Summary: any pistol with 7 or more damage should be classed as heavy. Plus weapons like the DE-10, which are described as such.
-
Quotewhat classifies as a heavy blaster pistol?
Sometimes the description will help you out with this: The DE-10 and DC-17 from Collapse are both heavy.
Most pistols that do 7+ damage are explicitly heavy blaster pistols.
These three don't: DR-45 Dragoon, H-7 Equalizer and Nova Viper. Definitely houserule them as heavy blaster pistols if you're going to use the ammo depletion rule. They're just too good otherwise.

According to the Rebel Alliance Sourcebook p98: General / Admiral > Colonel > Commander > Major > Captain > Lieutenant. Nothing about enlisted ranks ( sorry troops, you're not important enough to even get a rank ). Maybe Mark is right.

Is there someplace online where I can find a clear description of rebel and imperial rank structure? For both officers and enlisted personnel. I ask because the chart on AOR 393 doesn't make sense ( a chief petty officer; but no petty officer, a master sergeant; but no sergeant ) and it contradicts the online stuff I found, which also contradict one another. Maybe Lucas just improvised in his early movies; but I figure someone must have formalized them in the meantime. Any clarity here would be welcome.

Thanks for info guys. Sounds like the best two solutions are either:
1. Token aliens who were hazed out as the Empire grew less tolerant (canon grey area), or
2. Graduates of "The Academy For Young Bothans", or some such (canon white area).

How realistic is the Imperial academy cadet career for a non-human PC? Except Adm Thrawn, I have never seen an alien Imperial officer.

According to wookiepedia, squadrons (also called groups) consist of 12 fighters/bombers, and can have as many as 15. Red Squadron is commanded by several different rebel officers ranked commander (including Skywalker). Gold Squadron is commanded by a captain, and later by General Calrissian.

It is brutal. P-47 says it's an actual longarm. I wonder how it got to be ranged ( light ).
-
Described in Disciples Of Harmony and Gadgets And Gear, this ranged ( light ) weapon is enc 2 and described as a "rifle", whatever that means for a freeze ray. Does anyone know what it looks like? Does it fit in a pistol holster? Is it SMG-sized? Carbine-sized?

Bad news, SuperWookie! I found the wookiepedia entry: your people get these. Presumably as adults, given their long lifespans. And rebel prisoners get them too. So maybe they don't need to be implanted in embryos. So why doesn't The Empire use them everywhere? You could build an entire civilization with these!

I just read about these in Joaopaulon's thread. This tech has amazing plot potential ! I'm surprised it doesn't get used more. If it's economical to implant a clone army, why not implant any entire species with these chips? Why not give one to Leia instead of torturing her? It's not like The Empire has moral qualms about anything. Does FFG provide any rules for this tech?

Padewan Learner and Imperial Academy Cadet both make a lot more sense as starting careers.

Does Qui-Gon Jinn gain conflict for manipulating a chance cube against Watto? He is freeing exactly one slave no matter what color comes up, therefore selfish desire seems to be his motive for cheating - rather than emancipation. No wonder Anakin turns to evil with a mentor like that.

1. Is this any good?
2. How do people advise using it?
It seems having a second chance when I miss should be awesome - but I can't make another strike. I can Guard or Calming Breath, I suppose. Kata like Flowing Water Strike and Crimson Leaves Strike and Heartpiercing Strike are technically not strikes, so maybe those could be my second action. Might be better off investing in success on my first try.
Changing stance should also be good; but wouldn't it be easier to simply act in my favored stance? Very curious how this is meant to be used.

Stacking CoST + Earth Dragon might be worthwhile, up at rank 4 maybe. Like Hida says, it does have some utility.

Courage Of The Seven Thunders looks better: increases composure and endurance for a full scene at TN2 + 1 *.
Multiple targets and this invocation is level 1. I see no reason to ever choose Earth Dragon when I can have COST instead.

"Extra endurance equal to your earth ring for one round."
This appears to be a very weak invocation. Is there a point to having it?

About the blond Cranes in the artwork:
1. Are they bleached or natural?
2. Does it any cultural significance, like high fashion or bravery or something?
3. Is this uniquely a Crane custom, or does every have a few blond samurai?
4. Can peasants go blond, or is that presumptuous?

I'll nominate Armor Of Radiance.
When a character at range 0 - 1 of the wearer begins his turn, he suffers Burning and Dazed conditions.
So I move next to you, and you catch fire. Not sure how to defend against this.

15 hours ago, DarkHorse said:Both Jedi Knight Luke and the innocent Child use Force Choke on screen.
The Gamorreans? I've heard it debated they were pushed/mind-tricked. And maybe babies aren't responsible for their actions? There's non-force-using grey characters, obviously. And there's Jedi on the path toward evil. But I can't see The Force as grey. Not when the Jedi themselves are so emphatic on this point. Maybe they're unreliable?

It seems to me, this is more than just semantics. The dark side is a reskinned DEAL WITH THE DEVIL. There is no grey here. Summoning a demon - even just once - is a stain on your soul. You are flipping off God and all that is holy. These bargains are inherently evil, because Satan is made of pure evil. You can't worship Satan 'just a little bit.' It always turns out bad. Ever watch The Black Rider? He accidentally kills his own girlfriend. Just like Darth Vadar.

High soak d/n protect from critical hits, special weapon effects or environmental mayhem. A shootout in a bazaar or a cantina or an automated robot factory can be exciting and colorful even if you won't do much actual damage. Consider the final scene of The Mandalorian s01e03, for example.
