    [Hugo the Glorious]

Found this art for Hugo the glorious, what do you think guys ? (with a bit revised ability)

Comes from Legacy of dragonholt (but this special case, he would really fit as a healer with this look)

That's a pretty good artwork, but I'd consider finding a good miniature first, since in my experience it's easier to find artwork that matches a mini, rather than a mini matching a particilar artwork.
Take the Aurim I posted before as an example. I like the art but I don't know where to find a mini like it.

If this is ment to be for us as a community, making 12 figures in Heroforge might be a bit expensive. :)

Your picture is a perfect match, well done :)  Although there is no agreement regarding his heroic feat yet. I like Rugal's first version but with a bit of modification which he doesn't like :)

I've made a photo but can't attach it here now for some reason... Why I cannot attach pictures???

Ok, I'm uploading the the hero sheet on my last post without any ability text for now.

I upload my images to imgur and copy the image link and paste it here.

And this one for Bogran the Shadow:

There seems to be an actual well fitting artwork for this mini!

I say I have found my Bogran!

How big is the mini compared to Descent heroes? It looks quite detailed.

Edit: Reduced number of knifes on his chest to 1 so it matches the mini and made his mask red to be more Bogran-like. I can make his mask silver again if you prefer. :)

  4. I made a quick version of Aurim with new character art that fits Rugals version.
I think this guy looks like a dude who scours through search decks and hands out potions.

I have not found a mini that fits yet :)
It might be possible to do something with this figue.
Maybe finding the mini first and modifying art later would be a better idea.

I made changes to this picture.

EDIT: After Rugal's comment below, I made a change so Aurim only picks one potion per quest but flip it faceup at the end of each encounter. This way you don't go through the Search deck as easily.

Is the Summoned Stone affected by the Barghest attack Howl I am not sure , hopefully last question

No, Since the Summoned stone is a familiar that istreated as an obstacle instead of treated as a hero.

This is some information you can find in the Community Rules Reference guide on page 17.

    oh1OBAv.png

Since the Barghest Howl affects "heroes", the Stone is not affected by that monster skill.
However if Howl is used on a familiar like Necromancer's Reanimate or Beastmaster's Wolf, they will be affected since those kinds of familiars are treated as heroes.

It's nice to see that you're having fun with the game! Don't be afraid to ask questions.
I advise you to download the Community Rules Reference guide though. it is searchable so just type in a word like "Summoned Stone" and you'll find lots of information that probably will answer your questions :)

when the summon stone makes a attack using 1 of your equipped Magic weapons can it use the surge abilities on that weapon like the hero can?

Yes. When it only says abilities, it means both surge abilities and other abilities that do not require you to spend surges to use, like the Blasting Rune's upper
effect or the +2 Range on Witch Hazel Bow.

If you have surge abilities on you Hero Sheet like Master Thorn, the Summoned stone cannot use those since it is not on the weapon. The summoned stone can not use 1 surge to make you recover 1 fatigue either.

You can compare this to Skirmisher's Dual Strike. As you can see on the last sentance, it is limited to surge abilities, so in that case the other abilities that do not require surges will not be able to be used in that case.

It says on the summoned stone card Each of your attacks targeting a monster adjacent to a summoned stone gains 1 surge does that just effect Dezra the vile or do all attacks from all the hero’s gain the 1 surge

    - it affects just the Geomancer hero. when the class skills say "your attacks" it is limited to only you. You can check out Stalker's Easy Prey to see a wording that gives a bonus to each hero's attack, not only the Stalker hero.

Also it says on the summoned stone card while this card is exhausted  1 of your summoned Stones may perform an attack during its activation so if on your next turn do you have to re-exhaust the card and summon the summon stone  back again or  can you activate the  summon stone with out re-exhausting the summoned stone card each turn.

At the start of your turn, you always refresh/unexhaust your exhausted cards.
A hero player may activate each familiar his hero controls once during his hero turn (either before or after resolving all of his hero’s actions). - Rulebook page 17

so when yur turn starts, you will always have to refressh your cards and then activate your hero or familiar.
You have to activate your hero and exhaust Terracall before activating your summoned stone if you want it to be able to perform an attack during its activation.
Even if terracall is not exhausted, your summoned stone will still be activated, but it can not perform an attack. This means it can only move during it's activation.
When activated, a familiar may perform a move action following the same rules as heroes - Rulebook page 17.

So if you want to perform an attack with your summoned stone during it's activation. You will have to exhaust Terracall during that same turn.
With that said, in the Community rules reference guide it is stated that "The Geomancer may exhaust Terracall to attack with a Summoned Stone without placing a Summoned Stone." So when you exhaust the card you don't have to place the stone within 3 spaces of you. It can keep its old location if you like that better.

