms of clones locally, here's what I can say as fact:
1.) Fire Support shots happen in about 80% of the games I've seen involving clones and they are never weak.
1a.) It has been used to shrug off debilitating suppression on multiple occasions.
1b.) It has been used to shrug off poison on multiple occasions.
1c.) It has been used to heavily wound or eliminate commanders in the first 2 rounds on multiple occasions.
1d.) A heavy majority of players who have experienced clones have mentioned how unfun the mechanic is.
2.) Token sharing happens in 100% of the games I've seen involving clones.
2a.) It has been used to maximize defenses against multiple attacks in a single game on multiple occasions.
2b.) It has been used to maximize multiple attacks in a single game on multiple occasions.
2c.) It has been used to heavily wound or eliminate commanders within the first 2 rounds on multiple occasions.
2d.) A majority of the local players who have experienced clones have mentioned how unfun the mechanic is.
This sample size is small. there are a total of 11 players locally, but here are some corollary facts:
1.) At least 3 players will refuse to play against clones outright.
2.) At least 3 players are refusing to play as clones due to their perceived power.
3.) Our best clone player last informed me his record was 23-2.
4.) A heavy majority of our players will outright refuse to play against this player.
5.) 2 players have spoken to me about the possibility of selling out entirely due to balance issues.
All of this to say:
The NPE's which result from these mechanics happen more than you'd think.
Sure, NPE's can happen all of the time. In my last game, I ran Maul + Double AAT against my friends list of Obi + Anakin. I infiltrated Maul and he took the bait, deploying both of his heroes in an effort to get a first turn charge. I then proceed to move + shoot with both AAT's landing 6 hits each (thanks to the rockets and high velocity). He rolled terribly and each of his heroes took 3 wounds in the first couple of activations. Maul proceeded to finish Anakin off at the top of turn 1 (again terrible red defensive dice). At the top of turn three, we called it because he couldn't dig himself out of his hole. Did he moan and complain about AAT's or high velocity? No, he realized, that he made a huge error on deployment and learned a valuable lesson for next time.
If a commander is getting fire supported off of the board turn two, then I would hazard a guess that the general probably screwed up. Fire support is not a secret, and like token sharing, it can and should be planned around. It can be very devastating when it goes off, but when it whiffs, it is just as devastating to the GAR player.
As for your local scene, it seems like your "best clone player" is could be an issue unto themselves. Honestly, who keeps a running tally of their overall record? In my personal experience, it is usually the type of player who is out to win at all costs, and I don't enjoy playing games with those people either.
Haslamm1 and Darth Sanguis reacted to this -
Remember that fire support is irrelevant to cover. Cover only checks from the activating unit’s leader. The fire supporting unit needs LOS to participate, but after that is confirmed, they just add their dice and any relevant keywords on the weapon(s) added to the attack pool.

Demoralize X is on page 36
If x = 1, you can add a total of 1 suppression token to a single unit. If x = 2, you could do one token to two units or two tokens to one unit.

The problem with this boards ignore feature is that is doesn’t block quotes. When others quote a troll, it still displays that nonsense when I view the thread. If ignore blocked initial posts and quotes, then I’d be a happy camper.

What exactly can be done with CIS that is such a problem?

My guess is that they wanted to give creative control to AMG and that was not going to work with Alex in the picture. It’s not a knock on him, but rather a business decision that they would rather not have the prospect of the creator of the game potentially causing rifts due to not being able to call the shots.

Yes, I think so. There is no way Asmodee is firing anyone over balance issues. Every competitive game has balance problems, and a few pages of rules errata and updates is certainly not grounds to fire anyone.

Hard pass. Physical rules would likely lead to reduced FAQs (as they invalidate the purchase) and it is unnecessary. Given the keyword system of Legion, it was also reduce the ability for the designers to play in new spaces on the fly.
As others have asked for numerous times, just make a printer friendly version of the PDF, and everything will be great.