WoW ! Impressive ! Were dis you get those stl files of other heroes ?

Seems like you used a SLS technology to print them, yes ?

The other heroes are the real original figures.
They're just primed with black and then some white from above.

Sahla's spell effect is hand made with part of a paper clip and green stuff.

I'm curious to see that. What mini will use use for them ?

I've made Shoulderpads McLantern in Hero Forge as a base and then added a lot of things with Green Stuff and wire.
Here she is primed and ready to be painted together with some other heroes standing in queue :)

I have nothing ready for Shadar yet. I'll wait and see how McLantern turns out first.

  10. Since this is a community content discussion, I'd like to point out that there are already a few community created heroes that adds to the Mage and Healer roster.

    - There is 1 Healer and 1 Mage in Sands of the Past.
    - There are 2 healers and 1 of each other archetype in Maze of Drakon.

In the future I plan to play Shoulderpads McLantern as a Healer once I paint the mini that I've made and come up with a fun Hero Sheet for her.
I'm planing to do the same for Shadar Runearmor but as a Mage.

You guys are free to do what you want, but I'm just saying, if having an exact same amount of hero archetypes is important to you - there are also other ways to even it out. :D

    Scout: Kirga, Bounty Hunter

I know the Feat clashes with the rules of the game (because you're supposed to track Fatigue this way).  I don't track Fatigue that way, so it's fine for me.  I'm not sure how to accomplish this ability any other way, but I need to think about it some more.

Couldn't we  change it so the fatigue tokens are not placed on your hero sheet? Maybe they could be placed on one of these:

    - Hero Trun Summery /activation card

    - 1 of your Equipped weapons

    - 1 of your starting class cards. (this would however limit our boundries if we ever wanted to create a custom class that places fatigue tokens on its starting class card)

    - Maybe even just calling it "near your play area" like the bard's song token is supposed to be before it is placed on his class cards.

Just a thought that might keep things easier or spark your minds with much better ideas than mine. :)
Keep up the good discussion, folks! ❤️ 💪

I like these ideas so much, that I want to try them right away. One question regarding this Mad Carthos - how about him as Elementalist - wouldn't be a bit OP as he could literally use all his skills without ever spending a single FP?

You are right about that. Elementalist was released after this Mad Carthos version came up. Maybe limiting it to the first 2 skills that cost 1 fatigue per round or something like that? Idk

Is there a wordpress or a blog on how you painted the monsters and heroes you never made a video for? I've been following your tutorials and with out them I couldn't imagine how my miniatures would look, your tutorials are just so **** incredible and detailed they have really helped me out so much you'll never know.

Sadly there are no tutorial videos for the smaller monsters like Goblin Archers, Zombies, Cave Spiders. Flesh Moulders and Barghest's or for Tomble Burrowell or Ashrian.

Did you at all make a blog on how to paint them? Or can you (or anyone else for that matter) suggest a guide for painting the other monsters and heroes? Or at least what paint colors where used?

I think they're on his patreon, but I'm not sure.

  14. I just did the saltwater test on 16 different dice to check their balance.
6 of these were not balanced. I have 2 blue attack dice and one was perfectly balanced, the other one had a lighter side which was the 3 Range, 2 Hearts.

In total, these were my 6 imablanced dice out of 16.

Blue die - light side: 3 Range, 2 hearts
Yellow die - light side: 2 hearts
Red die - light side: 3 hearts, 1 surge.
Brown die - light side: 2 shields
Grey die 1- light side: 1 shield
    Grey die 2 - light side : 0 shields

So the lightest side doesn't seem to always be the one with the most carving.

I rolled my imabalced blue die 200 times to check how many times I got the 3 Range and 2 hearts and I rolled it 33 times, which is a basically 1 in 6. I rolled the X 35 times.
So i'm not sure if this little experiment got me anywhere 😂

  15. Hi there.

On the second part of the Champion's starting card Valor of Heroes, it says "Before rolling his attack dice, a hero may spend 1 valor to add 1 Heart to his attack results (limit once per attack)." This can be applied to any attack performed by any figure treated as a hero.

It's the same for the second part of Glory in Battle (1exp) "Before rolling his defense dice, a hero may spend 1 valor to add 1 Shield to his defense results (limit once per defense roll)"

Also see No mercy (2 exp)  "a hero within 3 spaces of you (including yourself) may spend 2 valor to exhaust this card and immediately perform an attack."
